windows credentials password error PLS help

Recommended Posts

Hi guys please help I'm on the verge of a mental breakdown

so yesterday night i had an power outage and when i started my NAS this morning windows credentials asked for password but every time i entered my password would say password incorrect

that was happening only on pc or linux the smart tv had no issues accessing the NAS

after hours of trying to fix the problem i went to tools and new permissions and that took 20 min but it fixed it

but now is asking again for password but going to tools and new permissions doesn't fix it anymore

Does anyone have any idea what can i do ?

I'm also getting the nginx error.  The client IP referenced is my main PC.  Seems like there is something on the PC that can't authenticate, but how would I go about finding what that is?  I don't see anything relevant in the Windows Event Logs.  Any ideas?

I ended up discovering that the Windows Photos app was attempting to access an old share that I had recently deleted.  Unfortunately there wasn't anything that pointed me toward that conclusion, just a general sense that there was SOMETHING on my main computer that was trying to access an Unraid share that it didn't have access to.  In any case, I deleted the Windows Photos app and the errors stopped.

I hope this info is helpful to somebody!

Searching the forum for the message I got above and found this thread. I have well over 30 lines of the same message in my log. It the first time I've seen this. The client ip is for my Windows 10 PC.

Any ideas?

Thanks kindly...

Probably a software on your main computer scanning the network.

Either a "helpful" anti-virus / anti-malware / firewall / ... ; or some malware trying to spread and do mischief.

The first case is quite frequent but you should check and get to the bottom of this.

Also having these random errors show up in my unraid logs (referencing a couple of workstations on the network); and my staff is complaining of slow/timeout access to some shares...but when i try to access the same files (from other PC's on the network), there is no issues and it uses the network speed available to it!
I need to get to the bottom of this as my staff are finding "creative" ways of getting around this (instead of telling me), that is causing chaos and files to be put in random places.
