Your 1660Ti won‘t work with the open source branch, only the proprietary driver will work with the 1660Ti since it’s Pascal based.

The 1660 TI is Turing , it's supposed to work with open source branch as well as any other card from that architecture to Blackwell no ?

That is why i'm wondering why the nvidia plugin is suggesting a 575.57.05 as open source driver for both my 1660 TI and my 5060 while suggesting an older version for @alturismo and why that driver version is not working properly for both my cards.

I don‘t understand what you mean with that? The open source driver is compiled once when a new Unraid version is released.

Again, this is most of the times a hardware incompatibility issue.

Did you yet try to upgrade to Unraid 7.2.0 beta siereis and look if the open source driver is working there?

I didn't understand why i had a different version from alturismo and though it was related to the gpu itself but it is related to the unraid version , good to know

I just did which allowed my to get the same driver version as alturismo and now it's working perfectly !
Thank you !

Good morning, I have an issue with the driver I believe. Is not recognizing my rtx 5060 ti. I updated the unraid to 7.2 beta, I have nvidia drivers set up on open source but is still saying "Installed GPU(s): No devices were found".

Any suggestions what should I try next?

Thank you.

Post your Diagnostics, as pointed out in the first post since they are required to troubleshoot hardware issues

Have you tried disabling your iGpu ?

I dint, but I had an rtx a2000 before puting the 5060 ti and I didnt had any issues. I could try when I arrive home, but I don`t think thats the issues. Also I nuke the drivers because I read on the forum that for 50 series you need open. So I am not sure what is the issue. I read a bit on google and they are saying that it might need to be reseated and plug it again. I will try both of this when I am back home. Maybe I will get other solutions to try by then also :)

Thank you for your suggestion.

I'm not 100% sure how you did that but nouveau is enabled.

And your GPU fell from the BUS:

Aug 15 09:24:51 nas kernel: NVRM: Xid (PCI:0000:01:00): 79, GPU has fallen off the bus.

You also have a lot of entries in your syslog from Nvidia, was the card working before or did you just put it in your system.

When the card falls from the bus this can have multiple reasons, please don't use a PCIe riser if you have one installed, try another slot, try to lower the PCIe Gen to 4 or even down to 3 speed, make sure your BIOS is up to date.

Is a brand new card, I received it yesterday. I remove my rtx a2000 and I add this one. Now after I added I didn`t know why is not recognise, so I search on google and I found the forum post where it said to change to open source. So I did that but my card is still not working / recognise by the plugin. Also I just tried now on chatgpt and it say that I should try to remove it and try to reseat the gpu maybe that would work. I am not sure what is the issue.

What PSU are you using ?

The rtx 5060 ti is using double the amount of energy than the a2000

Did you try the card on another computer ?

I had an issue whe using an rtx 5080 with a motherboard with gen 5 pci but with a gen 4 pci riser

Not yet, I am still at work. Is a 750w or 650w (I don`t remember exactly) power supply from silverstone, about 1 year old. I do not have any riser cable is directly in the pcie slot. I didn't try it yet in an other computer.

So I reseat the gpu, I tried it on an other PC and is working. I even set up every pcie from bios on gen4/5. I am getting output on the gpu but the unraid just don't want to use it, is getting me this error when is starting:

Any other suggestions?

hey i just wanted to report back that updating BIOS to the latest edition (which was posted the day after i updated to the beta BIOS... 🥲) and turning off XMP profile, along with double checking 4g encoding/resizable bar was enabled... i have not had any of the issues previously reported. been stable for a few days now and been running GPU related tasks with no problems at all.

would try turning off any xmp profiles if enabled, and make sure bios are updated. cheers.

Hello lads, I managed to “fix” the issue that I had. Apparently my motherboard is advertised as pcie 5.0 and it have options to set up auto or 5.0 the pcie but when you leave it to auto or 5.0 or even 4.0 is breaking the unraid (when I say that it mean that my pools are not working anymore and I need to redo the unraid usb stick and copy my config again, I dont know why unraid is doing that) and the gpu is not working. But I set up everything on gen 3.0 x8 and everything is working fine, not ideal but for now until I find a new motherboard is fine. Thank you to everyone for all the support. Much appreciated.

I'm currently on 7.14 and I'm not exactly sure when it occurred, but my GTX1070 stopped working via the plugin. Only noticed it when I saw that it wasn't getting picked up on GPU Statistics and I haven't had any transcodes lately.

So far, I have reseated the GPU and confirmed that it is being detected in the BIOS and Tools -> System Devices.

I have un-installed and re-installed the nvidia-drivers plugin and tried various driver versions.

nvidia-smi gives a No Device Found error whilst the logs give a rm_init_adapter failed, device minor number 0 error.

Any ideas on other troubleshooting steps? Hoping I don't need to buy another GPU.

Try to change the pcie lanes. go for gen3 for example. See if fix the issue.

Can you please:

  • Update your BIOS to the latest version

  • Enable Above 4G Decoding in the BIOS

  • Enable Resizable BAR Support

  • Make sure to boot with UEFI and not in Legacy Mode

I have currently the same exact issue with my Quadro T400 -card that has been running fine for 3 years previously. I updated from 6.12.4 to 7.1.4 and notices this issue about a day after. Downgrading to Open Source Driver: v575.57.08 and rebooting will get the card detected for a couple of hours and it works fine transcoding etc, but at some point it drops again and is not detected anymore with the logs pingin the same rm_init_adapter failed, device minor number 0 error. Rebooting will once again get it up for some time.

Older supermicro Haswell Z97 motherboard. Bios is at its latest version (from 2015), it's in UEFI -mode, Above 4G Decoding is enabled, there is no Resizable BAR Support in this motherboard. PCIE is at Version 3.

Diagnostics attached.

It seems that your GSP times out which most of the times means some hardware incompatibility issue and may actually be a driver incompatibility issues.

I can't do much about that, you can try to report that on the Nvidia Developer forums over here.

However I'm not 100% sure if the folkos over there can help.

It seems that your GSP times out which most of the times means some hardware incompatibility issue and may actually be a driver incompatibility issues.

I can't do much about that, you can try to report that on the Nvidia Developer forums over here.

However I'm not 100% sure if the folkos over there can help.

Will do. Thanks for your time anyway. Checked the Nvidia forums, and it seems I'm not alone with this issue on drivers from 570.x onwards ->

Might do a downgrade of my Unraid USB from prior to updating and install older nvidia drivers for the time being.

Can you please:

  • Update your BIOS to the latest version

  • Enable Above 4G Decoding in the BIOS

  • Enable Resizable BAR Support

  • Make sure to boot with UEFI and not in Legacy Mode

I have updated the BIOS for my Z270E, last updated in 2018.
Enabled Above 4G Decoding and it is definitely booting in UEFI.

There's no Resizable BAR Support, but I was wondering whether its possible to install an older graphics driver via the plugin.

Hi, I’m currently using an RTX 5060 Ti.

When I try to use Latest / Production Branch / New Feature Branch, I get a message recommending that I use the Open Source Driver instead.
However, I noticed that the Open Source Driver version is lower than the other branches:

  • Latest: v580.76.05

  • Production Branch: v580.76.05

  • New Feature Branch: v575.64.05

  • Open Source Driver: v575.57.08

On GitHub, I can see that the Open Source Driver goes up to v580.76.05, but in Unraid it only shows v575.57.08.
Does this mean the Open Source Driver is no longer being updated for Unraid?

Thanks in advance for your clarification.
