Hitachi 3T 7200 RPM. $199.99 FS

* * * THESE ARE CURRENTLY NOT SUPPORTED BY UNRAID * * *

But I almost can't resist getting one anyway just to see what unRAID would do with it! ;)

UCD - Perhaps one day there will be a cure. ;)

You'll need two.  One for parity, one for data.  ;)  (unRAID can't use them at this time, but you'll be the first on the block to complain they don't work)

Joe L.

Maybe we should all chip in and donate a few dollars to Tom to buy a pair.

He's already had $149 off me...

... to buy a pair.

That's a little harsh, don't you think? :P

Yes, especially considering there are lifetime upgrades.

Tom has never made any sort of request for "contributions" to cover his R&D expenditures. I wouldn't assume he is looking for that type of assistance.

If he needed a pair of these drives, he might find a couple forum members willing to make a purchase and let Tom use them for a few months, at which time Tom would return them to their owners.

BTW: 20 x 3 makes 60. 60 TB...  ;D

One step closer to my 1 XB server... mwuhahaha

Man I remember back a year or so when the 2TB drives where $199.00. I say flood the market so the 2TB's get even cheaper. ;)

It was a suggestion,  it did not come from Tom.  it came from me.

It was purely something whereby we would all benefit if these were in his hands.

I wont be needing or buying these for quite some time.

I still have 15 1TB drives and 5 other slots.

Guys, please don't take it to heart.

Someone from the forum donated something to me when I was asking for used equipment to test.

It was only a gesture.

I'll be adding support for these drives in 5.1 and have a couple on order right now.

Excellent news Tom.  Makes me feel good about all the bragging I do about how great Unraid and this community is  :)

I think I know where my next $400 is going. I mean the next $400 after 5.1 is available!

Damn straight.. Definitely need at least 1-2 of these.. 60TB limit now on unRAID.. fantastic.

We'll definitely be needing dual parity, 1 parity drive won't be cutting it for much longer.

I'll be holding out until later this year when the 4TB drives hit...  ;D

Or when they come down in price. Man they are mighty spendy right now.
