jangjong
I am guessing we need a new VMWare tools since we have the 5.0 stable, right? Quote Link to comment
Dephcon
I think the RC16c tools work just fine since it's the same kernel. Quote Link to comment

Zeron
Now.. do we need a new vmware tool for esxi 5.5? You shouldn't, but I haven't upgraded to 5.5 yet. Maybe this weekend... Quote Link to comment
Dephcon
Still works in 5.5 Quote Link to comment
spylex
But i guess a v5.0 final + confirmed ESXi v5.5 support would be nice Quote Link to comment
jangjong
The installed version of open-vm-tools was built for kernel: 3.9.6p but version: 3.9.11p is running.... guess we need a new one now for 5.0.1 Quote Link to comment

pcbroch
Has anyone tried this with Unraid 5.0.3 and ESXi 5.5? Quote Link to comment
BetaQuasi
The version for 5.0.1 works fine with 5.0.3 and ESXi 5.5, I'm using it. The kernel hasn't changed between those versions, so as a general rule, Zeron's plugin should continue to work. Quote Link to comment
pcbroch
Thanks, installed it without problems on ESXi 5.5 and Unraid 5.0.3! Quote Link to comment
backey
vmxnet3 is enabled however very slow copy speed from Physical to VM. I see those auto-negotiation all set to "No". if I run: ethtool eth0 here is some questions: 1. Is there a way to temporarily switch from vmxnet3 back to e1000 just for testing? 2. I see the speed is at 10000Mb, can it limit to 1000Mb? 3. Can the auto negotiation set to "Yes"? my speed inside the ESXi is excellent, VM to VM copy around 120MB /sec. However, Physical to VM only 15MB /sec. my router is a Gigabit router. What am I did wrong? Quote Link to comment

Yes - remove the ethernet device from your VM configuration and add a new e1000 one. 2. I see the speed is at 10000Mb, can it limit to 1000Mb? No. 3. Can the auto negotiation set to "Yes"? No. my speed inside the ESXi is excellent, VM to VM copy around 120MB /sec. However, Physical to VM only 15MB /sec. my router is a Gigabit router. What am I did wrong? I do not provide the VMXNET3 driver, it's included in the unRaid kenel. You will probably get better support in a VMware forum as there is likely nothing unRaid specific at play here.
