Fix Common Problems is also reporting the librtvirt.hotplug.usb.plg is unknown on both my Unraid 6.12.15 and 6.12.10 servers. Never had this issue prior.

See above!

I have this before my Unraid Update too.

Thanks kindly. Yes I did see your post above before posting and read the links.

But unsure what to do... Do I remove the plug since it is no longer being supported by the developer or ignore it's warnings?

Cheers from Nova Scotia...

Actually I ignored the 3 Plugins in Fix Common Problems and hope of an Reaction from the Developer about the actually Situation and hope for the future of an Continue.

Yes, he was archived. The most over Repositorys incl. UD, ... too.

Has there been any announcement from dlandon as to what's going on? Are they just stopping work on it or are the repos/projects migrated somewhere else?

https://github.com/dlandon/libvirt.hotplug.usb hasn't been deleted so you can still install it, but the other github repositories were nuked. Does anybody have a copy of those?

How do you update the plugin from github via Unraid?

Only experience I have with github is installing an add-on for Blender3D on a Windows 10/11 computer.

Updating? No idea. But there's Plugins > Install Plugin for installation.

You can post this in the plugins page to install. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dlandon/libvirt.hotplug.usb/refs/heads/master/libvirt.hotplug.usb.plg

USB Manager also has a hotplug function.

You may need to enable in the settings.

But I already have the plugin installed. I am asking how to update it. Or are you suggesting I remove the plugin and then install from github?

dlandond didn't delete the plugin repo like he did for other, but did remove it from CA

as the xml called form this project github.

I would recommend using the usb magner moving forward as this is in an unknown state and may become unmaintained.

That is odd as he just updated this plugin April 26/2025. When did he remove it from the App Community Store?

yes seems he removed it from CA only...
Squid has a fork that will install this but at this time I'm failry confident this is now considered unmaintained...

use usb manger for similar functionality

I'm not going to be forking this plugin.  Because it is no longer available within Apps, the messaging the FCP is now changed, with it now being advised to switch to USB Manager.  Similar functionality and still maintained and more feature rich

is he not also the developer of the "recycle bin" plugin?

Recycle Bin, UD, UD+ and Preclear are all published officially by Unraid and are not in the same situation as the author's other plugins

Really not liking these plugins being deprecated lately.

Sure USB manager technically allows similar functionality of "accessing a USB device from a VM" but in a more complicated way... that's more messy than it should for the "connect this device just that one time" with permanent bindings you'd then have to clean up after you're done etc...

I've had both plugins installed for different kinds of uses, they both have their place.

This situation is out of my hands.  If you're willing to fork libvirt and the licensing allows it, then the messaging in FCP would change accordingly.  Until that happens, the messaging advising to switch is the advice which I have to give.

There is a VM page hot plug in USB Manager also does exactly the same as this plugin, you don't have to use the other functions.image.png.0f725a7d5fed23b96bca7ca8b2d779

Never saw that, looks like it has to be manually enabled.

Maybe its activated by Default in a next Update, than we can you this or we became the way to find/activated this.

If it helps, I had to disable, apply, enable, apply "Enable USB Manager Hotplug on VM page" to get it to show up in the VM page.  Just installing the plugin isn't enough.

Maybe an Conflict with the old libvirt Plugin.

I removed this and disabled/enabled the Options in the USB Plugin and I became all? Options showed.
