  1. I'm pretty sure this is the problem with my shutdowns. The other day when I manually stopped Docker it would not start again. I had forgotten the commands to stop Docker so tried to reboot. I think every time I restart Docker is not shutting down.
  2. Disable sleep for the unRAID address in Edge. I can't believe I'm using Edge now... Never thought I'd see the day, but on Windows I can't seem to get around that it works the best.
  3. OK, I have been suspicious of sleep tabs with this issue because the log balloons when I have not accessed the tab in many hours (typically overnight). I did try completely closing the tab which I think would have done the trick, but I'll try turning off sleep. I don't know how to that, but I have Google. Regarding other devices, as I said in the first post, I have made sure no other devices have unRAID browser tabs open and I do not even own any Android devices except ShieldTV's that only use Kodi and Plex; no web browsers. I am running OPNSense, I wonder if there could be something there. All that aside, this didn't start until 6.12.x. Other than changing the name and file format of my Docker and VM cache pool to zfs, nothing else that I can think of has changed. And the hard shutdowns and parity checks upon reboot are also suspicious and frustrating. It seems like the server is shutting down cleanly. The VM's shut down, the apps stop, and everything seems fine; then parity check on reboot.

  6. After reboot: Now the log will slowly start to grow. If it helps, the log seems to grow exponentially if I go a long time without "looking" at the unRAID web GUI. That said, I have tried shutting the unRAID web GUI tab and the behavior persists.
  7. To make this post and get all the screenshots I wanted I had to shutdown Docker. When I tried to restart Docker, it would not restart so I had to reboot the whole server. I did save syslog.1 before I rebooted in case anyone needs to see it. I don't want to post it because I am not sure if it contains any sensitive information. Please PM me if you require a copy of syslog.1 Thanks again.
  8. Since upgrading to 6.12.x my log has been filling up: This is what it will do: This is where it is now after 21 hours uptime: I do not have any open browsers except the one tab in Microsoft Edge that is on a Windows 11 VM running on the unRAID server itself. I do not even own any Android devices except ShieldTV's and I have made certain no other computer has an unRAID tab open. My Dockers are using ipvlan and I have a Coffee Lake processor, not a Rocket Lake processor. If I run: truncate -s 0 /var/log/syslog Some of the log space is reclaimed, but not all. If I look in "/var/log/" I can see logs growing, but truncating them does not free up anymore log memory, and the log graph will continue to increase. root@unRAID:/var/log# ls -l total 1692 -rw------- 1 root root 0 Jun 29 11:59 btmp -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Apr 28 2021 cron -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Apr 28 2021 debug -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 92709 Jul 8 11:34 dmesg -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3419 Jul 8 11:35 docker.log -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7008 Jul 8 11:34 faillog -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1 Jul 9 08:52 gitcount -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3683 Jul 9 08:52 gitflash -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 104433 Jul 9 08:56 ipmifan -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 63948 Jul 8 11:34 lastlog drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 140 Jul 8 11:35 libvirt/ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1191 Jul 9 00:20 maillog -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Jul 8 11:34 mcelog -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Apr 28 2021 messages drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 40 Aug 10 2022 nfsd/ drwxr-x--- 2 nobody root 60 Jul 8 11:34 nginx/ lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 Jun 29 11:58 packages -> ../lib/pkgtools/packages/ drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 100 Jul 8 11:34 pkgtools/ drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 460 Jul 8 11:34 plugins/ drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 60 Jul 8 11:34 preclear/ drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 40 Jul 8 11:37 pwfail/ lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 25 Jun 29 11:59 removed_packages -> pkgtools/removed_packages/ lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 Jun 29 11:59 removed_scripts -> pkgtools/removed_scripts/ lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 34 Jul 8 11:34 removed_uninstall_scripts -> pkgtools/removed_uninstall_scripts/ drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 40 Jan 30 12:03 sa/ drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 340 Jul 8 11:34 samba/ lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 Jun 29 11:58 scripts -> ../lib/pkgtools/scripts/ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Apr 28 2021 secure lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 Jun 29 11:58 setup -> ../lib/pkgtools/setup/ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Apr 28 2021 spooler drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 60 Sep 27 2022 swtpm/ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Jul 9 08:54 syslog -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1488695 Jul 9 04:40 syslog.1 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 80 Jul 8 11:34 unraid-api/ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5392 Jul 8 11:34 vfio-pci -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Jul 8 11:34 vfio-pci-errors -rw-rw-r-- 1 root utmp 6912 Jul 8 11:34 wtmp root@unRAID:/var/log# Deleting syslog.1 does nothing. I've exhausted what I know. I will have to revert back to 6.11.5 if a solution cannot be reached quickly as I am going out of town for three weeks I my family will need to use the server for Plex and Kodi. The only thing I changed was to delete my btrsf pool called "pool", and recreate it as a zfs pool called vssd. My dockers and VM's are stored on that pool. I went into all the Dockers and fixed their parameters to reflect the name change. Thank you for any and all help. unraid-diagnostics-20230709-0836.zip unraid-syslog-20230709-1339.zip

  10. Please help. I am about to undo my zfs pools and go back to 6.11.5. I'm leaving town the end of next week and the server cannot be crashing. It hasn't crashed yet, but my log will fill to 100% in the bar graph. I dumped my syslog last night with "truncate -s 0 /var/log/" but luckily (cough) there are many new error this morning. I also tried to truncating EVERY log file and the log percentage used dropped, but not all the way back do to 1-2% as it used to be. Thank you!!! unraid-diagnostics-20230706-1003.zip
  11. And I am using IPVLAN and the problems persist.
  12. That is for using RAM as the temporary directory rather than your SSD or spinner. There are other parameters that need adjusting to actually make the temporary directory usable though.
  13. You may want to make sure your iGPU is set as the primary GPU in your BIOS. Not AUTO or PEG.
  14. I don't think you have the two backslashes?
  15. Try typing this n Windows Explorer: \\192.168.20.150 Press enter. Windows should prompt you for credentials. Navigate to "backup" or whatever. Right click and select "map network drive." All that said, I think you may just be missing the "\\" backslashes.
  16. I'm not having any issues, but I always map by IP not name. Using IP is always considered good form. I used to use network name, but a long time ago it suddenly stopped working inexplicably. I never even try anymore. vssd is a zfs pool, storage is a RAID0 BTRSF pools, cache is the cache drive, Media and Media_4K are user shares, and disk7 and disk18 are disc shares. I think that covers the gamut.
  17. I don't have a Rocket lake CPU and I already have my Docker set to ipvlan. What am I missing here?
  18. I'll start a thread, but I'm Coffee Lake here. unraid-diagnostics-20230703-1654.zip unraid-syslog-20230703-2156.zip
  19. Thanks for all the great Dockers binhex, I almost always use your templates when available. I decided to try your Sonarr for the first time tonight and I almost hit a snafu. You may want to delete or update this page: https://github.com/binhex/documentation/blob/master/docker/faq/sonarr.md I changed the repository based on that info. Fortunately, I also came to this thread before starting the Docker and saw this post at the top before I actually started: Kind regards.
  20. OK, I had my Windows 11 laptop on an unRAID browser last night while I was working on the upgrade from 6.12.1 to 6.12.2. I think I left the laptop on and the battery ran out at 03:31:07. Does this seem like a plausible scenario? Thank you!
  21. I don't own any android devices except for Shield TV's that are used for video playback with Kodi and Plex, never browsers. It's possible that I had another Windows or Ubuntu machine open last night with another browser on unRAID. Typically, the only unRAID browser open is on the Windows 11 VM running on unRAID its self.
  22. I spoke too soon. I have this error repeating every one second between Jun 30 03:30:47 through Jun 30 03:31:07. Then it stops. I know that I didn't intervene because I was asleep. 23. Fortunately or unfortunately it's not syslog that's filling up.
  24. Sorry and thanks. For some reason I either didn't get a notification or didn't notice it.
  25. Nothing will be interrupted, but of course you'll have to reboot for the upgrade to take effect. I'd want to be present during a first reboot after the OS is upgraded in case there is a problem. So if it just reboots on a schedule, will you be comfortable with assuming it works?
