  1. I'm not sure if this is specific to 6.3.5, or if this has been there for some time, but I'm seeing an error related to the delugevpn docker container port... " Docker Application delugevpn, Container Port 58946 not found or changed on installed application" I'm actually seeing this error listed twice, with exactly the same message. I checked the delugevpn settings, and I don't see any issues...
  2. I ended up just downloading the update manually, then copied it to the drive, then reinserted and tried again, and now all is well. I did notice that when I tried downloading the file, it got 'stuck' at 99% finished. I had to pause and restart the download for it to get the last 1%. I verified the hash before putting the files on the drive, and now all seems to be working again. Not sure if the same thing might have happened to the original update (corrupted/incomplete download), but I seem to be okay now.
  3. It's never been a problem on this machine before. I finally got up into the attic today, and got the monitor hooked up and all it tell me is "boot error" I've restarted a few times, no change. I'm now scanning the thumb drive for errors, but Windows didn't see any when I first installed the drive. I'm forcing the check anyway. I suspect I've got a corrupted download, but I really expect unRAID to check it's own downloads for errors before letting me reboot. Maybe it does and that's not the problem, but once the drive scan finishes, I have no other ideas what might have happened. Windows finished with no errors. I just ran the make bootable batch file, and I'll try again. Fingers crossed.
  4. updated fine, but after restarting, I can no longer get to the gui, nor access putty. I've restarted the machine again, using a quick press of the power button, but I still cannot access the server. FWIW, I updated all my dockers and a couple plugins before rebooting. I also used the reboot button, instead of stopping the array, then restarting. I'll try to access the server to see where it's hanging, but it's in the attic, and I need to get a monitor up there to connect, so it's not happening tonight
  5. I'm not sure what started this, but lately, I'm not able to create a folder on some of my user shares. Some still let me. I can't seem to find a reason, or pattern. What else can I provide to help troubleshoot? Thanks media-diagnostics-20170519-0909.zip
  6. Darn math! Yeah, I wasn't converting all the way. My bad. Thanks for pointing out my error, I feel better about my internet now (but worse about myself) thanks again.
  7. almost every nzb i send to SAB now tells me it's an invalid/empty nzb, but they seem to be working. I'm also getting terrible speeds after updating to the latest docker. I just ran a speed test and got about 30MB download speeds. I started SAB and am getting about 2MB/s download right now. Here are images showing the speed test before turning on SAB, the first about 6 minutes of SAB starting to work, with the average speed I'm downloading at, and the speed test I ran while SAB was still downloading, showing there's still another nearly 30MB/s available while SAB is downloading. Is it just my PIA server choice, or have I got something else going on? I don't really expect SAB to saturate the connection, but I'd like to get better than 10% utilization of my bandwith. ideas?
  8. Great, I look forward to trying it. I was going to report that the current version wasn't working for me. I am trying to move everything off of disk 3, and it appears I have plenty of room on all the other disks to clear disk 3, but unbalance is telling me there isn't enough room. It feels like it's doing its math on the one remaining folder on disk 3, which contains 1.5 TB of movies, and no single other disk has this much room, but there is almost 2TB of free space on all the other disks, so it should all fit. I'll update and try again when I get home, but wanted to report the issue anyway, in case it is a bug the hasn't gotten fixed already. Also, thanks for changing the way it works, I think it will be far more intuitive with your changes. Posted from my phone, forgive any spelling errors.
  9. yep, that was it. Bad design. I don't even think the folder I picked is on the disk I want to work with. I would think picking the disk to work with should be step 1 in the process. With that said, it looks like it will work way better than doing this by hand, so I still much appreciate this being made available to me; thank you.
  10. I just installed this plugin using Community Applications. I don't seem to be able to change the disk I'm trying to empty. It says "you choose the source disk in the main page" but i can only get to the settings and log tabs. clicking the Home tab does nothing. I've not been able to find "the main page" to specify which disk.
  11. I haven't looked at KODI for a while, but it lacked in database management functionality I really use JRMC for. But, I am considering installing it to have another look. I may just use JRMC to manage the structure and hopefully KODI can make playback easier/better in some way. I assume I can just install KODI as a program or plugin in a Linux Virtual Machine install, which would allow me to install some other programs I use (MakeMKV and others). I'm leaning towards trying Mint - Cinnamon, or Debian Jessie 64-bit. I don't really want to invest too much in learning Linux just now, so ease of use is big on my wish list to get started.
  12. I couldn't figure which board was best for posting this question, so I figured I'd get good response here. Feel free to move if necessary. I'm fed up with Windows 10 and its inability to allow me to schedule downloads (updates) during the time where I don't get charged for data use on my shitty satellite internet. I'm not in love with Windows 10 anyway, so I'm either going to go back to their last good OS (Windows 7), or, better yet, I want to move to using Linux. I've played a bit with Linux in the past, but things move fast, and I don't' have a good feel for what version on Linux I might want to start out with. I'm very used to Windows, so a decent GUI is a must for me; for now. I will install JRiver Media Center as my main media player/interface, and don't plan to use it for much else at first, but will eventually want to have a bit of a play to see what else I can do with Linux that I couldn't do easily last time I had a look. Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions on an OS to use for my HTPC running as a VM on unRAID. Thanks
  13. I've only tried ISOs from Microsoft, I remain stuck in this problem Posted from my phone, forgive any spelling errors.
  14. I'm not sure what the iommu-pt workaround is. I had to enable some override to allow devices to be split up to share to different VMs, but I can't remember the actual setting name. It may be the same thing you're asking about, but its called something different in the GUI Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk
  15. I believe that SATA card is still correct, and I'm definitely passing the 720 GT to my main HTPC VM. Funny thing is I had those errors before the 720. Ive had the 550Ti for years, but only added the 720 about 6 months ago. Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk
  16. Whoops, I need to update my signature, I added another 16GB ram to the server, so I've got 24 GB now. I agree a "this is what fixed it" would have been great, but no such luck. It seems destined to remain a mystery. Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk
  17. I continued to have the problem for at least a year. I've since replaced a drive or 2, swapped a couple from the sata card to the motherboard due to parity checks killing the server, and finally removing a drive from the array altogether, reducing the total number of drives in the server. Parity checks still kill dockers and/or VMs, but I no longer see the 5 errors when the check finally finishes. I plan to replace drives with larger ones and continue to remove drives from the array and stop using the data card once I no longer need that many drives. I cannot say which changes resulted in the errors going away, sorry. Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk
  18. Anyone find a solution to this? I see the same thing. Q35-2.5 OVMF Hyper-V Windows 10
  19. I've been using VM's since they became possible in unRAID. I've tried to keep up on best practices, but life happens, and I'm out of touch with current best practices. I've got 2 Windows 10 Virtual Machines, but only one will start now, and it's starting to act wonky and no longer wants to use the NIC assigned to it. Rather than keep trying to 'fix' these issues as they occur, I'd rather just start over and setup a Windows VM from scratch, using the best methods to maximize my aging hardware. I can't seem to find any sticky or any recent thread laying out the current methods and abilities. I'm on very slow and restricted satellite internet, so any video tutorials are difficult for me. If there is a good one (or several), and get not-terrible speed between midnight and 5am, but that's 4 hours away at this point. I have 2 GPU's installed, but would prefer to use my iGPU if possible. I thought I saw something recently that this is possible now, but I can't find that thread again. Which machine type is recommended which BIOS which network bridge is there any reason not to select USB 3.0 should all busses be SATA, or VirtIO is storing the VM image on an unassigned SSD a good idea, or bad for some reason is ACS override still necessary, and would it not be if I (re)moved a GPU is this any better/easier on the most recent beta build vs 6.2.4 is it a good or bad idea to setup a new VM, but point to an existing Windows installed image (vs installing windows from scratch) Anything I'm not thinking to ask, or other suggestions to get me to the most recent/capable setup? Thanks in advance for any help My signature should reflect current hardware setup.
  20. I just copy/paste the links into Deluge "+Add" button. I don't use Chrome, but in Firefox I use the "Torrent Status" plugin, took a little bit of trial and error to get all setup, but now magnets go directly to deluge, couldn't be easier now.
  21. I'm still trying to get me 2 Windows 10 VM's to work properly after moving to 6.2. Latest issue is that nether the mouse nor keyboard shows in the list with checkboxes to assign to any VM. Oddly enough, the mouse was working a couple days ago (while running 6.2), but now I don't even see the devices in the system/devices list. I wondering if I just need to re-create the VM from scratch, this time using OVMF for the BIOS this time, since I think I'd read that it's working better now. At the end of the day, I just want to passthru a video card, corresponding audio, mouse and keyboard to Windows VM. What's the best way to do that now?
  22. I currently have 2 Virtual Machines, several plugins, several dockers, and it all runs off an unassigned SSD. I know some things have changed in how unRAID will setup dockers and libvirt from scratch for a new user, but this isn't the way I'd done it originally. I've not followed closely, and see parts of answers to much of my questions, but wanted to summarize before I dig a hole I could easily avoid when I make the switch (later today). I think I read I cannot have either Docker or VM's on an unsasigned drive now, which isn't ideal, but if necessary, i can adapt. What is the current thinking/best practice for storage of docker and VM images? Is Community Applications able to backup these images for me, and if so, how do I set this up? I know I have to delete my docker image, and I can reinstall the dockers using the previous apps or with CA (in one fell swoop). Anything more I should be aware of here? As for the locations of the libvirt and iso images for Virtual machines; it seems that unRAID will create new folders on new installs, but it's unclear if they will be created for upgrades. If not, should I create them and adapt my setup to match this new default, to avoid having to remember how I customized from default in the years to come. I'm looking for ease and consistency, so if I have to do some hoop jumping now to avoid having to 're-learn' and do it later, I'm all for it. If I do use these new folder locations, will my stored docker image configs need to be changed to match the new locations (for where to put appdata specifically)? Is there some new/other/better way to manage unassigned drives in the new version? Should I just assign the SSD to the array, but exclude it from all storage capability, and just point everything to /mnt/diskX and not have an unassigned drive? Wouldn't this prevent the ability to have the VM's running with the array shut down, or does this happen now anyway (I can't remember). Finally, anything else I'm not considering that I should do before or as part of the upgrade today? Thanks
  23. Just curious, why did you move off the SSD to the cache?
  24. used Putty to shutdown -r now, and about 5 minutes later it finally rebooted. I've updated to latest version of CA and it took 19 seconds for the dialog to go away. I think this is an improvement, but I didn't really time the dialog before I reported last time, I just guessed at around 30 seconds. I'm still running 6.1.9 if that matters. Either way, it's not terrible, just an annoying reminder that my internet service sucks
  25. Can I get you to try something. Download this to your flash drive https://github.com/Squidly271/community.applications/raw/master/archive/community.applications-2016.09.03d.txz then from the console (or ssh) rm -rf /tmp/community.applications installpkg /boot/community.applications-2016.09.03d.txz And then try hitting the apps page again. Hopefully it will be significantly faster Edit: changes released in 2016.09.04 Let me know if its better I saw the notification that Community Apps had been updated, so I tried opening it, and started counting. I got to about 90 seconds, and the updating windows never went away. I then realized it was running 9.3c (not 9.4), so I'll have to try again. problem now is that it seems to have hung unRAID, so I'm still waiting, several minutes later, for it to release unRAID for me to work with. Hopefully I don't need to reboot the server
