  1. I think it's worth mentioning annecdotal, but credible, reports that once you get above 10TB, they have been known to contact you to require you reduce your backup size. Also, noting their speed limits, you may find that you practically never get a complete initial backup. Despite the increased cost, you may want to consider using Backblaze B2. If you can reduce your 80TB backup, I recommend you do. For example, if that's literally everything you have, perhaps backup only irreplacable data such as photos and documents.

    Help: Mail backup

Given Google are getting stricter on their storage, I could also do with a way to backup emails. I've bodged together Thunderbird + AutoarchiveReloaded plugin but it doesn't seem graceful on massive inboxes.
  3. Just curious, when you said that, did you mean a PCI native NIC+USB Controller (on one card, similar to this but PCI not PCIe)?
  4. I've set this up and I like it! Appreciate the effort. One question though, what recovery options are there should I loose access to all my devices (unlikely thanks to Authy)? Typically services offer backup codes or recovery codes or similar. I keep those offline and secure, but available just in case the extraordinary happens.
  5. I'm in the same boat, testing with Mint and a 1650
  6. This link was in the same email, with practical details.
  7. Just curious, which features specifically would you miss? I ask this because I'm experimenting with Mint in VMs on an Unraid host (both Cinnamon and Xfce) with a view to changing over my day-to-day sofa warrior laptop
  8. Hey everyone, really just a simple question that I have googled. In 2021, what Unraid relevant/useful uses can you think of for a PCI slot. This should not be confused with a PCIe slot. My Lenovo TS430 has one just sitting there, lonely and empty.
  9. This is just a tip because I spent so blinking long figuring this out. Traefik v1 Users (and indeed all Traefik/Reverse Proxy users) - an additional label is required. Source article which helped me figure it out. The important label you must add, which you would not usually add, is: "traefik.protocol=https" Unraid style screenshot attached.
  10. Just thought I'd let you know that this post and those instructions saved me from loosing my VMs (which were not backed up) and the most recent copy of other data (which was backed up but getting this was easier). I'm currently copying it into a pool directory then will make a fresh BTRFS or XFS cache drive.
  11. Seagate Expansion 10TB Desktop External Hard Drive (STEB10000400) at BestBuy.ca Price as of 19 November 2020: CAD$199 Shucking video. I've ordered one, preclearing now still in it's enclosure, and Unraid identifies it as: Device model: ST10000NM001G-2MW103 Which googling indidcates is a Seagate Exos X16 10TB 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 3.5-Inch Enterprise Hard Drive (ST10000NM001G)
  12. 6.8.1 to 6.8.2 went just fine for me. All previous versions since 6.7 have also been fine (and I've only said 6.7 because that's the first version number I can remember after buying a licence, likely some of the later 6.6 ones were also used). Point is I've never had an issue.
  13. A few days in: No issues with upgrade or in the days since. I had no issues with 6.8.0 either.
  14. Sort of adjacent question: What scanners are people using with Paperless and, importantly, which are the least nonsense to use day to day. I'd like something that I can carelessly throw paper into and press one button to scan and upload if I can. Home budget. I do see the recomendations in the Paperless docs and in the OP, but there is a slight dating issue now. That said, if those are still the reliable working options, I'd happily consider it.
  15. I'd have said scanbot until they went either pay per month or absurdly expensive. Tiny Scanner is popular but not used it.

  17. By any chance is your CP doing deep maintainance (that can take days)? Log in to the UI to check. Mine unexpectedly started doing it recently.
  18. But according to the contest rules in the first post, the creation of those accounts takes the forums closer to 100,000 members, at which point the contest closes? (to be clear, I haven't created any accounts, this contest is just for fun and I've entered once above)
  19. Like: the low writes to the usb boot drive and the stability Would like: user's other than root to be the admin (similar to Ubuntu)
  20. You can set isolation in Settings > CPU Pinning at any time. Isolation can only happen at VM boot time I admit, but appears to otherwise be available at any time at the host (i.e. UnRAID) level.
  21. Downloaded & installed last night (when my kid woke us up for a feed) and hit restart this morning. Upgrade from 6.7.2 went flawlessly and without issue. Using a Lenovo TS430 with the included lsi 9240-8i, mixture of WD, Seagate and HGST drives and a GTX 1650... and an ADATA full size usb flash drive but I've forgotten the model.
  22. Searched and Googled this but have been reliably told this isn't currently available. Description Allow resources (VMs or Dockers) to isolate CPUs to themselves only when they are running: If the resource is running: Only it can use it's designated cores If the resource is not running: Anything can use them Use Cases/Scenarios You have a VM that is is only used when a user is present, especially interactive VMs (desktops and gaming) which you only use when you are awake. When it's not in use, it may as well be shut down and the resources released, for example, overnight. You have a Docker that can be resource hungry, but isn't interactive and could be run during scheduled times. Backups or F@H would be a good example if you only back up nightly. You're out, and neither of the above two scenarios are occuring and you're out of the house watching Plex remotely. It might as well have all the server resources avaialble in case you have more streams than normal.
  23. Appreciate the straight answer I'll go and search the feature requests forum now and write it up if I don't find it. EDIT: Done the feature request.
