Hi guys, probably a really dumb question but I have never used rclone before. Followed spaceinvaders video on youtube from 6 years ago and setup onedrive, mounted and can view using SMB.

However if I understand this correctly, this is just direct mapping the drive. Similar to the onedrive app... What I am actually after is onedrive back up to my array. Is this possible...? Assuming I would need to create another separate script to copy /mnt/disks/onedrive to /mnt/user/shares/onedrive weekly?

Hi there, responding only three years later... I had the same issue - how to backup my Onedrive to an Unraid share. The solution I found was use rclone CLI for Windows. How I did this:

Create a new share in Unraid as the target for the backup

Mount the target unraid backup share in Windows (eg Y:)

In rclone for Windows, create a config for Onedrive

From rclone, test that the shares are showing correctly (eg rclone lsd onedriveshare:)

Do a dry run (rclone copy onedriveshare: Y: --progress --dry-run)

If the dry run is good, redo the copy command but remove the --dry-run field

There's a problem with rclone 1.73.2 and nzbdav - does anyone know how to rollback using the plugin to 1.73.1?

Thanks

@Kaizac FYI

Update: nzbdav have updated to fix the issue. If anyone needs to rollback in the future I temporarily uninstalled the plugin and used:

rclone selfupdate --version 1.73.1

Make sure you backup your config before doing so as uninstalling the plugin removes it!!!

Hello,

I have a weird problem with rclone. I have 2 x USB (WD Elements) drives which I use in rotations for backup. One is a 2 TB drive, the other is 6 TB. Both are formatted in NTFS.

My rclone command is the following: rclone sync /mnt/user/ /mnt/disks/Elements/ -l --include="{Data,Multimedia,home,photos_immich}/**"

When I run the rclone command on the 2 TB drive things work just fine. On the 6 TB drive however rclone fails to copy the files and for each of them throws an error that says: Failed to copy: preallocate: file too big for remaining disk space.

Any idea on how to fix the problem? I really don't understand what is going on here.

Thanks.

  • 1 month later...

I just set up rclone and am using it to sync offsite. I noticed that it's reading data from the drives, but they're not showing as active. My cache drives are active, but all the data I am syncing is on the array.

Edit to add: Every time I've ever browsed my files on the array, it's spun on the drive. I just noticed it's not doing that now. Not thinking it's an rclone issue, but I just started using when I noticed the drives not active, so assumed it was related.
