Sorry. I'm not the maintainer of FolderView. I was just trying to find it by inspecting in browser. :-D
I don't know what "titel" you're referring to.

oh, i see. its @VladoPortos fork. Got confused by you posting it.

The titel in the folder.view.Dashboard.page needs to be removed. Thats it.

Gotcha. What an odd little issue. Glad you were aware enough to know how to fix it that easily! I would have never guessed that Title="Dashboard Folders" was causing that! Sheesh!

Folder View Plg is acting strange. It was operational. But when i wanted to edit or create a folder i would get the blank form detailed in the screenshot. I have uninstalled the plugin and lost my folders, export would not function. Re-installed then rebooted unraid. Tried to create folder and the settings screen is blank as screenshot and saves nothing. Is there something obvious i am missing or a cache i can dump to try start from scratch.

Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing.  I added a new docker and wanted to add it to an existing folder, but I'm getting the blank screen when I click on the folder name.  I'm not sure when this started, maybe 7.0.1?  It's been a while since I needed to edit my folders, but I'm pretty sure I've done it since 7.0.0.

Are you guys using the folderview on community apps or the temporary manual install from @VladoPortos?

The original, the community application version. I did see a comment about a github repo. But no reason or how to implement. I see not you had a big convo about it in the week just gone. I'm looking info that for the answer

5. Install @VladoPortos plugin by going to the plugins tab, clicking the Install Plugin tab, and pasting in the plugin's url:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/VladoPortos/folder.view/refs/heads/main/folder.view.plg (thanks @fr500)

Scroll back a few posts. I posted a full walkthrough with images of how to update the CA to the manual install.

If you want to wait, they are working on getting the CA version moved to the new repo.

If i reinstall the plugin from the link provided a few posts back, does it include the latest PR?

I was still on the community apps version, I somehow missed the post about the manual install.  Changed to the manual install and all is good.  Thanks!

Sorry this thread got pretty long so I didn't go through every single post but just wanted to check, do we *have* to update to Unraid 7 to get the new version of FolderView working? Because idk if it's been mentioned yet but it's broken on 6.x.x. versions too (which seems really bizarre to me, idk why it would spontaneously break), or at least it is on 6.12.15 for me. I wasn't wanting to update to 7 until there's been more time, but if the new FolderView isn't backwards compatible with 6.12, I'll just bite the bullet and update early I guess. I saw someone say you need to update to 7 before updating the plugin but idk if that was a hard rule or just a recommendation. Even the previous existing plugin image says "update incompatible" in Unraid's GUI so I imagine it is actually a hard rule.

Does anyone know why it spontaneously broke in 6.12.15? I'm using version 2024.10.02, pre-Unraid 7 and yeah my symptoms are just like as mentioned above; my existing folders persist but I can't modify them in any way, just a blank failure to load page.

It's not actually broken by Unraid itself, it's a clash between the Unraid Connect plugin and Folder View. So maybe the 6.12 version of Unraid Connect has the same issue now.

I'm in the same boat. I have updated 2 out of 3 of my servers to 7 and got FolderView going on those. But I have been reluctant to upgrade my main server to 7. I've added a few containers to it, though, and it's annoying me that I can't get them organized into folders with the broken FolderView install. :-/

Probably move to 7 this weekend. And I see 7.1 is in beta. So maybe most of the initial major release bugs will be ironed out. I'd like to see FOlderView updated on CA before I install on the main server. But I'm not sure how that process is going.

Any updates on getting your version on Community Apps, @VladoPortos? Thanks!

I haven't actually heard of a single bug in the latest 7 version, sounds like it was pretty vetted and stable, but yeah I don't like updating until pretty iterated releases. But that's just my habit and attempt to stick to best practices, probably won't run into any problems if I update. And yeah i'd also love if I could just update/re-install via community apps, the instructions in here seemed decently straightforward but... can't get much simpler and easy than a good ol one click install.

For everyone having issues with Folder view on 7.0.X Having Issues
TLDR:  Remove and Reinstall Folder View.

Ran into the issue of FolderView not being editable, and looks like this:

image.thumb.png.7729718b73fbb8699963d6197da7f442.png

Solution:

  1. Export existing config. (I didn't think of doing this, so I need to start over).
  2. Remove FolderView plugin.
  3. Manual install plugin https://raw.githubusercontent.com/VladoPortos/folder.view/refs/heads/main/folder.view.plg.  I have no idea why Unraid Plugin Manager didn't do this for us!!  Sure would have saved me problems.
  4. Import your exported config.

Anyone who ended up clicking export and copied the long text string (that wont import into the new Folder view as
A)its not JSON
B) it needs a file

Throw the long text string into an LLM (I used copilot) and tell it to convert it to JSON, and save as file.json
Then you can import file.json :)

HTH

It actually is a JSON, just needs to be decoded. Copy the text it gives you and run it through a decoder (like this one https://it-tools.tech/url-encoder), remove the text at the beginning before the first curly bracket ("data:text/plain;charset=utf-8,") and then save it as a .json. There's really no need to use an LLM for that.

@Squid @VladoPortos still no plugin in Ca ? can be added maybe as xml file availible in github?

Hi, I've recently installed the new version of the folderview plugin and all my webui icons (globe icons) have stopped working for my docker containers. I get the following popup when I click the icon and nothing happens if I press OK.

If i manually navigate to the webui address for any docker container, it works fine, just the globe icon doesn't work. Anyone know how to fix this?

Screenshot 2025-03-23 at 8.38.54 am.png

Is this still moving to another maintainer? I don't see much action?
Or the original got back maintaining it?
In apps it shows: Current Version 2025.01.11.1.
We shouldn't use that one?

(I am on 7.0.1)

The original version broken if you have unraid connect plugin, new author fixed but still no update on CA, only install from github.

It's best to read a couple of last pages to be updated what's going on 😉

its more adding this to folder view where one can add a Ip address and a port:

Taken from the docker template. As I know I can click the globe or use the menu.... it more a lazy convince thing.

I don't think it needs to be linked to any docker, it would be nice to add a custom webui to the full stack.

as I thought a custom webUI could be added to the:
image.thumb.png.2dfa7d5197a434f084d5792b1a21928d.png

This may be a custom action. Just not sure how to go about that in this scripting.
ATM I'm playing around with this.

Hey, I just submitted a pull request that implements this feature: https://github.com/VladoPortos/folder.view/pull/7

I was getting tired of looking at a dozen NC AIO containers... You're an angel. Thank you!

To download the plugin (may depend on OS):

  • right click or ctrl+click the *.plg url. Dialog should open.
