  1. My HBA had failed and none of the drives connected to the HBA were showing up on unraid. I ordered a new HBA and replaced the one on my server. All the drives now showed up but the parity drive shows up as disabled, the server was off while I got my HBA replaced so it has been over 60 days since the last parity check if that matters. I tried swapping the cables around, tried connecting it to a SATA port on the motherboard but it still showed up as disabled. Then I did an Extended SMART Test on the Parity Drive and everything seemed to go well. I've had 1 reported incorrect sector on my drive for a long time now, other than that I don't see anything wrong with the drive. Can I still use the drive, I've attached the SMART Test results and the diagnostics. tower-smart-20220501-2248.zip tower-diagnostics-20220501-1414.zip
  2. My LSI 9207-8i card died. I want to know if the LSI 9210-8i is a suitable replacement for the LSI 9207-8i. Does it have any known issues with unraid?
  3. I do not have another PC to to plug it into. Can you tell me where in the diagnostics.zip the LSI is mentioned? Do you think LSI SAS 9210-8i is a good replacement for the card?
  4. I tried reseating the card and tried different PCIe slots as well but no luck. Where in the diagnostics does it indicate that the LSI HBA is detected?
  5. All the drives connected to this HBA stopped showing up on unraid. When I connected these drives to the SATA ports on the motherboard they showed up. Can you confirm the HBA is not working, I will attach the diagnostics. LSI Logic SAS 9207-8i is the HBA in question tower-diagnostics-20220411-1803.ziptower-diagnostics-20220411-1803.ziptower-diagnostics-20220411-1803.zip tower-diagnostics-20220411-1803.zip
  6. Currently I have unraid running on an Intel System with with multiple Windows VMs (without GPU passthrough) running at the same time. I want to build a new machine, if I switch to AMD Ryzen (3900X) on the next build will I be able to do the same thing. I know that Ryzen doesn't come with an iGPU so will this be an issue.
  7. There are lots of entries like these in my syslog. How do I resolve this. 8. I think excluding the USB Drive from Dynamix Cache Directory fixed it.
  9. I hope LimeTech doesn't dismiss the needs of people who need GPU drivers because of a few naysayers who dismiss the needs of others.
  10. This is not true, proper driver support would mean that the GPU will be able to enter low power mode even when not assigned to a VM.
  11. I had another issue that might be related to this
  12. Unraid 6.8.2 I was only able to turn it off after I pulled out a USB Hard Drive. This issue might be related to another issue I'm having with USB drives mounted with unassigned devices. I have attached the diagnostics tower-diagnostics-20200128-2021.zip
  13. I think this was only a partial fix. I'm still getting High iowait and slow transfer speeds[I'm getting faster speeds than before that is between 2 and 35 MegaBytes per second once it has slowed down earlier I was seeing speeds in the KiloBytes per second or even Bytes per second after it slows down and iowait is staying below 50% earlier I've seen it go to upto 65%]. I'm not getting hit with high iowait before transfers but after a couple minutes after I start a transfer the issue returns. lsof isn't showing other unrelated files being accessed though iotop I get this when I try that
  14. Dynamic Cache Dirs I had a issue were mounting an external USB Hard Drive via unassigned devices lead to High iowait and extremely low file transfer speeds. I was eventually able to figure with the help of robobub it was Dynamic Cache Dirs that was causing the issue. Dynamic Cache Dirs scanning the External USB Drive was what lead to high iowait. I was able to resolve the issue by excluding the external drive from Cache Dirs. But it would be really nice if you could add an option to exclude all drive mounted via Unassigned devices automatically.
  15. Here is what I got. I have also attached new diagnostics. Your help is much apricated. Thank You. tower-diagnostics-20200128-1103.zip
  16. Any clues on what I should do? Edit: lsof shows unrelated files being accessed. The file that is being copied is in the Yellow Box, All the files in the Red Box are untreated to the Copy
  17. Thank you. Changing the I/O Scheduler and queue size unfortunately did not make a difference. update: iowait went down to 0, but I don't know why. Will Investigate further. update 2:It went up again
  18. And also iowait becomes large ~20% even before I start a transfer(just after I mount the drive). Will your fix still work? Thank you.
  19. I'm copying data from the array to the USB drive not the other way round. I'm not writing anything to the array.
  20. [Unraid 6.8.2] When I mount an External USB HardDrive via unassigned Devices it creates large IOwait Before Mounting After Mounting I'm mounting this drive to transfer some data from the unraid array to the External Drive using binhex-Krusader. These screenshots are from before I've started any transfers. Once I start a transfer it will copy at a good speed for a while Then IOwait will go up and the transfer speed will crash Even after I pause the Copy the IOwait times don't go down When I dismount the Drive the IOWait goes down to Zero The backlog and drive utilization shoots up immediately when I remount the drive I have attached the diagnostics Edit : iotop while drive mounted and with NO file Transfer(Not copying files with Krusader) Edit 2: lsof shows unrelated files being accessed. The file that is being copied is in the Yellow Box, All the files in the Red Box are untreated to the Copy Edit 3: This is when no transfer is taking place. These random files are being accessed from my mounted external USB Hard Drive. Edit 4: It was dynamic cache dirs scanning the drive that was the problem. Thank you robobub [https://forums.unraid.net/profile/100006-robobub/] for figuring it out. I excluded the External Drive from the Cache Dirs and the problem is now resolved. Edit 5: I think this was only a partial fix. 21. Just one thing, this is going to be hard, if I can only say one thing it would be the ability to add any hard drive whenever I want more storage. Feature request for 2020; Nvidia Driver support on unraid.
  22. Other than laggy mouse cursor movement on binhex-krusader everything else seems to work just fine.
