N00b question here.  I've got a Plex Server Docker running smoothly, and I thought I'd share some music on my Windows desktop with Plex.  I've set up a local Windows account called "plex" that has read permissions.  Via the UD web UI, I can click through the Add Remote SMB share dialogs and pick and select the share.  When I click on the orange "mount" button, it blinks grey, then goes back to orange.  I never see the mount  name under /mnt/remotes/.  Ideas appreciated.  I'm sure I'm missing something basic.

When I hover the mouse over the icon it says "Excute Script as udev simulating a device being installed"
and when I click on it I got a message window with "/tmp/unassigned.devices/scripts/TDAS_RAID5-part1.sh 2>&1"
I do not understand what are these, and why I got this icon on this partition only.. all other devices and partitions have a "check mark" icon on them
do I did something wrong in here..

You have a script defined for that partition.  Click on the three gears and you'll see the script defined to run when the device is plugged in,  The check mark is enabled when the partition is not mounted and is used for doing a file system check on the partition.

The last one I have tried was a new one already. Same brand (Intenso) by different model. 4TB (first) and 1TB (second). I can additionally try a USB stick later today.

I have not seen anyone else report this issue, and I cannot reproduce the problem.  That's why I think it might be disk related.

I suspect it might be the name of the device not being correctly parsed, maybe the period?

It's working now with the server IP address instead of the name.  Despite that I could click and select the server and the share, the log showed the error that it could not resolve the server name on attempting to mount.  The server name did show up twice in the pick list (it has two IP addresses), so that could be part of the problem.

Please do the following:

  • Remove the drive.
  • Click on the red X on the drive in the historical drive list to have UD forget the drive.
  • Plug the drive back in.
  • Click the '+' to show the partitions.
  • Give me a screen shot of the UD page.
  • Don't make any changes.

I want you to try something for me because I have no way of reproducing your issue.

Unzip the attached file and copy it to your flash drive.  Then execute the following command in an Unraid terminal:

cp /boot/lib.php /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/unassigned.devices/include/lib.php

Once you've done that, try to mount the luks disk.

lib.zip

I hope I did everything right? Why did I have to copy it to the flash drive (/boot/) first?

You didn't.  I just gave you a simple location to copy it to.

Now try this one.

lib.zip

After you copy it run this command:

rm /var/state/unassigned.devices/unassigned.devices.ini

If it doesn't work, show me another screen shot.

root@Unraid:/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/unassigned.devices/include# cp /mnt/user/Marc/lib.php /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/unassigned.devices/include/lib.php

Did it and first I wasn't able to mount but then I re-entered the encryption password in the UD settings and now I was able to mount the drive. Do you know if there are any restrictions regarding the encryption password?

I will try everything from scratch with the 1TB HDD again in the next days, to see if what happens. I will keep you posted. Thanks a lot for your help so far. Very much appreciated.

What should I do with the lib.php I have copied over? Leave it or delete it?

Try not to use special characters.

Leave it.  I'm going to issue an update to UD with the changes I've just made.
