miccos
Never mind, working now. biiiink not sure what your network type is set to but mine was 'Host' so i changed to 'Bridge' that didn't work so i changed back to 'Host' and my server was then found. Not sure what was going on but might be worth a try. I managed to get mine starting, now in the same boat as biiiink though, can't find server and being told to download plex media server. Help is much appreciated. Oh and just an FYI, my original issue was from pointing to an invalid location for my Trans_code file. Needed to set it to /config/transcode not mnt/cache/appdata/... I followed binhex instructions (Probably borked it up somewhere) and its transcoding to /tmp in the rootfs, so every morning unraid is dead with rootfs at 100% till I reboot. Not sure how I messed up the configuration Quote Link to comment

Thanks ok ive just goone through a clean setup of plex to remind myself what steps are required, and its pretty basic to be honest, so this is how it should go:- 1. stop any existing plex containers and delete both image and container 2. delete all files and folders for plex, as defined via the host path for the /config volume mapping (obviously do NOT delete your media). 3. pull down this image (as in binhex-plex). 4. configure the docker container (please post a screenshot of how you have it configured showing all options, make sure to turn on advanced view) and then start the container 5. left click on the plex icon and select web ui 6. walk through the wizard, you can skip adding media if you like to ensure its up and running first (you can add media later). 7. refresh the page if it doesn't take you to the end of the process, this should then show you the plex main screen with options to add media, configure settings etc. have a go with the above, it really should be straight forward and def is not broken. MrFryRye
The following solution worked for me, but reading through this post, it might be a hit and miss situation. I changed WebUI under advanced settings to https://app.plex.tv/desktop. That fixed the problem for me. FYI - binhex, I tried your solution above and it worked temporally which was very odd, then I was back to square one. PS Thanks for all the hard work you're putting in to these Dockers. I don't want you to think the effort has gone unnoticed. Regards, MrFryRye Quote Link to comment

I temporarily plugged everything in to my ISP's router, and checked to see if plex could find the server and it did. I went out and bought an Asus RT-AC86U. Configured it, and its now back to the same issue. The log is identical regardless of the router setup being usedCreated by...___. .__ .__\_ |__ |__| ____ | |__ ____ ___ ___| __ \| |/ \| | \_/ __ \\ \/ /| \_\ \ | | \ Y \ ___/ > |___ /__|___| /___| /\___ >__/\_ \\/ \/ \/ \/ \/https://hub.docker.com/u/binhex/2018-06-28 12:47:16.478725 [info] Host is running unRAID2018-06-28 12:47:16.515124 [info] System information Linux Titania 4.14.49-unRAID #1 SMP Mon Jun 11 16:21:07 PDT 2018 x86_64 GNU/Linux2018-06-28 12:47:16.584084 [info] PUID defined as '99'2018-06-28 12:47:16.631235 [info] PGID defined as '100'2018-06-28 12:47:16.793320 [info] UMASK defined as '000'2018-06-28 12:47:16.835369 [info] Permissions already set for volume mappings2018-06-28 12:47:16.876573 [info] TRANS_DIR defined as '/config/transcode'2018-06-28 12:47:17.217636 [info] Starting Supervisor...2018-06-28 12:47:17,588 INFO Included extra file "/etc/supervisor/conf.d/plexmediaserver.conf" during parsing2018-06-28 12:47:17,588 INFO Set uid to user 0 succeeded2018-06-28 12:47:17,593 INFO supervisord started with pid 72018-06-28 12:47:18,595 INFO spawned: 'plexmediaserver' with pid 472018-06-28 12:47:18,595 INFO reaped unknown pid 82018-06-28 12:47:19,611 INFO success: plexmediaserver entered RUNNING state, process has stayed up for > than 1 seconds (startsecs) I have re-run through this support page again: https://support.plex.tv/articles/204604227-why-can-t-the-plex-app-find-or-connect-to-my-plex-media-server/ The Docker is up to date and running there is no VPN or Proxies running on the router or Unraid I've also tried temporarily disabling the firewall on the new router with no success. So I'm sure it is a setting on the Asus router, but I have no clue what it could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated One thought, does your new router have IP spoofing protection? this might be triggered by the fact docker uses its own network range, try turning off any lan firewalling.Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Quote Link to comment

Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk I've looked through all the settings in the router. I dont see anything referring to IP spoofing. I've also already tried turning off the firewall completely and it does not fix the issue Quote Link to comment

So I tried installing PMS of my Mac Mini and it works behind my own router. So now I assume it doesn't have something to do with my router. Maybe something in my unraid setup? Quote Link to comment
PhilDG
Hi, How do I update the server version. My client is saying server version 1.3.0.0 or higher required. When I load the page on my PC, it says that the new version (1.13.4.5251) is available - how do I update this? I have tried restarting the docker. Quote Link to comment

I have tried restarting the docker. assuming you are a unraid user its dead easy, you simply go to the unraid web ui, docker tab, click on 'check for updates' button at the bottom of the screen, if there are any updates pending then you will then see an additional button appear to install the updates, or if you want to automate this then install the excellent CA auto update plugin. mfjonesy
I'm having an issue with certain files not being read by Plex. It's a TV show and only one episode per season is showing up even though they are all named the same way. I'm assuming it's some sort of permissions issue. I can play back all the episodes fine on another PC using SMB. I downloaded the shows using the binhex DelugeVpn docker image from CA. The only other service I'm running is a Ubuntu VM. I've never had a problem like this and as far I know nothing changed to cause it. I've also tried the limetech plex docker container but that was having the same issue. Does anyone have any idea how I might be able to fix it? Thanks Edited September 23, 2018 by mfjonesy Quote Link to comment
