  1. Great installation scripts! I just used you Plex plugin. For some reason it created a new directory Plex Media Server directory under /apps/Plex/Library/Plex Media Server instead of using my old library located at /apps/Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server. All fixed though. All fixed after following instructions and chown the library folder to nobody/users. The old library had unraid-plex user as the owner which prevented Plex from starting.
  2. Midnight Commander is included by default, both on unraid 5 and 6, just type mc to start it You are absolutely correct! I must be very tired. I remoted in to my esxi server instead of unrad. lol! Thanks!
  3. Just successfully finished moving my main server over from 5.0.5 to 6b5a. Also cleaned a lot of files in the process. I'm wondering where midnight commander went in unraid v6. Can anyone please give me directions on how in re-install it? Thanks!
  4. That was fast and easy lol! Thanks a lot! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks for this script. I added it to back up my apps folder on the cache drive. Can you also write a script to restore the backup? Thanks!
  6. Nice release. Upgraded from rc16c and no issues so far. Thanks Tom!
  7. Since you are running ESXI according to you sig, you can just open the VMware Vsphere Client and attach the unraid boot vmdk to another VM. You can then make edits to the VMDK. PS: If you don't have another VM, you can create one or use the unraid boot vm and use a live CD/ISO and boot from it.
  8. Thank you very much! Installed and working great!
  9. I voted to release -rc16b so I can upgrade from rc12a and test on my server. Thanks!
  10. I'll take this into a different thread to avoid highlacking. Stay tuned... John Can't wait to see your write up!
  11. I will definitely try this over the weekend. I will try it with my raspberry pi though which would maje it more difficult to do?
  12. Yes, remove it from your Go file. Starting with RC9, it has the newer samba version 3.6.10
  13. You are correct. the normal behavior of an RDM is similar to a Thin Provisioned virtual disk. in moving or coping it, it expands (or so it thinks) the physical disk to the image. Basically, it copies the actual RDM drive (not only does it trick the guest, it apparently tricks itself). here are the actual instructions from VMWare http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1005241 When I migrated mine, honestly, I just created a new RDM on the new drive., then had the guest point to the new RDM. I only had one or 2 disks to migrate. It was only a minute recreate and to change the guest over. it stopped me from bashing my head on the wall. I did what you suggested and saved me a lot of frustration. Why did I not just create a new RDM on the new Datastore? lol! Thanks for the advice!
  14. Johnm, I just installed a 240GB SSD for my second datastore. I currently have a 1TB Datastore which contain an 400GB RDM pointer for my cache drive. How can I move that RDM to the SSD datastore? Every time I move the RDM, I ran out of space. Doing "du -sh *.vmdk" on the RDM folder gives the correct size: 0 unRaidCache-rdmp.vmdk 64.0K unRaidCache.vmdk
  15. I've been using Astraweb for quite a while now with their yearly subscription (about $8/month) but I also bought a block account from Blocknews.net as a backup server to get the incomplete files from Astraweb. Works pretty well
  16. I am hiving this issue as well. Only happens with jpg files in my cache drive thought.
  17. Finally finished the update from b12a to RC8a and so far so good. Now I get SG_IO: bad/missing sense data, sb.. on my console and Unraid always think my cache drive is spun-down (blinking green) on the device status page. My cache drive is working fine though. I don't get the error messages if I revert to 12a. My setup is unRAID on ESXi with my cache drive as RDM (Raw Device Mapping)
  18. I have not downloaded any of the RCs but this is half the size of the betas. I just checked the size of RC6 and it is also small at 35MB Time to update from b12a
  19. Did you come from 4.7? Most likely you are having permission issues. Check step four below and re-check the steps below. http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=UnRAID_Server_Version_5.0-beta_Release_Notes From Version 4.7 1. Prepare the flash: either shutdown your server and plug the flash into your PC or Stop the array and perform the following actions referencing the flash share on your network: Copy the files bzimage and bzroot from the zip file to the root of your flash device, overwriting the same-named files already there. If present, delete these files from the flash (sorry, you will have to re-enter all your users after booting this release): config/passwd config/shadow config/smbpasswd 2. Reboot your server. Once boot-up has completed, you should see "Stopped. Configuration valid." array status with all disks assigned correctly except for the Cache disk. If you previously had a Cache disk assigned, you will need to re-assign it manually and re-apply any unique configuration settings for it. 3. Carefully examine the Identification strings for each disk. If you see "MBR: error", or "MBR: unknown" for any disk, do not Start the array; instead post your finding in the Forum announcement thread for this release. If everything looks ok, click Start to bring the array on-line. Note: there is a new configuration setting on the Disk Settings page called "Enable auto start". If you set this to "Yes", then upon next server boot, if the array is valid, then it will be automatically Started (this is the old behavior). 4. Go to Utils/New Permissions and execute that utility to change file ownership and permission settings. This is necessary for proper operation of the 5.0 security model. 5. Go to Users page and re-enter all of your users. If you plan on using SMB and/or AFP with either Secure or Private security mode, you must enter at least one user because the 'root' user name is no longer permitted for network share authentication.
  20. Lowered price to MB, CPU, RAM, combo. Father's day sale!
  21. Hello everyone! Selling these since I have virtualized my unRAID server late last year but kept these for backup purposes. The virtualized unRAID has been running perfectly for months now so I can let these go References: Ebay: FrankB_XYZ or Heat: SCSI Will accept Paypal only with non-CC payment preferred. Continental US only. References: Ebay: FrankB_XYZ or Heat: SCSI EDIT: Price drop on the Klipsch 5.0 speakers!
  22. Thanks p1lot for the walk through. I had issues having openelec use the mySQL database. XBMC/openelec can now access the mySQL database after removing "<name>xbmc_video</name>" and "<name>xbmc_music</name>" from the advancedsettings.xml. I can't believe I missed that from comparing different tutorials. After restarting openelec, MyMusic18 and MyVideos60 was created automatically in mySQL
