I just enable Test Mode for testing, after I noticed the cache not being used, as described last week (https://forums.unraid.net/topic/70783-plugin-mover-tuning/page/108/#findComment-1554238).

The cache has not reached 95% in a long time, but stays under 10%.

If i manually start Mover, nothing is moved, which fits the behaviour I'm looking for!

I will observe this over the next days more closely.

In case of Mover moving all the cache again to the array without respecting the 95% threshold, what logs would you need?

I am not following, the system is low load as in not being used, perfect time for mover to run. How do I debug this?

No SMB shares, no NFS shares.

This should be same if runned by schedule or manually by mover start or mover button .

You can send Mover Tuning Debug Package (.zip) its contain your config and all mover logs and debug logs from today.

if it was move all data , maybe you had (Force move of all files on a schedule , Move All from Primary->Secondary) options enabled ?

In settings - Log Mover Tuning, Debug Log Mover Tuning.

I'm not sure if I set the settings right for the mover tuning. My goal is that stuff will first go on the cache and then get moved (especially TV shows and movies) to the array in the morning daily. Would this be correct?

Looks fine, maybe you want to clean parent folders also or zfs datasets after moving files

Ok I looked in there without debug on and yeah the last line in Mover_tuning_2025-05-19T104958.log says cleaning up. I will enable debug and see what it adds.

Edit: running it manually now, do I post if I can't work it out or private message for help? Thanks

Nothing was output in the logs after, it says cleaning up and hangs.

Looking this morning, it ran last night, and it hung this time on:

Doesn't seem to run. Got an alert that the disk full is over 80% and the mover tuning didn't run.

how is your mover schedule setted ?

disk warning is not a trigger to run the mover, just as note.

See a few posts above - its set 70% full to move and then move all at 75% full. So me getting an alert that the cache is over 80% means that neither triggered.

I did that and when I had the mover set to follow the tuning rules, it moved nothing.

then, and ONLY then the mover runs, no matter what is underneath setted up ...

WHEN the mover runs, it ll follow the rules which are then in mover tuning settings.

Ahhh, so the mover wont run if the other criteria are met if the schedule is set differently?

I have it set hourly - every 8hrs. Last time it hit the 8hr mark, it ran but moved 0 items.

exactly, ONLY the schedule will trigger the mover ... which will THEN follow the rules from mover tuning.

now, if nothing was moved its on you to provide logs for @Masterwishx ;)

files > age, files > size, ... should be then on your cache and the reason why not ... check the readme for the proper diags

You have set files 10 days old and 1024M size will be moved , so if this not meet even if cache size more 70% , nothing will be moved ...

But as you have Move all 75% should move all files after 75%
