Can you post a screenshot from the error message, that would be very helpful.

@JorgeB is anything known to not work registering Trail currently?

This usually means that flash drive was used with a trial before, or it's registered under a different email, use a different flash drive or contact support.

with new usb stick has work that directly thank you sir @JorgeB

I hope LXC is also working, from what I know sometimes the cracked versions mess with libc and who knows what else they have included and LXC doesn't like that.

Do I also have to add the entry unraidcgroup2 in syslinux.conf in my version 7.0.1? It would be best to add it in the description so that people do it the same way. There are many who do not follow the instructions correctly.

I would include it if still necessary (first page from this thread, right at the top) :

I'm sorry, I worded it wrong. I just wanted to say that you have to include it in version 7.0.1, so that means yes.

now is that works well wen i restart the lxc or reboot server thx @ich777

I don't have any issue or anything, just wanted to drop by and give a heart felt thanks! This is EXACTLY the kind of thing that keeps me using unraid over rolling my own server setup. The community here over the years has just NOT STOPPED surprising me in what they keep putting out there. This is perfect for a few of my personal use cases and I am having a blast fiddling around with a shiny new thing.

No, you don‘t have to add cgroupv2 since it‘s on by default.

I have had LXC working for awhile and when I went to add a new one, I noticed it was uninstalled completely.  Reinstalled it and now its saying sh: line 1: lxc-create: command not found

Not quite sure what happened.

Please reboot your server and see if it‘s working afterwards.

Same results

That's odd, you are missing the entire LXC base package, try to go to Settings -> LXC -> Update -> click Check.

I'm actually not sure if that will fix your issue but I hope so, otherwise you can just do a reinstall from the whole plugin (if you set the paths to exactly the same it should work as before).

Found new LXC version 6.0.4

Please wait, downloading and installing new version!

Sorry but troubleshooting is really hard with that little information. :D

However, it tries to download one of these two releases depending on your installation: https://github.com/ich777/unraid-lxc-plugin/releases/tag/6.0.4

But I assume you don't have enough GitHub API calls left or your firewall is blocking the GitHub API entirely and that's why you see that error but I really can't tell what's causing this on your system.

The download that you just did is not correct since you downloaded the web page and not the actual package, please note that downloading and cloning is not an API call.

I just tried it on a test server where LXC was never installed and it works just fine:
grafik.thumb.png.e8eb4f7c17eeb0b7d11a099987fe59b6.png

If you are using Unraid 6.12+ then please download LXC this package (about 9.2MB) :

https://github.com/ich777/unraid-lxc-plugin/releases/download/6.0.4/LXC-6.0.4-2.txz

and make sure the folder structure from /boot/config/plugins/lxc looks like that:

grafik.png.a4af10b8d6e6f6347025a1b6903f8520.png

and reboot afterwards, this should get you going, however I really can't tell why it's not working OOB, if you have Unifi gear on your network make sure to check your IDS and IPS rules since they are at times to strict.

Are you also sure that you USB flash device is in good condition and have enough free space on it?

  • 1 month later...

Hi,

thanks @ich777 for creating this plugin. I started to use this week and I'm impressed.
But I do have one question: I always connect to the terminal via the built in function and not via SSH, but I never need to enter the root password, even it's set. Is this standard or not?

Thanks and keep on rocking.
