  1. Any disk with a top level folder for a share IS participating in that share, regardless of the settings configured for that share. How that top level folder is created doesn't matter, if it exists it will add to the share calculation. Inclusion and exclusion, pool setting, etc only apply to new files written to the share. The only exception is if the disk is globally excluded from user shares. User shares are simply the combined view of root folders on all disks and pools.
  2. Depends on which PSU. Wattage is not an indicator of quality.
  3. Connect to the top level and set the appropriate subfolder inside of Macrium Reflect?
  4. You will probably want to change that cache setup. Unraid doesn't use cache in the traditional way, normally people have SSD's of 120GB or larger as cache pool, 16GB isn't going to be useful for anything with Unraid.
  5. Robocopy has caused issues in the past, but I haven't seen anybody complain about it for a few years. I wonder if there is a new issue with all the changes in SMB security recently.
  6. Did you read the recommended post at the top of every page of this thread?
  7. Try rebooting in maintenance mode and doing a file system check on that disk.
  8. Samsung's have a reputation of being picky about cables.
  9. What happens if you rename the folder in MC?
  10. But you used it until that time. Do you honestly expect to use it for free? And like I said, nothing prevents you from passing on your licensed USB stick. It will continue to function, it's not like Limetech disables anything. What I'm hearing from you is that you would rather pay a periodic fee like the vast majority of software instead of a single initial purchase. That way you wouldn't feel like you were losing anything if you decide to stop using Unraid.
  11. The shares will transfer with the drives, albeit without any customizations like user permissions and such. User shares are simply the root folders on all array data drives and cache pools. Just make sure you don't assign any drive with data you want to a parity slot. To be safe, I'd only assign data slots with the new config, and leave the parity slots empty for the first array start. You can add the parity drives later without doing another new config.
  12. Tools, diagnostics, download the zip file and attach it to your NEXT post in THIS thread.
  13. Docker service must be disabled for either method.
  14. Can you put the system back the way it was with a new config?
  15. Do you still have the removed drive intact?
  16. The section with this header? "Note: this section is for v5 users!"
  17. Can you post a link to the instructions you followed?
  18. Link? If you move from a disk folder to a user folder you risk data corruption.
  19. What folders and files were on the drive you removed?
  20. Only because the specific companies you were dealing with allowed it. Unraid has a very clear policy, and the work involved to change that policy in a way that protects both users and Limetech is not trivial. Since Limetech doesn't charge for upgrades, and licenses I got 10+ years ago are still valid, it's not fair to expect them to allow unlimited transfers for free. I'd like Limetech to make as much money as they need to for continued development. They set the prices and policies, and they've been extremely generous over the years. I think it's perfectly fair to expect new users to get a new license. There is nothing keeping you from allowing someone else to use your license if you so choose, with or without the accompanying hardware, but any relationship with Limetech stays with the original purchaser. If you wanted to, you could continue to provide paid support to your buyer on your own time and deal with Limetech on their behalf. Limetech doesn't keep people from charging independently for support of Unraid. As a matter of fact, initially you can purchase a license for the express purpose of reselling it, and assign the license to someone else. Once the license is assigned, it stays there permanently.
