  1. I think that I must have confused myself - I've just checked the iStarUSA web site, and the trayless 5in3 is still exactly the same design as mine. Peter, maybe this is the unit you were thinking of? The new iStar 5-in-3 (BPN-DE350SS) should be available mid-july http://istarusa.com/drivecages/bpndespec.php
  2. This is the way I understand it with TV as the share. Refer to http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Un-Official_UnRAID_Manual#Split_level TV -series folder --season folder ---season files A split level of 1 will keep each TV series on a single disk and split level of 2 will keep each season on a single disk. The split level of 2 means that the complete TV series can be stored on multiple disks, however each individual season of that TV series will be on a single disk.
  3. I have read that drive letter designations will change and not to worry about it. Check this thread http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=14518.msg137047#msg137047
  4. Thank you ! Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  5. I have 3 of these drives (1 parity, 2 data). Did not know about a firmware update. Should I bother or not? How high is the risk of losing data during the firmware update?
  6. Vexhold, thanks for the follow up.
  7. I am hoping for the same. I havn't posted in this thread because my conversations/transactions with him were by PM.
  8. Jeff, are all your disks the same size? Read this description of high-water allocation as pointed out to me in another thread by dgasck http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=20171.msg179914#msg179914 http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Un-Official_UnRAID_Manual#Allocation_method "The high water allocation method attempts to step fill each disk so at the end of each step there is an equal free space left on each disk." So i understand, it will not progressively fill each disk half way unless they are all the same size
  9. Hello, First of all, I want to thank everyone who posted guides for ESXi. With your help, I was able to get ESXi installed with unRAID running in ESXi. I would like to know how most of you are managing ESXi. Are you using Windows 7? My main desktop is Ubuntu 10.04 x64 and I have been running Windows 7 x64 in a vmware workstation player on the Ubuntu box to manage ESXi. I found a vmware view client for linux, but it will not install on Ubuntu 10.04 x64. I am wondering if any of you have a Linux client running? Thanks again for all the help. Mark
  10. On version 5, you can view share size from the web GUI Go to the shares tab and click on compute...
  11. OK, Thanks for the link. I won't worry about where the files are placed.
  12. Hi I am currently using UNraid 5.0-rc2. (server built with 5b14, upgraded to rc2). This issue began before rc2, I just recently discovered it. I have 3 disks in the array: 3TB parity, 3TB, 2TB, and an 80GB SSD mounted via plugin for SAB/SB/CP/PMS data dir. Not using a cache disk. 2 user shares: Movies (split level 1, High water allocation, min free space 0, include/exclude disks blank) TV (split level 2, High water allocation, min free space 0, include/exclude disks blank) Using SAB/SB/CP/PMS/Drive Mount plugins and every thing was working great, when disk 1 got to 50% free space then the movies and tv (new seasons) began writing to disk 2. I have lots of files on disk 2 that were created from early Mar to mid-April, but for some reason any Movies and new TV shows since mid-april are now being writtten to disk 1 again and nothing has gone to disk 2 except for a TV show that already has it's current season on disk 2. I have rebooted numerous times, and don't have any syslogs from the past. I have searched the forums and cannot figure out why my split level settings have stopped working, or what I should do next to get them working again.
  13. Maybe this will help. I have a working setup on unRAID 5b14 using the sab/sb/cp/plex/drive mount plugins. After you copied your settings from QNAP, did you check the owner of sabnzbd folder? You may need to: chown -R nobody:users /path to your folder/apps/sabnzbd/ Also check the user rights (the .py files should have read and execution rights for at least user and group): ls -la /path to your folder/apps/sickbeard/autoProcessTV You may want to re-read the entire sab plugin thread again to see if you missed anything else. This is the thread I am referring to: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=14760.0
  14. Found it for you http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=17804.msg160232#msg160232
  15. If you can put it back in the case with no signs of removal, you might get lucky http://support.wdc.com/warranty/rmapacking.asp "External Western Digital Enclosures: Do not remove the drive from the external enclosure. Return the drive in its original enclosure/plastic housing (without having been opened or dismantled, along with the power adapter). Please keep all software, manuals and interface cables. WARNING: Removing the hard drive from, a Western Digital single unit external enclosure, will void the warranty."
  16. The online warranty checker doesn't know it was removed from the case. It will identify it as an external drive and I am pretty sure they won't cover the warranty if you sent it in. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  17. I think the warranty would be void if you removed it from the case Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  18. Woodland hills has only one and it is being returned to the vendor because it doesnt work. They wouldn't sell it to me. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  19. If you are using v5b11 or higher, you can use Benni-chan's drive mount plugin. I am using it on my server and it works great. Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk
  20. Hi, I need some advice on how to proceed. My server is still fairly new (v5b14 unlicensed). I ran a parity check last night and am seeing many errors in the syslog. Attached is a portion of the syslog and a smart report for the drive. A little history, I forgot to preclear this drive before I added it, so I just left it as is. There is no data on this drive yet. My question is, should I remove the drive from the array and preclear it now? Or should I do something different? smart.txt.zip syslog.txt.zip
  21. Main tab>click on "flash">under flash settings you should find GUID Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk
  22. I let cp do the renaming also, boxee sometimes displays the wrong thumbnail and/or can't identify the movie. I am on the boxee forums, will check out ember. Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk
  23. I will look into Ember. Is this on unraid? I am also using Boxee Box. Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk
