samtrois
I recently upgraded to v3 (automatically?) and decided to try to add some movies via "collection", I chose something I didn't have or really care about, "Star Wars Lego Collection" After adding, it seems like Radarr thought that was ALL I wanted in my collection and proceeded to delete thousands of movies from its database, and removed 9+TB of files across 2x6tb drives. I have attached a few most recent logs (i hope there is nothing incriminating), but this excerpt seems to be where I added the list, and Radarr starts deleting my files. 2020-12-29 07:27:01.4|Info|FetchAndParseImportListService|Syncing Movies for List: TMDb Collection 2020-12-29 07:27:01.4|Info|TMDbCollectionImport|Importing TMDb movies from collection: 302331 2020-12-29 07:27:05.7|Info|ImportListSyncService|[Life on the Line (2015)][tt3727202, 398289] was in your library, but not found in your lists --> Removing from library and deleting files 2020-12-29 07:27:05.8|Info|MovieService|Deleted movie [Life on the Line (2015)][tt3727202, 398289] 2020-12-29 07:27:05.8|Info|ImportListSyncService|[American Casino (2009)][tt1396209, 57904] was in your library, but not found in your lists --> Removing from library and deleting files 2020-12-29 07:27:06.0|Info|MovieService|Deleted movie [American Casino (2009)][tt1396209, 57904] I have pulled the drives and tried to view/recover on my windows machine to no avail. I am now loading an appdata backup and hoping my database can be recovered, and ill just slog through re-downloading everything. radarr.0.txt radarr.1.txt radarr.2.txt 1 Quote Link to comment
samtrois
I have restored my database now, and I guess I have found the setting that was the issue. Like I said, i didn't add a list from this screen. and have never used lists before, so I didnt change it to remove and delete files. This cant be the default setting right? Quote Link to comment
ChatNoir
You should ask that question in the topic specific to Radarr. You can easily find it from the Docker tab with the support link. Quote Link to comment
samtrois
You're probably right. But to counter, It could be considered a bit more general Radarr issue, than specific to my chosen repo Quote Link to comment

It does not round like an Unraid specific issue. Quote Link to comment
samtrois
I guess so, I couldn't find anything for Radarr, so thought this was a good place to post. Ive 'solved' my issue. Please remove if you need to Quote Link to comment

Akendi
I know this is an old thread but wanted to say that after recently adding a Radarr docker to UnRaid almost my entire media library plus other files were wiped out and required a restore from backups. Thanks to everyone for keeping this thread around because I was under the assumption that finger trouble and midnight commander were to blame ... until it happened a second time the next day. Searching led me here because of the title. Didn't even know, at this point, that Radarr could be a culprit. Thanks for the pointer to Radarr. Will investigate and take my discussion to a Radarr forum if appropriate. Quote Link to comment
tjb_altf4
FYI there is a recycle bin option (not configured by default) for Sonarr/Radarr/Lidarr, which adds a little bit of safety to the media itself. Edited September 30, 2022 by tjb_altf4 Quote Link to comment
Akendi
Yes, thanks. Turned on the recycle bin option for those apps. Also see a CA utility that claims to do the same system wide. Quote Link to comment

BRiT
Everyone should be using "chattr +i" to protect the files that are not expected to be updated or written to. Quote Link to comment
