  1. That sounds great! I'd really prefer to keep everything on full https Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
  2. Yeah, and then nobody reads it except to point out that it is out of date LOL
  3. Also, just a heads up that there are a number of broken images on the CA Help page /Settings/caHelp
  4. A number of app templates load images insecurely: <Icon>http://i.imgur.com/4RhSj6J.png</Icon> which "breaks the lock" on the CA page when Unraid is loaded over https. Is there any way to alert developers to fix their templates short of contacting them individually? And/or can CA auto-fix the ones that are loaded on well known domains such as imgur?
  5. Just a tip, if you want to test the new GUI but aren't ready to upgrade your main system, you can run unRAID in a VM on unRAID: It is not officially supported, but it is a great way to test out the new functionality.
  6. It is on the Upgrade Notes in two separate places already Interesting though, the notes say "the Update Assistant could have warned you of this in advance", so I guess it used to warn about that but no longer does?
  7. Note that users of LT's LE SSL certs need to keep this set to "auto" or there will be problems down the road. From the help:
  8. I like the banner that runs across the top of the page alerting you when there is a new version of unRAID, but when you click it, it immediately starts the install without giving you the chance to read the release notes. Please consider changing this behavior, it seems like it should take you to the /Tools/Update page rather than automatically starting the install.
  9. In fact, it did I actually didn't like that though, because it applied the update without a confirmation and without giving you the option to read the release notes. Maybe my issue is more with the banner than this plugin
  10. Hi Squid, would you consider adding a third button labeled "Update OS" that takes you here? /Tools/Update That is the next logical step after running the tests. I've been running the update assistant on two systems for every beta release, and adding this direct link would save some clicks.
  11. There were a few commits I wanted to test and I thought "no big deal, I'll just put a quick wrapper on 'patch' and grab those updates." Well, it turns out 'patch' has a few shortcomings and by the time I was happy with the script there had been two more RCs and I completely forgot what I was so interested in testing But at least the script is ready for next time! Agreed. This should only be used on a test system!
  12. Bleeding Edge Toolkit If the RCs are just too pedestrian for you, and you want to run the latest webui code from GitHub instead, check out the Bleeding Edge Toolkit: https://gist.github.com/ljm42/83f41014c871f237c93c5a805086e30f I call it a "toolkit" because for the most part it is still up to you to decide which patches to install. I provide some examples, but I don't intend to update this every time there is a commit. Instructions are in the script, but the idea is that you modify the script to install the patches you want and then set the script to run at first array start, at which point it will automatically download and install the patches for you. You can also run it manually every time you add a new patch to the list. Big disclaimer... this is intended to be used on test systems only. The developers are certainly not intending unreleased code to be used in production systems. If you are interested in testing at this level, installing unRAID in a VM is a good place to start:
  13. Oh, one downside to Crashplan is that it takes a lot of RAM. They recommend 1GB/RAM per 1TB/data: https://support.code42.com/CrashPlan/6/Troubleshooting/Adjust_Code42_app_settings_for_memory_usage_with_large_backups although in my experience it isn't quite as bad as that. I wouldn't expect the rsync solution to have any such requirements.
  14. It is kind of funny, we go years with no backups and no worries, but then once we finally decide we need a backup, we feel more at risk than ever during the initial upload What I like about CrashPlan is that it is a true backup solution, with unlimited versions and restoration of deleted files. I don't know about rsync and Google specifically, but in a typical syncing scenario if you delete a file locally it will be deleted from the remote system at the next sync. Or if your local files are encrypted by malware, the sync tool will dutifully overwrite your remote files with the encrypted local ones, rendering the remote copy useless too. To help deal with the long initial upload to Crashplan you can create backup sets. Put all your family photos and personal documents in the highest priority set and they will be backed up first, then put your Movies and TV Shows in a lower priority set and let them get backed up over time. As a Comcast customer, my biggest concern is not the upload speed, but the amount of data to be uploaded. Their 1TB/month transfer cap counts uploads too, and the fees for exceeding that are excessive.

I'd start by removing and reseating the dimms, maybe you'll get lucky. Next step is probably to replace them, unless someone else has ideas.
  16. Yeah, the paths are filled in so it isn't the usual problem. I'd uninstall the preclear plugin. It is known to cause problems in 6.4.x. I'd upgrade to 6.4.1 as well. There isn't really much point in troubleshooting on an outdated version.
  17. What would be better is having the system realize the path is on an unassigned device, and adjusting the setting automatically:
  18. @Mettbrot, Does this plugin work on unRAID 6.4.0 and 6.4.1 ? One user had issues and I'm wondering if CA needs to mark it as incompatible? edit - hmm, that person might not be on 6.4.1 after all. I have asked for clarification.
  19. When editing docker volumes in advanced mode, our "access mode" setting includes six options: Read Write (private) Read Write shared Read write slave Read Only (private) Read Only shared Read Only slave I believe that all six are valid for host paths that are on the array or cache drive, but only the shared/slave bind propagation options are valid for unassigned devices. Can we add smarts to the webgui to handle this? In advanced editing mode - if the selected host path is under /mnt/disks/ (i.e. an unassigned device) the "private" options should be suppressed. In basic editing mode - since the settings are not visible, if the selected host path is under /mnt/disks/ it should automatically use "slave" (or "shared"?) This will eliminate problems related to docker not being able to access files on unassigned devices. In terms of documentation, this page describes how to mount volumes: https://docs.docker.com/storage/volumes/ and descriptions of private/slave/shared are here: https://docs.docker.com/storage/bind-mounts/#configure-bind-propagation Interestingly, it seems like "shared" might be the most flexible mode of all. I wonder if it should be the default everywhere?
  20. I'm glad to hear it Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
  21. Oh I see, click the "Advanced View" button in the upper right corner. That enables the Edit button.
  22. Sorry, I don't understand why there isn't an edit button there, maybe someone else will have an idea
  23. When I edit my Plex docker I the first screenshot below. When I click the Edit button i see the second.
