1. for me it is installed with the Settings under Settings and the Control under Tools. If you have something different maybe you have not got the latest version of the plugin. Well, that is indeed the case for the Dynamix File Integrity plugin, but that's a different thread I have the latest versions of both the Preclear Disks plugin (2016.03.22) and the Preclear Disks Beta plugin (2016.03.24a) but neither is "split" as you suggest.
2. I was wondering why the plugin installs on the Settings page of the GUI. Wouldn't Tools be a more appropriate home for it?
3. Fantastic! Thank you very much indeed.
4. I have a feature request for the Dynamix System Statistics plugin. On the System Stats page, Processor (CPU Load) graph, could a third trace be added to show the nice value, in addition to the system and user values, as it is in the htop command, please?
5. Good suggestion. I have made a new version 2016.03.21 available, which allows for disabling of notifications about the export status when no export file exists for the corresponding disk. That's brilliant. Thank you! I like the blue crosses - a good choice because they are not as scary as red ones.
6. Checksums are always automatically generated and placed in the extended attributes and verified when protection and verification are enabled on the settings page. The status of the exported files is now only monitored. I have found these two different modes quite confusing until very recently. I'm actually only interested in the checksums that are stored in the extended attributes and verified on a regular basis. I have no need for the export function so is it possible to disable alerts associated with it? If I delete the exported checksum files, perhaps?
7. gfjardim ... was that reply for me? If so i do not understand what you are trying to tell me. I do not have a preclear disk beta tab within settings. FYI i downloaded the 'amended' version by 'search'ing for 'preclear' on the CA apps tab. It downloaded the new version (dated today) and the install script confirmed this but the plugin it installed still shows old timestamps and version number against it and hasn't got 'beta' anywhere to be seen. You know much better than me how these things work. I'm just happy to confirm that it does!! Seeing a reply to a deleted post was initially confusing but now I'm curious as to how the beta Pre-clear plugin is incompatible with the Unassigned Devices plugin, since this is the first time I've seen an incompatibility mentioned and because I have both installed.
8. Yes, I suspect they are left-overs since before exclusions were possible. I found a neat little command for deleting them all from each of my shares. Don't worry, OS X will re-create them soon enough and they will then be properly excluded! Many thanks. find /mnt/user/L_Public -name .DS_Store -exec rm '{}' \; find /mnt/user/L_Private -name .DS_Store -exec rm '{}' \;
9. Can you show the output of: # ps -ef | grep inotify root 23783 1 0 16:49 ? 00:00:00 inotifywait -mrqe close_write --exclude ^/mnt/disk[0-9]+/(.*\.Recycle\.Bin/|.*\.tmp$) --format %w%f /mnt/disk1 /mnt/disk10 /mnt/disk2 /mnt/disk3 /mnt/disk4 /mnt/disk5 /mnt/disk6 /mnt/disk7 /mnt/disk8 /mnt/disk9 Here you go: root@Lapulapu:~# ps -ef | grep inotify root 13646 1 0 16:03 ? 00:00:00 inotifywait -mrqe close_write --exclude ^/mnt/disk[0-9]+/(.*\.icns$|.*\.AppleDB/|.*\.DS_Store$) --format %w%f /mnt/disk1 /mnt/disk2 /mnt/disk7 root 28563 24193 0 18:38 pts/0 00:00:00 grep inotify root@Lapulapu:~# I'm excluding *.icns and Apple metadata. And I'm only including three disks at the moment.
10. I'm still getting error messages (highlighted in red) in my syslog like this Mar 19 16:05:06 Lapulapu bunker: error: no export of file: /mnt/disk1/L_Public/Shared Music/.DS_Store despite (or, possibly because of) having Apple metadata excluded in File Integrity settings.
11. Thanks all, that was quick! I believe it should if you have "Save new hashing results to flash" enabled. I don't.
12. I updated to the 2016.03.17 version yesterday and received this alert today. "Disk s"?
13. Not every disk gets added, only those you change any of the configuration options, like Auto Mount/Share/Script. Ah, right. Thanks. I think some of the default actions have changed - I remember toggling off Automout in the past (which would have added the disk to the list). Now Automount is off by default so I don't need to change that setting (which is why disks are no longer being added). I'll have a play with it.
14. It just gets better I have a question about the Historical Devices section, though. It seems that as new devices are seen by UD and then removed they are added to this list, up to a maximum of eight. You can toggle the Automount feature in case they should be connected again in the future and you can remove them from the list. But it seems that once eight have been seen no more are added to the list. I've been pre-clearing disks for use in another server so they are very unlikely to be seen again by this server. Once the list reached eight and didn't grow any further I started removing entries. It now stands at four but new disks aren't being added to it. Is that how it's supposed to work?
15. Can you re-apply the settings under Settings -> SMB -> Workgroup Settings and make Monitor local master election is enabled on all of your servers. I disabled Monitor local master election and clicked Apply, then re-enabled it and clicked Apply and the result is the same. First I see "Please wait, obtaining" for a second then each server displays its own name and each has the icon. If I turn off Enable local master the result is the same, the name and the icon. If I turn off Monitor local master election the name remains the local host name but the icon is not displayed. Before the Dynamix update it worked as expected: one server only displayed the icon and it's name was displayed by all servers. Reboots all round fixed it, but re-installs and re-applying settings didn't.

17. The OP didn't mention a Windows box. He asked how to mount an NTFS formatted USB drive. I suggested the UD plugin, not Squid. To my mind the question had no relevance to unRAID otherwise.
18. Install the Unassigned Devices plugin. https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=45807.0
19. None at all or just reporting that no bytes trimmed? Showed in Plugins as installed, but missing from Scheduler (no tab) and no mention of Trim operations in log. There were log entries saying it was being installed on boot but something was amiss. Same here. Installed on boot but no trim entries in syslog and no tab in Scheduler. Last reboot was following the 6.1.9 update. Edit: Uninstall and re-install of the plugin fixed this issue but not the master browser issue.
20. Since the update to unRAID 6.1.9 and the separate Dynamix update (2016.03.05) all my servers think they are the local master browser and they are all displaying the Yoda head icon.

OK. Thanks, Capt.

This works nicely, thank you. But is there an easy way to make it permanent so that it survives a reboot?
23. Swapfiles aren't supported on btrfs format disks. Look back a couple of pages in this thread.
24. That's because the forum is down. Thanks. It's up again now and there is a new key, which is valid until the end of March 2016.
25. The key referred to at the bottom of the OP has expired and the URL gives a 500 error. Is there a new one, please?
