November 27, 20214 yr I'm having the same issue as "Tibbe". When copying DB from from windows, it won't load (is ignored while a DB of the same name is created in the folder). Testing: Started a new game in Valheim Docker. Made in-game changes. Closed game. Stopped Valheim Docker. Copied DB from Unraid into Windows. Loaded Copied DB in windows. Confirmed in-game changes remained. Made additional in-game changes. Closed game. Copied DB from Windows back into Unraid. Started Valheim Docker. Started game & connected to server. I am loaded into a new world. Closed game. Stopped Valheim Docker. In the DB folder, there now exists two DB files with the same name (one larger than the other).

It is not possible that there are two files in the folder with the exact same name, maybe the name is spelled differently or it has a space in it or something like this. @luckyy has written a good guide about the basics from Valheim over on the support thread:

I would recommend to use bridge mode but that won't prevent the connection to the container. 2 hours ago, Rootsman said: validate instalation == true Please don't set this to ture because this will always force a validiation from the game files and the start takes much longer than usual. 2 hours ago, Rootsman said: Edit: the hole log befor it stops: The log looks perfectly fine and the server is waiting for connections. How did you try to connect or whats the issue? Have you made sure that the password is at least 6 characters?

You have enabled Valheim Plus from what I see from the log, make also sure that you've install Valheim Plus on your Client too (local Computer).
June 1, 20224 yr Well poop. I've been trying to get Valheim Plus added to my steam deck, but I can't find any instructions on the web. I don't play it on my laptop, but I installed it as a troubleshooting step. Thank you for the quick reply.

EDIT: Next time please post on the support thread from the container, I've only stumbled over this post by accident...
June 1, 20224 yr Those Linux steps don't work. I tried a similar method with another mod. EDIT: Ok, it does work if I just run the "start_game_bepinex.sh" file in file explorer, but not when I add it in the launch options. Edited June 1, 20224 yr by Lectoid

Then I would recommend that you open up a Issue on GitHub in the above linked post that those instructions doesn‘t work on the Deck. I can only tell you that those instructions work for me on Debian fine.
July 26, 20241 yr Any idea how to enable crossplay in this type of server? I can't seem to find the config file that launches the game (start_server.sh isn't sprecific to my setup, so I know that's not what Unraid/Docker is using) can I just ass -crossplay as a game parameter? thanks!

November 20, 2025Nov 20 When i enable validation flag to true the docker gets the latest version of Valheim but it resets my server data. What is wrong?

What is wrong?Sorry, I've overlooked your message.Possibly the path mapping is not correct, please check what paths that you have set for the gamefiles in the template, if you have set /mnt/cache/appdata/... then you have to make sure that the appdata share stays on the cache and is not moved to the array, so to speak the Mover takes no action in the share settings <- I would say this is the preferred settings. You can also change the path to /mnt/user/appdata/... which will most likely fix your issue but is not my preferred solution. For the future, if you have any such issues please go to the support thread from the container by clicking on the container icon on the Docker page and click Support.
December 28, 2025Dec 28 I'm having trouble finding where, and how, to upload my old world save fine to the server... I've tried creating a new folder called world, one called world_locan, tried putting the files in the world_local folder in savedate, the worlds_local in .config>unity3d>IronGate>Valheim>worlds_local. But no matter where I put them, the game just starts a new seed....

I managed to restore a backup from December 29.th (all others where empty new worlds) even though we had played until probably a few days ago with no issue. I tried to enable debugmode to rebuild what we lost. It lets me enable devcommands, but not debug mode, saying it's "Not valid in the current context" even though I copy-pasted my steam ID into the admin list.... I tried reinstalling the server. Letting it start and create a new world, upload my world files, and copy the neames of the new world over to my old files and deleting the new one. But it now again just starts a new world.Name: ValheimOverview:This Docker will download and install SteamCMD.
