  1. binhex/arch-qbittorrentvpn:latest or 5.2 is broken, had to downgrade to binhex/arch-qbittorrentvpn:5.1
  2. I uninstalled it, the plugin is broken says it moved 5TB but instead it did only 900GB, logs show nothing useful.
  3. nerdtools just worked; i tried un-get, and it is not smart enough to figure out that in order to run something, you might need other libraries too i installed powertop and then it didn't work because it needed something else "powertop: error while loading shared libraries: libnl-genl-3.so.200: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" i installed mktorrent and it also didn't work because it needed something else to run "mktorrent: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypto.so.1.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" i installed mediainfo and it needed two other libraries to work, you get the idea, installing a package manually is not enough; you also need to figure out what other dependencies that package has, nerdtools did all that for us
  4. Server webui stops working, most docker containers still respond but the smb shares stop working. If it try to login via command line it timeouts after 60 seconds. I have to restart the server, happens every 5 days to so, I think something is filling my RAM but not sure what, transcoding is done on disk. There might be something wrong with SMB shares but don't know what, diagnostics below. tower-diagnostics-20250725-2005.zip
  5. I have been having the same issue with a SAMSUNG FIT Plus. The only way I can fix it is to move the USB stick to a different port which means I need to always be next to the server, which defeats the purpose of having a server. I asked in discord and they kept telling me it is my hardware, their software is fine. If my hardware is the problem, what hardware is your OS is supporting? Where can I find a list of supported motherboards, processors, hard drives etc?
  6. I have a similar problem and I would rather not have to completely power down the UPS since the router is also connected to it. Is there a solution to this? If I need a different UPS, which ones support this function?
  7. I am also having issues with booting from the usb stick, this is a samsung fit 3.1. Samsung no longer sells usb 2.0 sticks in 2024, at least not in my area. It fails during the boot with error 'unable to enumerate usb device', then i have to press enter to reboot. Tried this 3 times then i gave up and reinstalled the OS from a flash backup. This fixed the issue and managed to boot in, then I decided to see how stable it is so I rebooted the system another 5 times in a row. The 5th time it failed with the same i/o errors and 'unable to enumerate usb device' and again I had to restore from a flash backup to be able to boot back in. I didn't try to boot the server another 5 times because this is obviously an issue with the OS getting corrupted somehow and failing to check something, probably the usb stick hardware ID. Fast boot is disabled in bios. Not sure why in 2024 we are still keeping the OS on a flash drive, if it is a licensing concern you could always do a check via internet once in a while based on some hardware ID.
  8. I am on 7.0.0-beta.4 and this parameter isn't added by default.
  9. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/filecab/accessing-a-third-party-nas-with-smb-in-windows-11-24h2-may-fail/4154300 If you are on Win11 pro 24h2 check the article above, there's even more policies you will have to turn off or you won't be able to access your SMB share. On the Start Menu search, type gpedit and start the Edit Group Policy app (i.e. Local Group Policy Editor). In the console tree, select Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings> Local Policies > Security Options. Double-click Microsoft network client: Digitally sign communications (always). Select Disabled > OK.
  10. Webui for mobile device.
  11. They released 7.0.0-beta.1, so I copied back the old kernel files and upgraded.
  12. Thanks for the guide, no problems so far, let's hope the system stays stable.
  13. I found a cheap arc 750 and bought it, is there a good video tutorial around I can follow to update the kernel and make it work until unraid supports it officially?
  14. Does current version of unraid support intel arc gpu? this thread is like 2 years old and confuses me. Can someone give an yes or no answer?
  15. I have a cwwk n305 and the transcoding performance is very poor for bluray videos with a bitrate higher than 40mbit. The igpu is an alder lake n and from what other people posted on reddit this igpu isn't properly supported by current unraid kernel. During transcode the igpu barely hits 10% usage. This igpu is supposed to be able to transcode a lot of 4k vids in paralel as far as I am aware since it supports quicksync, am I doing something wrong or is just a matter of waiting for an unraid kernel upgrade?

Thanks for your detailed response, I don't have any PCI lanes I can use which is why I was looking at an usb-c connection.

If the drives are connected through USB will I able to add them to the existing array where I already have 12 drives? Basically go from 12 to 20 drives in the same array with 8 hdd connected via usb in a jbod. From what I was able to find online, it seems that you are forced to create a separate pool with the jbod drives, is that true?

So there's no other solution unless I upgrade the motherboard in the future?

I reached the limit of my NAS motherboard which is 12 drives, no more PCI lanes I can use to add more drives, unless I remove the cache pool which is a no go. Now my question is if you add a JBOD and connect it via usb type C can the additional drives be added to the existing array? Or maybe someone has a better solution to expand storage than what I was able to find online, for reference I am using a mini itx n305 motherboard https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Motherboard-SATA3-0-HDMI2-0-Routing-Firewall/dp/B0CWYTMLBL?th=1 Thanks!
  20. Unraid started copying files to an emulated drive. I am moving about 80 TB worth of data from my PC and noticed that the system filled half of the other drives and now copies data to an emulated drive. I had to remove one of the drives due to lack of SATA ports on an old motherboard that shares lanes with the m2, can someone please explain to me how the emulated drive works? I will be able to add another 8 drives once my n305 motherboard arrives from China, is it safe to store my data on an emulated drive until then?

If auto selects read/modify/write all the time, what is the point of having an auto option that does nothing?
