Unassigned Devices - Managing Disk Drives and Remote Shares Outside of The Unraid Array
since its a open source software its not like Microsoft that people get paid has a team and works on the bugs and then releases here we have like 1 or 2 people on a plugin fixes an issue that could be caused from another program in unraid could be a combination of things.. and thats why they ask for diagnostics and what you were doing to try to recreate the issue and fix that specific issue so others dont get those issues... you can also setup so the pluggins update on there own so if you dont wanna update when it pops up just let it auto update at like 12am ... but they are always working on making problemmatic issues fixed right away.. windows does it too at times you just dont notice it as it updates in the background and then applys updates when you reboot or when your sleeping... its hard work for the single or two programmers as they do it in there spare time fixing it and not all day .. same with Home Assistant

nothing but propfind errors how i fix? and unraid terminal freezes or ssh kicks me out
hi i have nothing but propfind and one options error and login i not sure whats going on? i recently changed motherboard and ram due to i had parity errors bit flips apparently and a corrupt disk1 due to bad ram but also found out malfunctioning board from a asus x570 strix motherboard with 32gb desktop ram 3200mhz to asus x570 tuf gaming motherboard with 32gb ECC ram 3200mhz i tried to keep things similar.. now i get errors now i never seen before so not sure if its due to motherboard switch or so but maybe you guys know my server is 192.168.0.3 and my desktop pc is 192.168.0.227 and i usually leave the unraid server open as i usually doing something on the webpage like krusader etc and i been moving files over from older 12tb drives to newer 14tb drives and running 3 14tb Preclear i find it kicks me out of the terminal well locks it up.. unraid is slow and if i ssh in after a minute or less it kicks me out root@Tardis:/mnt/user# cd /usr/local/emhttp/client_loop: send disconnect: Connection reset even my recyling bin is messed up i posted in the recyling bin page is there a scanner that scans the unraid to make sure things are all working ok... the fix common issues isnt finding any errors.. but something like a windows tweakers where it scans registeries and possible issues does unraid have something like that other then fix common issues here is a current diagnostic tardis-diagnostics-20230529-0917.zip

Unassigned Devices - Managing Disk Drives and Remote Shares Outside of The Unraid Array
ok i inboxed ya i tried googling how you move default /mnt to addons for pools but came up with just zfs stuff /mnt is defaulted and i cant change that when you create a pool where is it you set the location and how come unraid just doesnt default into the addons folder all i know is create pool enter name enter number of disks click ok select the disk to use in that pool and mount array i dont have a mount area. so i have no idea how you do that
-
Unassigned Devices - Managing Disk Drives and Remote Shares Outside of The Unraid Array
it looks like the buffer of the terminal ran out i guess there should be more in there and how do i do the addon? when i create a new pool i dont see where i can do addons i just type the pool name and create and then choose the drive and then mount thats all i know idSb="" sizeSb="0" deviceSb="" ["disk1"] idx="1" name="disk1" device="sdk" id="ST14000NM001G-2KJ103_ZTM0E7HX" transport="ata" Unassigned Devices - Managing Disk Drives and Remote Shares Outside of The Unraid Array
ah ok.. i did test the ram with memtest 2 pass's no issues and unraid does see it as a ecc multi-bit ram.. but i can re run it.. i had started copying like 12am and this came up around 4am so i dunno... is that only a ram thing? General protection fault.. what does it actually mean as i couldnt find 1 that was fully sure more like it can be anything and nothing specific and reason i thought maybe the ud was linked as it was only what 30 seconds after that the protection one came up and then the nothing else in error logs... but ill re run the memtest after its done copying 8tb in krusader

Unassigned Devices - Managing Disk Drives and Remote Shares Outside of The Unraid Array
ah ok so i can ignore that nfs wasnt sure as for the file check.. i unmounted and clicked the check mark for the file check system and it reported FS: ntfs Executing file system check: /bin/ntfsfix -n /dev/sdi1 2>&1 Mounting volume... OK Processing of $MFT and $MFTMirr completed successfully. Checking the alternate boot sector... OK NTFS volume version is 3.1. NTFS partition /dev/sdi1 was processed successfully. and do you know what this error means i tried googling didnt help it came on 30 seconds or so after the ssd warning error does it say that they both linked May 28 04:01:17 Tardis kernel: traps: lsof[17455] general protection fault ip:1498e29784ee sp:187e48546611584f error:0 in libc-2.36.so[1498e2960000+16b000] i ran short smart test no errors i ran extended test no errors and all the server was doing was copying from the 12TB drive in the unassigned devices to the array and the games drive pool to the array... the transport data 1tb drive was just idle i also switched to a new motherboard and upgraded to ecc ram not sure if that all that matters

some reason i got some errors in the middle of the night and i cant copy off my ssd it also thinks the files already exist on the array.. what this error means... and why do i get a nfs error i dont use it not sure what it is May 27 22:16:25 Tardis unassigned.devices: Warning: Unassigned Devices are not set to be shared with NFS. unraid super slow turning on mounting and dashboard.. and uptime 73 years
so i having issues.. unraid takes alot longer to boot up.. i added ECC ram to my server had to switch to a different motherboard as i been having issues lately.. i removed the Parity drive for the time being why i do upgrading and need for new parts server says its been up 73 years... the Mothership website i think makes my server really slow.. i can ping it but it says it cant in the logs.. if you set the array on auto mount it will but its super super slow doing so if you set the array to no to auto mount and when you reboot.. and try to mount.. i get a Red Error on a update.htm file or something i dont have diagnostic and it wont allow you to mount... but here is one of the diags and pic i checked there is a time page in the settings the time zone setting is right apparently its set to now 2097 i changed the time zone and apply but it wont fix the year... not sure what is going on... if it was created from the mothership website issue but i cant change the time.. its a headless server so i cant change in the bios so i been trying from settings page tardis-diagnostics-20230527-2048.zip

parity erased bunch of my folders anyway to get them back
@JorgeB ya i plan to reformat disk 1 i cancelled. the disk rebuild... as in a few hours i expect to get that 64 gig ecc ram from samsung to use in my server.. and hope it helps @itimpi ah ok ya ill do that.. i only played with that new config thing several years ago so i didnt know what i can do and do you guys know why the datarebuild is going so slow? and do you guys know if the next version of unraid has a feature or so that it detects in the logs if there is memory issues that unraid will notify you.. since the system logs never tell you when there is Errors or warnings.. the notifications only tells ya about an array or so the 5 checkboxs but nothing really tells you if there is a drive having ata issues or this memory issue... as i dunno how long i been having problems i only noticed when i posted i was having issues getting Geforce 3060 to work in unraid and it kept crashing and no one replied to it.. and then i posted drive issues and by the 3rd post JorgeB found out i had memory issues... so that probably why the geforce 3060 was crashingin the unraid box i havent re tried yet.. but is there a pluggin or anything that lets u know when ram is failing in the System logs so u can stop writting to disks etc.. or do you have to manuually check on ur own say once a day or soooo

parity erased bunch of my folders anyway to get them back
@JorgeB can i do "New Config" under tools and remove the parity drive and start over fresh and then re add the parity drive since i unable to find a way to stop datarebuild least thats what i was thinking or if i could format parity drive or add a 2nd parity drive i dunno but i dont want it to take 8 days thats all i know and i dunno why its sooo bloody slow
-
parity erased bunch of my folders anyway to get them back
@JorgeB @itimpi can i hit stop array.. then click parity in the array and some how format the drive like i did for disk1... or is there a command line to format parity drive to start a resync and increase disk speed.. and is there someting that is slowing the parity rebuild to 14mbs does logs say anything can i do a new build and remove the parity drive and run the disks indivdually and then add a partiy drive.. what options are there
-
parity erased bunch of my folders anyway to get them back
ah well i probabbly dont... what i was looking for was parity sync and from what i thought i read.. it was to reset the parity drive.. as i couldnt get data rebuild to turn off and let me do a parity sync.. i want to reset the party drive after i formated drive 1.. it didnt help and when i switched drive that didnt help either... so i went looking for a parity sync.. and found that under tools and i didnt change anything except from no to yes to write to parity... i thought it would force parity to reset like sticking a parity drive in for the very first time.. but it didnt and i cant get data rebuild off and partiy sync on.. or speed up drives to 200mbs from 14mbs 8 days for a partiy sync/data rebuild frig so i think the parity sync errors are still corrupt from what jorgeb was saying
-
parity erased bunch of my folders anyway to get them back
and i dunno if the logs show anything in the diagnostics above as i cant remember if i did a reboot in between running that check so not sure now and i dunno why its doing data rebuild or why its going to take 8 days.. is there anyway to for a party sync after i formated disk 1 and reset party and get it back up to the 200mbs speeds all drives are 7200 and they worked before the ram issues i getting the new ECC ram today so i hoping that solves issues but i cant get the drives to go faster
-
parity erased bunch of my folders anyway to get them back
@itimpi so is there a way to force parity sync like a clean setup of parity to avoid the above pic its doing data rebuild so when what i did with that parity problem tool i selected Yes and then Check... and the hard drives were all lite up.. and the GUI was unresponsive and then i got a 500 error.. on the screen... about 5 min after clicking the Check the hard drives all stopped flickering and the Gui was working again and and no data sync or something i forget what it said at bottom

should i swap back the 12tb and re try again did the logs show anything
