I myself run the regular no problem but I do have a very big server.Proton is just an extra layer on top of wine. It's 99% made for graphic performance of a game when you play with it, not when you just try to run the text base version (Server).

May 14May 14 EDIT: i was just stupid and didn't see the config file created in /r5/ , dont' mind these posts skip !Windrose , Tried both beta and xvfb (deleting steamcmd and windrose appdata folders inbetween)Can't get the server to fully start enough to even generate the config files i think .Or i'm being dumb and missed something . Windrose is a very problematic game server
May 14May 14 i was able to get the server to start enough to find the config file made in ./R5 BUT using another's template docker https://hub.docker.com/r/jcoker85/windrose/Maybe i should try the normal windrose and not the xvfb.... what's the difference ? there's not a clear description i can find anywhere

May 14May 14 Author xvfb is a framebuffer that emulated a window for games that require a screen to work. On the official FAQ, they say to use xvfb. I setup without xvfb first and added a way to have xvfb. That's the only difference. Both docker are using wine to run the game.Funny thing is jcoker is actually doing unraid template from ich777 like me. We have the exact same base. His docker run using xvfb like mine with xvfb. We even havec 99% the same script. The difference is he used a watchdog, I don't. I did see that way of doing things on other docker. It's more of a choice. Edited May 14May 14 by Nodiaque

May 14May 14 Yep i was just being stupid , SOOOO sorry to bother you , i thought for sure i checked under /R5 for the damn config file .. after the server was running for awhile .Well for anyone else reading this , if your log gets to this point (it will have errors/ warnings ! ) > Then your good to go , shut the container down , edit the config as in description , should be good to go .I was able to connect direct ip on my network to the server running fine . Next to forward the ports needed to access it from the Wan side .@Nodiaque so sorry for taking up your time !one other quick thing i noticed the steam logs appear to be saved inside the container ? at least quickly looking at the logs and mappings , but i could be mistaken Edited May 14May 14 by SerpentDrago
May 14May 14 Author There is no option to where the log file goes. Its just a - log. But, are you sure it's not under appdata? Since everything is installed in appdata, it should be under that folder
May 14May 14 specifically talking about this logging directory mentioned in the Containers unraid log (logging directory: '/serverdata/Steam/logs') the mount for appdata/windrose is /serverdata/serverfiles , and steamcmds is /serverdata/steamcmd , so wouldn't /serverdata/Steam fall outside this mount and thus be stored in the container ? could cause issues with space . I followed all of the directions, but when I run it for the second time after copying the files and making the changes I get these errors: When I try to load into the world it loads the character, but the world has a blank map and none of the buildings are built. In the worlds folder it has now created a new world ID and has changed the World ID to that one in the ServerDescription.jsonAny ideas?Thank you!

They are calls to the Development Libraries on the actual dev machines that we don't have as server hosts / players. It's widely known the verbosity of the logs and the amount of null reporting due to issue like this make reading the actual errors of the log files hard as hell. These errors should not be an issue, however, Kraken Express does need to address this, and soon, as the logfiles could get out of hand with the number of errors recorded per hour. I'd just keep an eye on the size of your log files if you have a few players and your server runs 24/7. It really should not be a problem you need to worry about.Regarding your saves/world: This is not an issue of the docker or the server, this is an issue of the Update Kraken Express put out back on May 5thIf you join the discord server for Windrose, and look at this guide post I had pinned: https://discord.com/channels/1260209458924224542/1493764667074412797/1501115366062035065 You'll find solutions in the guide, links to discussions, and links to the FAQ's from Kraken Express with solutions to your World save issue. You can either save the configuration and savegame of the game, delete everything else and start again or delete the file appmanifest_*.json under /steamapps in the appdata folder.You can also try to add a VALIDATE Env to the template and set it to true. This will force the validate statement and sometime it solve that problem.
June 27Jun 27 Author Hello, as stated in the FAQ, in the first page and in the docker description, the docker doesn't contain the game itself thus doesn't have any version. To update, simply restart the docker to restart steam and download the latest version. Sometime, the steamcmd doesn't detect change and you need to delete a file (see second post) to force the update.
