Do you see an increase in CPU usage (or do you see a high CPU usage while MakeMKV read the file) ? Do you reproduce the issue with all kind of images ? I tried on my side with a standard DVD image and I didn't see a problem.

February 13, 20251 yr v.24.07.1 works as expected, issue starts with v.24.11.1 update to FFMPEG 5 and MakeMKV 1.17.8. perhaps a ffmpeg issue or a MakeMKV issue can we try building a MakeMKV 1.17.9 with FFMPEG 4 and a MakeMKV 1.17.7 with FFMPEG 5 for testing

April 1, 20251 yr Can't seem to get this container to work, i've queried the drive info and added them to the setup as shown in the guide. So it can see the drive without a disc in it, but as soon as a disc is inserted it won't do anything more than loading. Using the web gui, can click stop, still loading, restart container still loading. Just seems to hang on this screen. Drive/disk worked fine on windows, internal drive connected via sata Drive not mounted and used in anything else to my knowledge, i.e no vms running, no other dockers running that would use it etc

April 5, 20251 yr Yep, there are a few posts about the later versions and linux on the forums so i had surmised as much. I pulled an older docker image and it worked perfectly. So it's seems an issue with Linux and the latest versions of MakeMKV. Nice to know it wasn't something i did in the setup. MakeMKV 1.17.7 is the version that works for anyone that has the same issue
April 9, 20251 yr I noticed MakeMKV has been updated to 1.18.1. Any idea when the container will be updated?

I know some patches for the auto rip were done and issues with FFmpeg updates. Latest was kept back to maintain a working instance. Review forum post on page 35... https://hub.docker.com/r/jlesage/makemkv/tags github: https://github.com/jlesage/docker-makemkv per github release: Version 25.02.1 dockr tags are running MakeMKV to version 1.17.9. April 10, 20251 yr Awesome Thank you... For those who get the error can't download the sdf file https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28281 File download at: https://www.makemkv.com/sdf.bin you can manually download the file and place it in the container path "/config/data" folder for the docker... and paste then run the docker... I decided to reinstall the template do to temp fixes and changes and ran across the error couldn't download...
May 11, 20251 yr Quick question, did anyone manage to add a custom profile for auto ripping? I created one and uploaded it but when trying to create the variable for the container it doesn't do anything. I edit the Container and set AUTO_DISC_RIPPER_MAKEMKV_PROFILE to /config/profile.xml but when I run the container and run env I see it is still unset

You may need to set other tempate options via the advance toggle and set settings... as explainmed earlier in the forum... jlesage/makemkv I'm using the lattest repository and running 1.18 Somewhere in 1.17 there was a auto rip bug... as noted and fixed by adding the nobody home folder to the same path as the config folder. This has been fixed int eh lattest release auto rip is working for me

That's what I did, I set the variable for the config that I want the autoripper to use but within the container it still uses the standard config. Otherwise autoripping works fine but I'd like it to use my custom Config file
May 12, 20251 yr Author Can you check the output of "docker inspect MakeMKV" to confirm that the variable is properly set ? Do you see any related message when ripping a disc ? While ripping a disc, could your share the output of "ps" inside the container ?
May 12, 20251 yr Nevermind, my mistake was, that I didn't see the variable existed under the advanced settings so I added a new one. But apparently my custom variable was overwritten by the default one. If I add the config file to the already present entry for the variable it works. Is there any way to prevent MakeMKV from ripping a movie twice? It seems to create one file with and one without chapters, otherwise they don't differ at all so I'm not sure if I can filter this somehow in the auto ripper

Maybe there are 2 versions of the movie on the disc ? Edited May 14, 20251 yr by Djoss
