  1. I'm having a similar issue to this.. although thankfully its not an error with an existing drive. I've added 3x4TB WD Reds they cleared just fine but now when I go to format the drives I get the error "Unmountable: Unsupported or no file system". My logs show an issue with invalid superblock number. At present the array is up and running just fine with no issues other than the 3 drives sitting there in that status. These 3 drives were part of the array a long time ago and were upgraded to bigger drives due to lack of drive bays but I since I added a JBOD I wanted to try add them back. Since they get fully wiped during the clear I doubt this is the issue? Is this likely a sign of a bigger issue? Included diagnostics. @JorgeB @itimpi Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also this is the first drives I've tried to add since the update to 6.12.x. I did have some difficulty following the update which appeared to be resolved before I tried this. server-diagnostics-20230624-2103.zip
  2. Is there a guide to do that on the command line anywhere? All the googling points me to manual "fresh" installs. Also if 6.12.1 doesn't resolve the issue I'm assuming the manual rollback is the same as a manual update? Just using the 6.11.5 files
  3. Attached... Sorry its a nightmare to physically get the usb out of the server due to the location. server-diagnostics-20230620-1525.zip
  4. I just updated and have been unable to access the server at all over the network. I have IPMI access to the command line and the server seems to boot correctly and I can log in through that no problem. The server is visible on the network and the correct IP is assigned to it but I cant access the GUI via web browser nor can I connect via SSH. Unraid Connect can see that the server is up but can not get any access to it. I was able to make a diagnostics file however due to where my server is its very inconvenient to access physically. Is there a way to view the file and just copy the contents to another file on my windows pc for upload? Or is there a way to downgrade via the command line so that I can get proper access again? I found the bellow post which seems to be a similar issue but it doesn't continue to resolution. Thanks in advance.
  5. I am having the exact same issue as Mantis describes here. I can access my server through my IPMI but cant access it in GUI mode this way... due to a weird issue with the fact I have an nvidia card installed as well, but thats another issue... I have a diagnostics done. My server is not easily accessible due to space limitations. So i'm just wondering whats the command to downgrade for now in order to get access to the diagnostics.... Or alternatively whats the command to view the file so i can copy paste the info into another file for sharing. cheers
  6. Just seen a video about this card. Its very interesting. Currently running a p4000 in my rig. I've my eye on an Intel a40 if they ever get released to the general public..... I would be interested in the new nvidia a2000 but I only have space for single slot cards. the cost is just a bit too steep for most for just a plex server(if they allowed AMD ofc).
  7. Having an issue with a couple of historical devices not removing. I made several changes to my server and had roughly 6 historical devices. 4 of which removed without issue. but 2 are acting as though they are removed successfully but they dont. Is there a command I can run to force remove them?
  8. nice find. I havent been having crashing issues but i have a sneaking suspicion i've an overheating issue. Drives reporting errors on large prolonged transfers.... particularly of many small files. Everything works perfectly other than those times... although I am yet to try a full parity check out of fear of making things worse!
  9. Think I'm starting to get an overheating issue with my 9300-16i. It runs absolutely fine under normal use but as soon as it starts to get hit hard at all I've started to get errors. Mover has caused it overnight... I found that the mover was still running more than 12 hours later on less than 500gb of data. I've ordered a 3000rpm fan that I'm going to put in above the card.. unfortunately I don't have space to mount it directly to the card. I'm kind of curious if I get a hba thats overkill.. say a 9500-16i.. I wonder if the hba will run at a lower temp?
  10. As blaine07 already said its an ownerr/ permissions issue. resettibg these to nobody and rw permissions solved my issue. Although I've had to do this everytime I update since first having the issue, which isnt ideal.
  11. Just wondering if anyone has tried to get crowdsec running with NPM? I'm just starting to look into it and seen that there is another container that has included the crowdsec bouncer. I'd rather try add this to my existing container if its possible?
  12. you can if you want to. xcase sell it with redundant power supplies installed if you want them.
  13. You're right its not. It was my own doing when I had a 3900x. the powersaving mode gave me 3.8Ghz which was more than enough on that CPU. But I had done it so long ago I completely forgot about it. Thanks for getting back to me.
  14. yea m8 you almost answered my issue. I always thought unraid was pre set to on demand performance governor scheduling and it just never dawned on me to check it. Went into the tips and tricks plugin and low and behold it was set to powersave. Changed to on demand solved my issue. Server is very nearly finished... a busted 9201-16e has slowed up my finalized setup. new one on the way and then its done! Really have felt the pain of trying to go the ebay route of obtaining hardware.... thankfully the really expensive stuff was all perfect
  15. ok i'm an idiot... I thought unraid defaulted the performance governor scaling... turns out it was set to powersaving... This solved my problem.
  16. Currently having a strange issue. My CPU EPYC 7402 is meant to have a base clock of 2.8Ghz and boost of 3.35Ghz (appears to be an idle clock of 1.5Ghz). When I first start my server and get into the unraid GUI, before starting the array everything works as expected. However as soon as I start the array my CPU gets pegged at the idle clock of 1.5GHz even the base clock of 2.8Ghz isn't achieved. Stopping the array does not result in the CPU returning to normal function however a restart will.... at least until I start the array again. I tested it using details given by JorgeB in the below post. I've included screenshots of the results of my tests. Im assuming its a command that gets run upon start of the array that I'm not aware of. I've tried searching but the thread i've already referenced is the closest I could find to my issue. EDIT Diagnostics Added server-diagnostics-20230319-1552.zip
  17. What kind of CPU frequencies do you see your CPU getting up to? I am having a weird situation where once the array is started my CPU is pegged at 1.5Ghz... I can see that before the array is started the CPU boosts to its rated 3.35... Just curious if this is just me?
  18. I went with 9300-16i in order to get the full bandwidth of the backplane. Like a fool I missed the fact that the H12SSL-i has no on board HBA and waisted time getting slimsas to microsas cables. I've had a lot of headaches with my setup. I have 2 9201-16e to connect to my JBOD... 1 of which now appears to be broken... Which is a pain but 1 still allows me to have 16 of the 24 bays populated. I also got some dodgy 8088 to 8088 wires which was another pain. At present I am about to fully deploy my server with 2 24bay 4u chassis. 1 of which is fully populated with array drives for ~170TB of storage. I've added 8x1 TB nvme drives to function as 4 separate cache pools. and I have 12 1TB SSD's in the Jbod at present which will be deployed in 2 raidz1 pools. I'm thinking I might wait for Unraid 6.12.0 to deploy these properly. Then I'll add 6 more array data drives as required and finally add an extra vdev of SSD's as required. My cpu will likely be upgraded at some point. In testing I think the lower clock speeds of the EPYC 7402 along with the 2666Mhz RAM are making the system feel slower in some tasks than the 3900x it replaced. But the benefits of the system far out weigh this minor issue. But I can see myself going for the 7443 as you both have to get the 4Ghz boost. I may look into a RAM upgrade if this doesnt have the desired results. But this is all long term thoughts. For now my server is perfect for my needs. Next on my list will be to look to get my shed setup to accommodate the server. Insulation and wiring still need to be done so that will be the next project.
  19. Sorry to annoy you... but is it possible that an incorrect SAS address would cause the issues I'm seeing with the 2nd card? It just dawned on me that considering the weird FW version it arrived with that the SAS address might have been inputted incorrectly. I've taken the card out of my server atm and i never thought to check it prior to removing it.
  20. Ok I have had a proper chance to get the testing done on all aspects of the install. Looking like the original 8088 cables I had were dodgy AF.... They seem to either have been bent far too severely in packing/shipping or they have less connections than a normal cable. As I could get 1 or 2 drives on a fully populated 4 drive sas backplane. New cables has fixed my issues completely..... well with 1 of the 9201-16e cards anyway. The one I highlighted above is still giving me issues. I have just tried to reflash the FW and BIOS... in the hope that if the original FW was dodgy that the BIOS was too. I might be left to lick my wounds on that card but 1 card will be more than enough for now. Thanks for your help Jorge
  21. I have 2 of these cards in my server in the hope of using them to connect to another 24bay chassis as a JBOD. I'm having some difficulty with them atm. None of the drives appeared for me in testing. Both are in IT mode and I just updated 1 of the cards from an old P9 FW to the latest P20 firmware that I found. This resulted in me being able to see some drives but not all. While making the FW updates I noticed that my newly updated card is on FW 20.00.07.00... the most recent I could find... while the other card has the FW 20.00.11.00. These cards were bought on ebay from China. Is it possible that this FW is not official FW and is causing issues? Attached listall
  22. I was just looking at the length of the cables since i got from 8088 to 8088 into a 8088 to 8087 adapter then 8087 to 8087 backplane... i think i may be on the very limit (1M) for distance for SATA drives... I wonder if this is possibly the reason 2 are showing up and not all 4? I have 2 SAS expanders from a previous build... I wonder if these could be used like repeaters? As I know SAS drives will work up to 10M.
  23. Yea I'm on a supermicro h12ssl-i. So I've plenty of pci lanes. I've got sff8088 to sff8088s connected to a sff8088 to sff8087 card then from their to a sas6gb backplane. I've noticed there are different types of sff8088 cables so I've new ones ordered just to rule it out.
  24. Did you ever solve this? I am having a similar issue with 2 of these cards atm. I have just added a 24bay chassis as a jbod and trying to use 2 of these cards to connect. As with your experience I am seeing a couple of drives show up when connected to the first port... But I have 4 drives plugged into it. No drives show up when attached to any other port. Very annoying and hard to trouble shoot
