  1. We will be buying and building a ryzen test rig. Folks looking to leverage this chipset would do best to wait for our feedback. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  2. Are you guys talking about the home page or new forums? The forums are on a completely different server and service provider from the home page. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  3. That is the crux of this whole discussion. ipv6 support doesn't really enable us to do anything with the OS that we couldn't do before (or at least that is our impression at the current moment). Again, we are purely looking for someone to show us what enabling ipv6 will enable them to do that they can't do today. For users that have no option for ipv4 support in their equipment, well, that is honestly surprising to hear. Maybe in certain areas around the world, that's happening faster than here in the US, because I haven't seen any provider here move to 100% ipv6 support only. But that might be because we own the majority of ipv4 addresses in the US (the US DoD alone has 42,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 of them; no, that's not an exaggerated figure). So if the case is "we're seeing a dramatic increase in the abandoning of ipv4 by Internet service providers in consumer and business markets across the globe, so supporting ipv6 in unRAID is a requirement for customers in those scenarios," then you have a case, but only if those providers also abandon it for local NAT purposes as well. If CPE (customer premise equipment) can't support unRAID because unRAID lacks ipv6 support, that is a problem we absolutely care about.
  4. Aterfax, let's try to calm down a bit. This is a forum discussion. Statements like these... ...aren't helpful to your cause. Want to win this debate? Focus on making your case for something instead of making it about us being against something. And again, let me be clear here: ipv6 is on our roadmap. The discussion here now is shifting to why it needs to be prioritized. I would argue that encryption is a far more useful and valuable feature that deserves to be put in front of ipv6 support. Furthermore, just look at the feature request board and argue for why ipv6 should be #1 above all the rest. I could name 10 things on that list that are more deserving of prioritization than ipv6. ...really? Anecdotal. If you can cite specific examples of apps that flat out won't work without ipv6 support, I would be interested in reviewing that list. Please provide concrete examples that would apply to unRAID (applications would be best). Citing general benefits in this manner isn't useful to the discussion. This isn't a reason to support the technology. There are numerous gas stations that have power recharge options for electric cars; doesn't mean that all cars should come with electric motors. This may be the most reasonable case you've presented, but I don't know how to quantify it. I have seen someone in this thread state this, but how many are actually affected by it, I don't know. I will take this idea up with the dev team for feedback. Thank you for the suggestion.
  5. Mentioned this in the other thread as well, but yeah, we ran into sending limits with the cutover that we hadn't anticipated but I believe those are resolved now and e-mail notifications should be functional again.
  6. We know what caused the issue now and have resolved it. Long story short, it all came down to sending limits and we've overcome those limits now.
  7. Yup. They are only needed do the install of the OS and drivers.
  8. Can you please post your system diagnostics? Login to the webGui and go to the Tools > Diagnostics page and click the Download button. Just saw you already did this. I don't see anything standing out in your logs either. What is your network setup? Are you clients on the same subnet as your server? What kind of switch/router are you using?
  9. I'll look into it, but don't get your hopes up too much ;-). I don't see any option for that yet, but I'll keep looking. That is definitely an admin function that somehow got applied to mods as well. Please don't touch ;-)
  10. From a Windows PC, open a command prompt and type the following: net use * /delete See if after running that command if the client can be connected to the server. I'm not sure what the equivalent of that command would be for Linux guests off the top of my head, but please try that from a Windows client first.
  11. Nothing in your logs stands out. Can you access the webGui for the server in a browser (http://hostname or http://ipaddress)? I don't believe anyone else has reported this issue either. So are you stating that on 6.1.9, everything works, then if you upgrade the server to any newer version (6.2.x or 6.3.x), SMB access stops working, and if you drop back down to 6.1.9 everything comes back again?
  12. Our forum software is IPS (Invision Power Services). If you can find a plugin or other enhancement to fulfill your needs, send me a link to it and we'll consider it. The truth is that you're probably being greedy ;-).
  13. Have you tried browsing by IP? If IP works but hostname does not for accessing shares, let us know.
  14. Hey everyone! I thought it'd be prudent to create a thread with all the tips and tricks to using the new forum software as we discover them. Some users have already pointed out some fairly useful ones and I thought we'd start aggregating those in a common thread here. If you find any good tips or tricks, post them here and I'll incorporate them into the OP. Thanks! Highlight to Quote If you highlight a section of text in a post by clicking and dragging with your mouse, then afterward you will see a "Quote this" hovering above the selected text. Clicking that will automatically quote the text selected into a reply post, even citing the author of the highlighted text correctly. Highlight Thread to Preview OP and Last Post When browsing any particular forum, if you put your mouse over the topic subject, a preview window will pop up allowing you to see both the original post as well as the last post in the thread. Click and hold topic name to rename a topic Mess up with the name for you topic before you submitted it? Not only can you fix this in the "Edit Post" screen, but you can even fix it when just browsing the forum itself. If you click and hold on a topic name (that you created), you can rename the topic right from there! Found a trick? REPLY HERE! If you find any more tricks you think are worth sharing, reply to this post with what you found and I'll update the OP to include the trick!
  15. Yes, this is a known issue. We had hoped it would be fixed in 6.3.0 as we updated all the noVNC components to latest rev but we're still seeing the performance degradation. It's not to the point of completely unusable for basic administration, but if you're trying to use it like a virtual desktop, then a local VNC client would be best.
  16. I know. This is the one thing I'm not a fan of with IPS. I would prefer a "code view" that lets you see everything in fixed width font with tags, but that isn't an option. BB codes do work, but for whatever reason, they don't seem to allow for tables in IPS. I'm going to inquire further...
  17. You need to install the graphics driver for the display adapter. Open device manager, look for the display adapter (should say Microsoft Basic Display Adapter). Right click it and select update driver. Point it to the qxl folder on your Virtio ISO disk and let 'er rip! Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  18. Actually you can. We got a special build of Plex from the Plex guys and in Docker form. They tested it against a preview build of 6.3 a little while ago and it worked great using an Intel IGD device.
  19. I just enabled some control options around forum signatures. The fact of the matter is that we do need to be somewhat strict on this to prevent users from creating signatures that are too large to display. As such, the following policy has been put in place for forum signatures: Users are allowed to have up to 1 image in their forum signature. The max size allowed for this image is 475 x 100 px. Signatures are allowed to go up to 5 lines of text, no more. These policies apply to all users in the forum except for Administrators and Moderators (for the time being). Thanks!
  20. I notice this as well. The same applies to editor toolbar when creating posts. The smaller the window / display, the less controls you will see in the editor.
  21. Why not just boot into GUI boot mode on your console monitor so you can use the webGui through the included Firefox browser? You can enable this by moving the "menu default" item in your syslinux config to live under the GUI mode option.
  22. Ok, so you want to install virtualbox inside a VM running on unRAID, correct? If so, you need to enable nested virtualization. See this post for details.
  23. Legacy GPUs are less likely to work for GPU pass through. We don't have the GPUs you've used to test with ourselves, but it wouldn't shock me if they didn't work.
