June 21, 201214 yr p1lot, can you post your syslog? itoolio, not sure what that error is about, I double checked after your post and --daemon is indeed still an option.
June 21, 201214 yr OK, so i set the windows view as suggested and there was the .txt extension !!! renamed, placed them in the folder on the flash drive and away it went - thanks for the help getting this far. Will now do more reading about how to set them up - if there is a step through that someone could link that would be great. In simple features i only see sab and couchpotato and not sickbeard - is that right? i get at the end of the sickbeard install file /boot/config/plugins/sickbeard/sickbeard.png: downloading from http://unraid.benjaminwaller.de/sickbeard/sickbeard.png ... http://unraid.benjaminwaller.de/sickbeard/sickbeard.png: 2012-06-21 10:20:09 ERROR 404: Not Found. bad download, deleting The install directory defaulted to "/usr/local/sabnzbd" and i get the warning "Your Data Directory is not persistent and WILL NOT survive a reboot. Please locate Data Directory on disk for persistency" so should i be putting them somewhere else and if so where? I hope this is worth all the effort but thanks again for all the help you have given

I could find out what the prob is more or less by now. When I try to mount the apps-drive via snap after booting the server with ALL plugins enabled, I get "apps" is already mounted, but it is not because sickbeard, couch or sabnzbd creates /mnt/disk/apps in ram because that is what I have configured.
June 21, 201214 yr OK, so with Sickbeard only enabled the server starts fine, but /mnt/disk/apps is still in RAM, Snap doesnt have a chance to mount the external disk before Sickbeards gets installed. Even in that scenario, Snap gets installed way before sickbeard (read the syslog).
June 21, 201214 yr I'm not 100% sure on this, as I don't use snap, but I know snap puts a line in your go file, I believe that line is what snap uses to actually mount the drives. It is installed via installplg, but mounted via go file... I'd have to have a look at the snap.sh to be sure though. If this is the case the plugins are getting installed and started before the go file is executed, causing the issue. Not sure why it would manifest itself only now, but nothing in our plugins have changed recently dealing with how the plugins start Sent from my HTC Vivid
June 21, 201214 yr Well I know I compared them, that is really weird. I will take a look in the snap.sh Thanks for your professional support you should get paid for this. Is there a way for us to donate you a couple of bucks for a beer or test hardware or whatever?
June 21, 201214 yr Did the old plugin from Benni-chan trigger an artificial waiting-time or something like that?
June 21, 201214 yr No, it waited for the disks_mounted event just like we do. These plugins use benni-chans code as a base, and that part hasn't changed at all. I just looked at snap.sh, and it indeed calls to mount the drives in the go file... How many times have you rebooted your setup without this problem? Again, seems odd it would manifest itself now, have you changed anything else with your setup before the reboot? Sent from my HTC Vivid

I do this as a hobby. It's enough to know members appreciate the support enough to offer, Sent from my HTC Vivid
June 21, 201214 yr Update: Seem to be able to do all of the config in sab so that seems fine. Tried to do a reboot and server seemed to hang - do i need to stop these before i do a reboot ? Trying to get in couchpotato and i am getting a user name and password prompt - tried everything and cannot get anything to work, and i do not remember setting one. Removed the couch folder from the flash drive and reinstalled but still no joy. Is there a defualt i am missing. Still no luck with sickbeard, does not seem to be anywhere i can see and def not in settings tab of simple menu where the other 2 are. I have signed up for a block account with blocknews.net and added those details into sab and serve test says connection is fine - but how exactly do you get started with getting the listings and marking stuff you would like to download - is there a guide Feel i am close but still a million miles away, know what i mean .......
June 21, 201214 yr Sorry, also wanted to ask how do i make all of this permenant so i dont have to do the config etc every time i restart, and is the flash the right place for all of these files as i understand using the flash regularly is not good (or maybe its all stored somewhere else .....)
June 21, 201214 yr I recommend a cache drive if you have one. This way the files are not dependant on the array being up and will survive a reboot. Do NOT use flash for the install or data directories, couchpotato and sickbeard create a lot of cache files that will fill/kill the drive prematurely, and sabnzbd downloads a lot of files. There are many tuts on how to use Usenet, google it... I believe sabnzbd has one on their website. Sickbeard you are using an old version, the icon url is broken, which breaks the plugin install. I've messaged tom asking if he'll allow a new attribute for plugins to make some file downloads optional so this doesn't happen. Also, couchpotato does not have a default password, you can look at the settings.conf file located in the couchpotato folder in your plugins directory, it should have that info in it. June 21, 201214 yr OK. I only have the base Unraid on this server so cannot have a cache drive until i get more disks and need to expand some more. I have left everything as default so where is it currently storing everything? can i not make a directory on one of the disks in the array and use that? if so how. Everything at the moment seems to be in /user/local I thought i had the latest version of everything as only downloaded a few days ago, i will download again and see if that works or is there somwhere else i need to get it from - or wait for a fix? Will look in the config file and see what i can find regarding password etc and do some more reading Thanks for all the help as the other poster said you deserve a pint, even if its virtual !!

So should I get rid of the entry in the go-file?

On the plugins settings page you can change it, you have to disable the plugin, change the directory, and enable the plugin, click done. /usr/local is located in ram, which isn't recommended for sabnzbd at all because if you download a file, it will be stored in ram before going to disk when complete, which would most likely fill up your ram and lock your server up. You can make a share on your array but I cannot guarantee this will work 100% on reboot, there seems to be a problem with the disks_mounted event where the event is fired before the the disks are actually mounted, causing the system to get stuck in a "starting..." loop. This is something I'm currently looking into fixing, just taking some time as I have to do it when no one is using the server(I don't have a test server, only my production server so I have to time these things around the family watching content!) Getting the plug-in from my sig is the most up to date place to get it, I just double checked and the fix is indeed in place, probably during all the juggling of plug-ins trying to find one that works they got mixed up, it should be sickbeard_mod.plg that you are looking for. P1lot, you can't remove the entry in the go-file as then your apps disk would never mount. A crappy work-around is to disable the plug-ins before you reboot and manually enable them when everything comes up, I'm trying to think of a more elegant way to fix this.
June 21, 201214 yr Can i just copy everything from user/local to a folder on a disk or is it best to reinstall with that new folder set up on the disk? maybe i should just buy another licence as probably going to need it at some point soon anyway and it will make both servers the same .... So how do i tell the plg's to install to a cache drive so that hey survive reboots and do not use ram or flash for anything? maybe best if i start again with a cache drive as downloded sickbeard again from your link (getting quicker at doing that !!) did a reintall and still no icon and same failure message at end of install As for couch, checked the config file and all that is there is: [growl] port = [core] data_dir = /usr/local/couchpotato_v2 port = 8082 But i am still being asked for a password when i try to log in. So how do i delete everything and then how do i set up everything again on the cache drive (which will be a 250gig HDD for now - guess for quiet and power this needs to be a SSD at some point .....)
June 21, 201214 yr It would be best to reinstall with the new folder set up, what you do is go to the settings page, change the data directory to what you want it to be, and enable the plug-in, it will create the folder for you. The reason it would be best to do it that way is since you left everything default, the install and data directory are in the same folder, so they are mixed together and would be harder to extract just the folders you need(I consider it best to have the install directory in ram as that way every reboot you will get the latest version of the apps) Attach the sickbeard plugin again, not sure why its still pointing at the old URL. Also, not sure at all about couchpotato, I have never been asked for a password... whats your sab & sickbeard ports set as?
June 21, 201214 yr OK, going to blow everything away, get a licence for the version i have on my other server and start again with the small 250gig hdd as a cache drive and redo everything based on what i have learnt so far - with a LOT of help ! Ports are 8081 for sab and 8082 for couch Attache again is the sickbeard plg - i have added the .txt back in - might as well use it now i found it !! the error at the end of the install is in a previouse post. Lets see if i can sort it tonight otherwise i will try tomorrow, will let you know how it goes sickbeard_mod.plg.txt

I had a similar idea yesterday, but couldn't find a way to do that. What I find funny is that it worked fine with Benni-chan's plugins. Maybe it is just a slight change you guys did?
June 21, 201214 yr P1lot, I'll look and see if I can find anything that changed to cause this...oddly, the only change I can think of is if we made the plug-in more stream-lined so it would run quicker...it would get done before snap could mount, but I will look into it and see if I can find a change that would cause it. Hilly, you downloaded it wrong, When you go to the link in my sig, scroll down and you'll see the links for the plug-ins, right click and save as for the sickbeard plugin.
June 21, 201214 yr I go to sig, scroll down, right click, save link as, change to all file types and save to folder - it apperas in folder now as .htm extension and not .txt (which i know how to fix) so if i rename to remove the .htm thats not the same? i dont know what i am doing different ...... nd just as a check i did exactly the same for one of the others and it also comes down as a .htm and not .txt now even with all file types selected? Arghhhhhhhh
June 21, 201214 yr Go to link. Left click one of the plugins you want. On the next screen right click the RAW button. Save that as the .plg file.
June 21, 201214 yr , I'm not sure what happens there, your describing it right atleast. You must save the one at the bottom under the header "downloads" I've attached a copy, remove .txt and it should work fine. I've verified its correct, and it is the working plug-in direct from my flash drive. Kricker, I edited the readme so that downloads can be found on the main page instead of having to click on raw, still not the most intuitive but atleast I could include instructions right with the downloads, sickbeard_mod.plg.txt
June 21, 201214 yr Ahh nice. That's much better. Can you move the readme section with the dl links above the source section?
