Same here

Yeah, started to panic when Tailscale came up blacklisted for me....

Community Applications appear as "blacklisted" for me, too

Same issue, couldn't get connect to activate flash back-up, installed hot fix. Now blacklisted apps and my display settings somehow changed after the update. Still can't activate flash backup on connect.

Hi all,

In the Apps > Action Centre I have various plugins that appear as blacklisted, e.g. Tailscale, Unassigned Devices, even Community Applications. In all cases, I get an error like the one below:

Fatal: GitHub user appears to be different between template repository and xml/plugin Plugin URL /unraid/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg /unraid/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg /hussainalhaddad/docker-templates/master/limetech/community.applications.xml

Fatal: GitHub user appears to be different between template repository and xml/plugin Plugin URL /unraid/unassigned.devices/master/unassigned.devices.plg /unraid/unassigned.devices/master/unassigned.devices.plg /hussainalhaddad/docker-templates/master/limetech/unassigned.devices.xml

Anyone knows what the issue might be?

I'm running Unraid 7.1.4.

Same for me with the following plugins:

  • Community Applications

  • Fix Common Problems

  • Unassigned Devices

  • Unassigned Devices Plus (Addon)

Same here, it blacklisted itself and some other applications:

Yeah. Every plugin published by Limetech wound up being blacklisted depending upon where you looked (blacklisted in Action Centre, but not blacklisted elsewhere)

Reason is that another maintainer wound up forking the templates for them and put them into his own published repository. Backend realizes that the plugins he's effectively trying to publish (hopefully inadvertently) have the source code in a repository hosted by another user (in this case Limetech). Since the user publishing the templates and the user with the source code aren't the same, the feed to maintain the security and integrity of the system blacklists the plugins because there is something going on that is implicitly shady.

That maintainer has now been removed from the lists to recover from this.

Or put another way, the system did work as designed to protect the user base. The feed has now recovered, and while the blacklistings were correct and proper nobody was in any danger and the circumstance that led to the blacklist has been resolved

Thankfully the safeguards caught this. What would have happened though if the source code were in the user's name also (xml and plg)? Is there another layer of safeguards in place that would prevent rogue re-listing of someone else's plugins, if the rogue repo is alphabetically higher and indexed before the actual repo (as in this case)? I'm thinking if the definition and source code are under the same username, as they should be, they probably would not trip this particular safeguard, but would such rogue re-listed plugins still be caught as new and previously unseen plugins?

Thanks for the diligence and transparency, glad to see such things are taken care of! 🤗

If the source had been in the same GH user then it winds up being a new plugin. A new plugin gets flagged and I receive a notification, and until the plugins are code-reviewed etc etc the they aren't available. In other words, I would've seen the same thing and not approved it.

Similarly, if Limetech or anyone else decided to publish a brand new plugin for the OS that fixes everything including the kitchen sink then it better not happen while I'm asleep - nobody gets a free pass on plugins - no exceptions.

99.999% sure the chain of events was done harmlessly, but either way security trumps everything else. I'd rather have this happen (and rediscover that the situation is better than coffee to wake up with) than something slipping through.

@TwistedCarnivore @snidera

Can you try this and tell me if this fixes your issues.

Uninstall Community Applications from the plugins tab. Then in the Install Plugin section paste this in there:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/unraid/community.applications/refs/heads/css/plugins/community.applications-css.plg

You may see a popup saying it's taking longer than expected etc but curious if this does fix it. Timeouts are adjusted, and also need to know if any display issues etc show on 7.0/7.1 (shouldn't be though). You don't need to test anything specifically though. It's a major revamp of the CSS

This Fix works ! Thx

Awesome. Once this version is out of beta you’ll have to switch back to the other version. But if you do notice any oddities let me know. It’s safe to run but beyond the basics I haven’t gone through with a fine tooth comb on versions earlier than 7.2 and anything you happen to notice just during normal use saves me a ton of work. FCP will probably yell at you for an unknown plugin installed so just ignore that. You also now wind up in the credits as a tester lol

Worked, but took a LONG time and rolled through the 2 timeout errors. My internet is slow (4Mbps) and my kid is on youtube 24/7, but it probably took 2 minutes.

Still on 7.0.1. No display problems.

Something is wrong. Taking much longer than expected. Investigate possible network / internet connection hardware issues. Still attempting to load. Please wait... Aborting will recover, but might cause Community Applications some issues.

Thanks for the fix & all the work you've put in Unraid over the years.

7.1.4

Saw the same as snidera but it works.

No display issues.

Thanks for you work here. Willing to test whatever you need.

I cannot get my community apps to work. I've tried everything and I'm not sure what else to do. I don't know if it's a DNS issue or if it's my server. Everything else works great, but I can't get it to work. I've even factory reset my router. I have an Xfinity xFi router/modem combo. I'm working on trying to replace it with an individual router and modem, but this is what I'm working with for the time being.

I've tried changing the DNS settings on unraid to all of the recommended ones, restarting my server, restarting my router, factory resetting my router, downloading a stock version of unraid to a new flash drive and loading it, same issues. I've tried to uninstall CA, reinstall, restarting my server in between.

I deleted my docker image because it was at 50GB so I was going to try to get to the bottom of it, but now I cannot download any of my containers. I'm hitting a wall here.

See Squid's post from Friday & try:

Uninstall Community Applications from the plugins tab. Then in the Install Plugin section paste this in there:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/unraid/community.applications/refs/heads/css/plugins/community.applications-css.plg

It's a test version of the plugin.

Meantime, you can use the 'Add Container' button on the docker page & use a template of the docker to re-load them.....

That didn't work either. I can't add the container from the docker page either. I'm attaching screenshots and my diagnostics.

If you aborted, then it does continue if you remain on the page, but the message is generic in that its for all backend communication, not simply the downloads.

Timeouts are lengthened on the primary server, but then unlimited on the backup server, so there is an extra 30 seconds being tacked on since that's the timeout on primary. Not sure if I'd want the primary to have no timeout before it switches over to the backup though

Nothing in particular. Just anything that you notice. Another update pushed out today for it. Putting this out to the production version is close, but either way requires me to do complete compatibility tests on everything in 7.1, 7.0 and 6.12

The popup in CA is weird because it thinks the appfeed downloaded, but in reality it didn't -> I'll have to investigate and try and replicate. (But, there is an update to the beta plugin issued today)

The TLS error I'd trying resetting your modem / router and if that doesn't fix then recreate your docker.img file and reinstall from Apps - Previous apps. After that, I'd post in General Support as it isn't a CA problem

And for those waiting on repositories to be added to the system, I wound up behind schedule and its being done now

Just got my nas today and brand new to unraid. I can see the community app store but I can't download anything. Also, whenever I try to make changes to default settings, I never see a done button only the reset button. When I click done, the app store just refreshes nothing else happens.

EDIT: Found my problem. I had to delete the browser cache. Leaving this here in case someone else is a noob and has the same problem.
