Thoughts on this? All other metrics (that I've been caring about/graphing), appear to be parsing correctly.

I‘ll deprecate the Exporter if you report it broken, there should be a Docker Container out there which does exactly the same.

I've been using the SmartCTL exporter plugin for a while now and it seems to be broken as of 7.2.0. The full Prometheus Exporter plugin appears to be working as I'm getting other system stats. Just nothing in /metrics for "smart". I tried installing the smartctl container (not yours) to test and that's working but throwing a permissions error when it tries to grab the stats. Makes me wonder if the plugin is also running into a permissions problem with the 7.2 update.

Let me know what you need. The standard diags?

Thanks!

Definitely not since it runs as root.

Wont help here.

However maybe the script is now broken <- I wont fix that because of time constraints.

The pure Prometheus Exporter plugin appears to still be working. Would it be hard to add the smartctl metrics to that instead of fixing the separate smartctl plugin?

***Edit - I'm really concerned about drive temps more than anything. I'm mapping drive temps to Grafana to see if I've had a silent fan failure. It's easy to see over time, but sometimes harder to notice in the moment. Things like IO metrics are working in the Prom Exporter, but that might not be a smart metric. Anyway, I appreciate that you built these tools and that I've been able to take advantage of them for so long. Hope things are well with you!

Awesome! I tried downloading the plg file, editing it and then installing manually and it's not working. I'm guessing there's some additional packaging or perhaps I need the other files in the directory. Thanks for doing this for all of us, especially ich777! :)

This way it should work, if it doesn't maybe check force install otherwise it will not work since it will say "plugin: not reinstalling same version"
And you can't uninstall buggy version of the plugin either because it will faill

Only way is to force install and it should echo :
---Prometheus Node Exporter found, continuing!---

---Starting Prometheus smartctl Exporter---

@ich777 I edited my file following your recommandations

Please check for updates, I've pushed a full plugin update.

Auto-update works perfectly. Thanks for taking care of this!

@ich777 I am having issues with the node exporter plugin. It stopped working sometime last week, I uninstalled the plugin, and reinstalled and that didn't fix it. I updated from 7.2.0 to 7.2.2 and after reboot it started working but only worked for a little while and then it stopped showing data. If I navigate to the plugin URL http://10.11.12.6:9100/metrics it takes a LONG time for the data to load, so I can only assume the docker is timing out polling the plugin.

@ich777 Now it works more often but the plugin seems to be locking up, and there is missing data. Thank you for your help in advance.

What logs do you need me to send you?

The nvidia exporter - doesn't seem to export power usage properly
It's always 0w

Yet if I run :
nvidia-smi --query-gpu=power.draw --format=csv

I get :
power.draw [W]

49.52 W

Is this a limitation of the exporter? I have a GTX 1660ti

EDIT: I have been able to bypass this by running the nvidia dcgm-exporter alongside this plugin and switching my grafana dashboard power usage graph to use DCGM_FI_DEV_POWER_USAGE

I'm not sure if I'm stupid or can't follow instructions, but I cannot locate "Status -> Targets" in Prometheus.

Any assistance welcome.

Please create an issue in the appropriate support thread, this is the support thread from the Prometheus Plugins not Prometheus itself.

Click on the Docker icon in your WebUI and click Support.

Thanks.

Hi, since two or three days, the Fix Common Problems plugin reports:

The plugin prometheus_node_exporter.plg is not known to Community Applications and is possibly incompatible with your server.

Any ideas why and what to do?

I don't know, I didn't change anything.

Thanks for the fast reply! I've left a comment over in the Fix Common Problems Support Thread.
