April 3, 20179 yr Author I hate to say it, but this is exactly the reason I moved from my native install of unifi-video on Arch Linux (I even maintain the AUR package for it!) to this docker in Ubuntu. My cameras were constantly disconnecting and re-connecting. They kind of worked, but hadn't recorded anything for weeks. Reset them, tossed them against this docker image and... bam, they're fine. I was never able to figure out what the problem even was. If your VM is working, maybe that is a sign to stick with it. April 22, 20179 yr Hi, I'm using Unraid 6.3.2 with Unifi Docker. I've configured in Unifi the Autobackup feature and I'm also make an appdata backup weekly using the CA backup app. The problem is that inside the Unifi appdata folder I've only the logs directory. At the same time if I run the following command: docker exec -it UniFi /bin/bash cd /usr/lib/unifi Then I can see all the Unifi folders included the Autobackup. There is a way to include the autobackup folder inside the appdata folder? Thanks in advance

Im hesitant to flash to 3.7.55 manually in case there is an issue on the controller side with that build.

August 26, 20178 yr Currently having issues with the Unifi-Video docker. It's not available from Community Apps, so I had to add it from DockerHub. Once installed, I had to manually create the system.properties file and I added the following into the file: "is_default=true" Only way to get the docker to start was to set it to "Privileged". Once the docker was restarted and I tried to open the webui, it opened a blank page without the URL string to the UI, so I have to manually type in the address with the proper port. Can you let me know how to fix that? Once I manually type the URL into a browser, I was presented with the Uni-Fi UI saying that it was upgrading and then it is asking me to log in... the install / configuration wizard is not presented. I tried to log in via the default UBNT ID / PW, but no good. Below is the docker log. 2017-08-26 19:17:08.204564 [warn] PUID not defined (via -e PUID), defaulting to '99' 2017-08-26 19:17:08.259225 [warn] PGID not defined (via -e PGID), defaulting to '100' 2017-08-26 19:17:08.311434 [info] Permissions already set for volume mappings Starting unifi-video... done. One last thing... the docker icon was not set, so I manually had to set it to: https://dl.ubnt.com/press/Company_Logos/U_Logo/WEB/U_Logo_RGB.png Any help is appreciated... August 26, 20178 yr After taking a break, I was able to get the setup wizard to run, configured it as well as adopt it into my UBNT cloud account. My mistake was leaving the quotes in the system properties file. So this is all you need to invoke the wizard: is_default=true Edited August 26, 20178 yr by luisv

The Beta is required if you have a new UVC Micro G3.
September 21, 20178 yr I have a question that may have been answered somewhere before but I cannot find it in a search. I am running the UniFi docker in Unraid and it works great. However, I need to create a config.gateway.json file and put it in the /data/sites/ directory. I cannot find this directory anywhere. There should be a /maps directory in the /sites directory. What I am trying to accomplish is to put a Unifi Security Gateway (USG) in pass-through mode. In order to do this in with persistance, you have to add the .json file to the controller and it is provisioned to the USG. Otherwise, the USG will revert every time it is updated. There is no way thru the UI to do this yet. This is the link to describe what I am doing. https://community.ubnt.com/t5/UniFi-Routing-Switching/Guide-to-disabling-NAT-on-USG/td-p/2012460/highlight/false Can someone please provide steps to find and access this directory Regards, JC
September 21, 20178 yr After updating the Unifi-Video docker this morning, my cameras were stuck in a managing state. I did a little research and based on the released notes for 3.8.0, it looks like folks will need to add another port or update the port list to the docker properties. https://community.ubnt.com/t5/UniFi-Video/NVR-3-0-8-Cameras-stuck-in-quot-managing-quot-State/m-p/2068710#M86596 https://community.ubnt.com/t5/UniFi-Video-Blog/UniFi-Video-3-8-0-Release/ba-p/2067768 Quote Important Notes ** In order to improve the security of camera communication, cameras will now connect to the controller using port 7442 instead of the web UI port (7443) ** Cameras running pre-3.8 firmware will be allowed to connect via port 7443 to be discovered and initiate software upgrade, but will only be allowed to fully connect over port 7442 (upgraded cameras should connect via 7442 after upgrade) Any network configurations that define special rules for forwarding port 7443 for camera connections will need to be adjusted, adding port 7442 as allowed/forwarded to the server with UniFi Video installed. Type: docker exec -it "UniFi" /bin/bash That will let you enter the running docker. When you'll find where is located the sites folder, you can add your config file in it.

Hi Graham, Just updated the UniFi to 5.5.24. I also created a Beta branch, currently having 5.6.19.
