Is a cache drive required for all these plug ins. Thanks

  • Author

This must be answered for all the plugins separately. But control panel itself don't need cache drive.

I'm seeing 'Check Error' for many columns for various plugins. The versions don't seem to show either.

That explains it and thank for the link.

I already have some of these plugins installed.....what is the best way to install this control panel?  Can I just install over the others?  Do I need to stop the plugins I have to install this?  Or do I need to remove those and use the ones from the control panel?

Thanks!

2014-03-27 17:32:56 ERROR 404: NOT FOUND.

bad download, deleting

thanks

Lou

I seem to have installed it OK.

No error messages I could see.

I'm running unRAID Server Plus v5.0.1.

However, I get no additional icons on the Settings tab, even after a reboot.

Any idea how I should debug?

which control_panel-ikosa.plg  did you use no matter what I do I end up with the same error?

I'm on unraid 5.0.5

Thanks

Doesn't Dropbox have a 2 Factor Authorization capability? Do you have that turned on?

(If so, I think there's a way to turn it OFF on the Dropbox.com side for certain devices.)

if you click on the like in the above post where I posted the error it will say page can't be found.

It must have been down earlier. It works now.  It's just a picture.

I'm trying to install my first plugin, Control Panel.

I'm baffled by the first line of the instructions

"1) download the file to /boot/config/plugins"

Is this on the flash disk ?

My flash has a config directory, but there is no plugins directory within that.

Should I simply create the directory or am I looking in the wrong place.

I can muddle my way around a CLI, but am still learning.

Unraid v5.0.5 Pro

Thanks

You can create the directory

Thanks for your help, I'm making progress. Created the directory, copied control_panel-ikosa.plg into same directory.

Did this :

root@Tower:~# installplg /boot/config/plugins/control_panel-ikosa.plg

Get this immediate response :

file /boot/config/plugins/control_panel/control_panel.png: downloading from -q --no-check-certificate http://lime-technology.com/wiki/images/d/dd/Control_panel.png ...

Then after perhaps 20 seconds, get this :

bad download, deleting

While this is happening I can see the .png created then deleted from the directory.

This is all running on a new Lexar USB flash.

If I paste this into my browser, it's loads an small pic ok

I don't know why it is not working for you but you can copy png manually to control panel Directory to try

Copying the file manually into that directory works and the installer recognises that it's there and skips to the next file.

The error is repeating for every file so far, I've manually copied 4 pngs into that directory now.

Will carry on, unless you have a better idea.

That's not specific to control panel you have problem with downloading files I had that issue before but not sure about the solution first try restarting your server try reinstalling openssl. I wrote about this issue but not sure on which topic...

Restart server solved.

Control Panel installed ok and now open.

Time for some new learning.

Thanks for your help.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello all

I'm new to unRAID but been thinking of it for a while now and I finally decided to make a test environment before purchasing parts and a pro license. I have configured the USB key and the server, installed Unmenu and dynamix, both work fine. Now I can't seem to install Control Panel 3.2. I get the following error message from either Telnet or Console (Connected video and keyboard). I read through this thread and others have had the same problem and the posted solution doesn't work for me. I downloaded the plugin (well more save as, then remove the .txt) several times with Firefox and Chrome. Still get the same error. What am I doing wrong? How do I save this plugin properly?

1) download the file to /boot/config/plugins (I created the directory and copied from Win 7 the control_panel-ikosa.plg into the folder)

2a) Run "installplg /boot/config/plugins/control_panel-ikosa.plg" via telnet-session (I login as root and ran that string from there?)

or (do you mean "Then" instead of "or"?)

2b) Reboot

TestNAS login: root

Linux 3.9.11p-unRAID.

root@TestNAS:~# installplg /boot/config/plugins/control_panel-ikosa.plg

installing plugin: control_panel-ikosa

Warning: simplexml_load_file(): I/O warning : failed to load external entity "/boot/config/plugins/control_panel-ikosa.plg" in /usr/local/sbin/installplg on line 13  xml parse error root@TestNAS:~#

Thank you for your help

If you do installplg then you don't have to reboot, so "or" is correct. If you don't do installplg then the next reboot unRAID will installplg for you.

simplexml_load errors are usually the result of bad downloads or copies of the plugin file.

Thanks for the quick reply

Then I'm not downloading this properly. When I click on the plugin link it opens the xml file in a new tab and I then do a save as and it saves it as a control_panel-ikosa.plg.txt I then remove the .txt and save it to my USB key and then plug it into my server. Is this the way to do it?

Thanks
