BTW they are not errors, it is simply telling you that you are using custom args in your vm settings.

Thanks for your response, I am trying to change my CPU mode to emulated and it just keeps setting it back to my cpu as the mode.

Sorry but I don't think I understood, you are not able to edit the xml and made the changes persistent?

Post your xml (deleting the osk part please)

Here is my xml, will not let me change it to emulated in normal mode.

Sorry, but what do you mean by normal mode?

Switch to xml mode and completely delete the following lines:

  <cpu mode='host-passthrough' check='none'>
    <topology sockets='1' cores='2' threads='1'/>
  </cpu>

After you delete that lines save in the xml view and try to start the vm

which error?

Unraid version?

Cpu and ram in the host?

Does it hang at apple logo?

You should provide clover log, because usually all machines are able to start with that settings.

ok I understand that, I am trying to get hold of my AM3+ CPU that I want in it, but with the isolation going on I cannot gain access to it :( will have to try this again once I switch the CPU.  Thank you for your help ghost82

I'm having a strange issue that I have truly tried to search for a fix prior to posting.  I have both a Catalina and a Mojave VM on my system and both are working great but they are exhibiting a strange difference that I cannot explain.  On Catalina, I can change the mouse settings, reverse the scroll direction, etc...  On the Mojave VM, there is "no mouse found" however the mouse works just fine but I don't have an option to change the scroll direction.  I've compared the xml and they seem to be identical.  The only XML changes I've made to these VMs was CPU cores and Ram.  Both start and run perfectly.

 

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi, not an issue with the vm but with mojave itself (you can read about similar problems for real macs too).

If you want to set the scroll type try with a terminal command:

Read the current type of scrolling:

defaults read -g com.apple.swipescrolldirection

It returns 1 or 0.

1=Natural scroll direction

0=Not natural scroll direction

 

Then change the setting with:

defaults write -g com.apple.swipescrolldirection -bool false

true=Natural scroll direction

false=Not natural scroll direction

 

NB: after changing the setting via terminal you must reboot your vm.

Hi, having an issue with my install. Installed everything and when loading VNC it doesn't connect (has the 3 dots moving across trying to connect)

I am using a separate SSD to install the MacOS on, I think Ive done that correctly.

Check your xml, you don't have any custom qemu:args required to boot mac os.

I also suggest to delete the cpu topology from the xml for the first boot and to switch network to vmxnet3 or better e1000-82545em.

Thanks for your help, got past the first problem by deleting the VM and starting from scratch and changing the cores down to 8.

Now got an issue where it stays on the boot screen with the following

Here, change type from raw to qcow2.

Then remeber to check custom args at the end of the xml.

Thanks, got to the next screen which said press enter to boot. Pressed enter and now on the following screen. Been a few minutes and 1 core of the cpu is pegged at 100% but nothings happened so far. How long should it normally take this part or is it frozen?
