[Support] binhex - DelugeVPN

You're right, SwitchySharp seems to work ok, honestly I don't really care so much as long as i can quickly turn it on and off at will :)

I hope you aren't thinking you are anonymous when you switch to the VPN. The cookies set in normal mode will follow you through the VPN, meaning anybody that really wants to know can seamlessly connect your VPN IP to your real IP without even trying.

To be as anonymous as possible, you have to use a specific browser profile ONLY on VPN, and don't log in to any sites using your non-VPN credentials. You must keep the two separate.

There is actually more involved, good security and anonymity is hard.

I'm not that worried about anonymity, its a nice idea, but i know what i'm doing isn't so.  Its just to move around rudimentary ISP blocks easy in case i need to.

Is it possible to have sab vpn and deluge vpn running at the same time? I've had deluge running for a while now but after SpaceInvader's Sonarr video decided to try sab as well. When setting up binhex sab vpn docker it tells me the ports are in use already. Do I just need to choose different ports? Will there be problems further down the line? Or is there a way of using a sab docker with privoxy?

Remove the privoxy port and disable it in one or the other. Don't run privoxy in both containers, one is all you need.

Hello.

After the last update i cant start the docker.

No errors or anything, only a bunch of numbers.

This is the last before it stops posting in the log:

edit: perhaps i can put it back to its older version, can anyone guide me in the right direction on how to ?

EDIT 2:

i`ve managed to roll back the version, and now its working :)

But do i have to do something else than just install the newest version?

so strange it didnt work.

i suspect Q8. from the following link is relevant here:-

Managed to get it working by comparing the appdata contents of the delugevpn and sabvpn dockers and copying over the openvpn files.

the openvpn configuration files are no longer baked in for PIA, you now need to download them, see Q8 from the following link:-

I'm up and running now with airvpn - looks good!

I have a question about ports.  In this guide  https://airvpn.org/faq/p2p/ it says to use a airvpn forwarded port to get the best performance.  Is it safe to change the incoming 58946 port hardcoded into the app e..g. to 19192 by adding an extra port to the docker so it can accept incoming data on the new port?

I'm assuming it's definitely safe to change the outgoing as the default sets this to use a random port.

Thanks in advance

ok so to be clear you change the port for deluge application, you shouldn't add an additional port to the container, as this port is for the vpn tunnel not to your lan/router/isp, but yes it is highly recommended to get a decent dl/ul rate.

thanks for the fast reply and the explanation - makes sense, and clears up my confusion about the incoming port as I thought you had to add ports to containers for them to be contactable on that port.  I guess for this app all traffic goes down the container VPN port - neat.

you only need to port forward 8112 if your accessing deluge using transdrone outside of your lan, you also need to have ip table mangle support for this to work (see the /config/supervisord.log)

I would like to use transdrone / web portal outside my lan, but cannot do this after set port forward with TCP & UCP protocol in my router.

I have found iptable message in the log file. Anything I need to configure?

dont do this, you dont need to port forward on your router, al traffic inbound and outbound is via the vpn tunnel.

you will always see "iptables" in the log, this is NOT the same as "iptable mangle" look for the keyword "mangle" in your supervisord.log that will tell if its loaded or not, if it isnt then you cannot access the webui outside of your lan until you fix this.

I found such message in the log file.

"[info] unRAID users: Please attempt to load the module by executing the following on your host:- '/sbin/modprobe iptable_mangle'"

Should I run this in unraid or any UI setting can do so?

that command needs to be run on the host (as in unraid) not inside the container, so SSH to unraid and then run the command exactly as below, then restart the container and you should then see in the log that its successfully loaded the iptable mangle module, then try transdrone.:-

/sbin/modprobe iptable_mangle

OK, new problem... After making sure my PIA vpn files were up to date the docker will not start.

The ovpn path should be /config/openvpn/netherlands.ovpn not /._netherlands.ovpn? But when checking the oven file the line 'remote nl.privateinternetaccess.com 1198' is present.

Replacing the ovpn, cert and pem files with those downloaded from PIA allows the docker to start up as expected, but if I restart it the error recurs and the docker is unable to start.

Been a while since I had to set up DelugeVPN as up till now it just worked.

But short story I have a few errors that puzzle me.

Is this something I should be concerned about and if so is there a fix?

i would assume you have anti virus software on your mac that is incorrectly thinking that the openvpn config file is a virus (go figure!), so its quarantining it, and replacing the file with a message saying its been quarantined. my advise would be to exclude all *.ovpn files from being scanned

that command needs to be run on the host (as in unraid) not inside the container, so SSH to unraid and then run the command exactly as below, then restart the container and you should then see in the log that its successfully loaded the iptable mangle module, then try transdrone.:-

/sbin/modprobe iptable_mangle

Tried but I cannot get through after restart the server.... ?
