jluerken Posted September 1, 2022 Share Posted September 1, 2022 Hi, ich habe heute den Server runtergefahren über die Oberfläche weil etwas an der Stromversorgung geändert wurde im Haus. Beim Neustarten des Servers kam es zu einer Fehlermeldung: Kernel panic - not syncing VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0) Ich habe daraufhin den USB Stick gesichert und mit dem USB Creator komplett neu eingerichtet. Das Verzeichnis "config" habe ich anschließend wieder rüber kopiert. Die Fehlermeldung bleibt jedoch, egal ob ich normal oder ohne Plugins starte. Kann mir da bitte jemand helfen? jluerken Posted September 5, 2022 Author Share Posted September 5, 2022 Ich konnte das Problem lösen indem ich den USB Stick manuell neu installierte. Die automatische Installation hat nicht funktioniert. Nachdem ich den CONFIG Ordner rüber kopiert habe, ist nun alles wieder wie es sein soll. Leider habe ich es schon öfter gehabt, dass bei einem geregelten Runterfahren des Servers beim nächsten Neustart Probleme mit dem USB Stick auftragen. Natürlich habe ich diesen schon einmal ausgetauscht. Gibt es nicht eine andere Möglichkeit, von einem etwas "verlässlicheren" Medium zu booten? Quote Link to comment

Eine Alternative zum Stick wie z.B. SSD, USB-->M.2 Lösung etc. 2. Der Stick sollte regelmäßig automatisch nach Fehlern untersucht werden, im speziellen beim Runterfahren des Systems Da ist mir echt ein paar Mal schon warm geworden 🙂 Quote Link to comment

Ja, du bist nicht der einzige wo das mal aufschlägt, in der Regel jedoch sind es "abgerauchte" Sticks, bei Dir scheint sich ja etwas zu "zerschießen" ... und das ist nicht normal und hat auch nichts mit dem Medium zu tun, wenn eine SSD zerschossen wird (Dateisystem, Files, ...) wäre hier ja das gleiche Problem vorhanden ... dein Stick an sich scheint ja technisch in Ordnung zu sein wenn ich das richtig lese (nach platt machen und neu ... geht wieder alles) und es ist nicht das "klassische" Stick defekt Problem ... Ich persönlich finde das aktuelle Konzept von Unraid eine absolut geniale Idee. Es wird keine Platte (Spinner oder nicht) blockiert. Der Stick wird beim Booten einmal gelesen und der gelesene Inhalt (Betriebssystem und Konfiguration) ins RAM geladen. Danach läuft alles im RAM - Betriebssystem inklusive. Der Stick wird als /boot eingeklinkt und das wars - danach wird er nicht mehr benötigt. Wenn Du an der Konfiguration des Betriebssystems nichts änderst dann wird der Stick auch nicht beschrieben bis zum Runterfahren. Wenn ein Stick das nicht überlebt, dann gibt es anderweitige Probleme, die aber nix mit dem generellen Konzept zu tun haben. Ich hatte mir mehrere 16 GB USB Sticks zur Reserve bereitgelegt, die hängen seit Jahren ungenutzt an der Seite des Servers. Die letzte Änderung war ein USB 2 Kabel zu kaufen, damit ich die Sticks problemlos an USB 3.x Ports betreiben kann. Das war vor ein paar Jahren ein Problem, soll aber heute behoben sein. Ich lasse es aber so. Hohe Performance ist hier wirklich nicht erforderlich. Ich denke das in Deinem Umfeld/Deiner Konfiguration etwas Deine Boot-Sticks über Gebühr strapaziert. Da würde ich mal ansetzen. Guck Dir doch mal die Gesamtgröße des Sticks sowie die Änderungsdaten auf dem Stick an. Was wird denn da alles geschrieben? Quote Link to comment

Die Sticks sind aber technisch in Ordnung nur gibt es nach dem Runterfahren öfter ein Problem beim Start das ich bisher immer irgendwie lösen konnte. Es wäre halt toll, wenn das System den Boot-Stick beim kontrollierten Runterfahren testen würde und stoppt wenn es da ein Problem gibt. Ist das System nämlich dann einmal unten und der Start macht ein Problem, kommt man so einfach nicht an einige Dinge ran. Wäre ein wöchtenlicher/monatlicher fsck Cron eine Lösung? Ich unterstelle mal, dass Du andere USB Ports, und ein USB 2 Verlängerungskabel, schon ausprobiert hast? Quote Link to comment

Ganz oben, die ersten beiden, sind schon mal Windows Dateien. Die gehören nicht auf den Unraid Boot Stick. Hast Du den Papierkorb in Windows aktiv? 2.) Die FSCK Dateien sind durch die Prüfung des Sticks entstanden. Die kannst Du eh löschen. 3.) Ich persönlich würde testweise mal dieses Unraid MyServers Plugin deinstallieren. Dieses schrieb in der Vergangenheit permanent auf den Stick. Ob das immer noch so ist weiß ich nicht. Ich habe mich davon distanziert. Dann kannst Du auch die ganzen .gitignore Dateien löschen - die gehören zu dem Plugin und dessen Backup des Sticks. Quote Link to comment

This is mostly harmless. Differences: (offset:original/backup) 65:01/00 Not automatically fixing this. Dirty bit is set. Fs was not properly unmounted and some data may be corrupt. Wirklich niemand macht regelmäßig Checks seines USB Sticks und die Fehler die du da hast, hat sonst auch keiner. Wenn du was hochwertiges möchtest, dann kauf dir einen Enterprise USB Stick mit SLC/pSLC Speicher. Preis/Leistung macht nicht wirklich Sinn, aber die gehen ganz sicher nicht kaputt. Falls du AMD nutzt: BIOS aktualisieren und vorzugsweise USB 2.0 Buchsen verwenden. Es gab da schon Bugs mit USB 3.0. Quote Link to comment
