I've noticed that most motherboards on the market these days are marketed as "Gaming", and one of the big changes I've seen over the years (I've been building PC's since the 1990's) is the lack of expansion slots. Specifically I see that most motherboards only have TWO PCIE-16. (anyone else remember PCI and ISA?) I'm curently running: ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R3.0 , Version Rev 1.xx AMD FX™-8350 Eight-Core @ 4000 MH 24 GB DDR3 with a 1070TI inside (to transcode for PLEX) 2 - LSI 9207-8i 6Gs SAS cards 2 Parity Drives 12 Disk Drives 3 Pool SSD Drives (Cache) (on exclusively holds AppData) Needless to say, it's been running for many years, and while I've been upgrading my personal PC, I have neglected the poor unraid server. I mostly just used it as a file server and a Plex Server, but I recently started hosting a Minecraft Server (AllTheMods9) for my son, and that 2012 CPU can't keep up when there are 3 or more people playing. I am seriusly considereing this board: Prime A620-PLUS WIFI6 AMD A620 AM5 ATX Motherboard, DDR5, PCIe 4.0, Dual M.2 Slots, WiFi 6, DisplayPort/HDMI™, Rear & Front USB 5Gbps Type-C®, SATA 6 Gbps, Two-Way AI Noise Cancelation, Aura Sync Obviously I don't care about the onboard video, or the sound. I need AT LEAST 3 PCIE-16x and this board has five. Unlike the board I am currently running, I can't find anything out about this board, and what kind of capacitors it uses. I want something that will last at least 5 years. I hear that future tarrifs may raise computer prices significantly, and this being Nov, it seems like now would be the best time to look for an upgrade. I can go with INTEL or AMD, I have owned many of each over the years, but I am hoping to keep the CPU/Motherboard/RAM under $400 if possible. Not concerned with power consuption as much as I am stability and longevity. IF anyone has any expeirnece with a AM5 board, or a good 12th/13th gen Intel I would love to read about your experinces. So you mean I shouldn't leave 20 tabs open to different apps I have on unraid? EEKS I've been doing that for years.

Thank you JorgeB for looking into this for me. I will swap out those cables as soon as possible. I'm thinking they may be the only devices on the motherboard's sata, but I wont know for sure until I open it up.

I turned on logging to the flash drive, but I don't know what I am looking for. This is rough, but ever since new years, my super stable server can't make it more than 2 or 3 days before it crashes again. The GUI is down, no SMB access, no remote access, and dockers with direct IP access (like Plex and Krusader) are down. When I connected a monitor to it, the screen has a command prompt. If sharing diagnostic files here would be helpful, please let me know which ones. I've attached a screen shot of what I found in the log folder

Unassigned device not showing up in network SMB (windows 11) It's not the new update, first off. Because I was having this problem and saw the new update and decided to install it, and it did not change anything. I have an external drive in the array, and I can see it just fine in Krusader, but it will not show up in my shares. I have tried accessing it via NETOWORK, and via the mapped hard drive and the root share I have setup (which shows everything. Originaly I had it setup to require a username/password like all my other shares, but I had it set to PUBLIC right now, because I just want it to show up. This feature used to work. I used it all the time (its for backup purposes) I've tied YES and NO for "specify the SMB version, thinking that may be the problem. Anyone had any ideas? I've been at it for an hour now so I figured I should break down and ask. Many thanks.

My router is setup to tunnel traffice from my server through a VPN based on mac address. But I have a Plex server, and I don't want it going through the vpn, so I used br0, and assigned it a unique IP address. I went down to extra parameters and put in this line: --mac-address 00:00:2e:78:fc:00 But when I try to launch the docker, I get the following error: docker: Error response from daemon: failed to create endpoint [APPNAME] on network br0: ipvlan interfaces do not support custom mac address assignment. I vaguely remember switching to ipvlan years ago, but I don't recall why. Is there no way I can set up my plex docker with a custom mac address?

2023 - Using unraid 6.11.5 - and this problem still persists in Chrome. I switched to EDGE and it allowed me to edit my pesky NVME that likes to hang out at 46C even with a small fan pointed on it.

I just replaced two 14tb parity drives with two 16tb. I did them both at the same time, feeling confident in my array as it's been rock solid for years. After parity was rebuilt, I cleared the two 14 TB drives that used to be the parity drives. That took a long time. I cleared the third 16TB in it's USB container. Afterward, I shucked it, and put it into the case, where unraid insisted on re-zeroing it. (probably saw it as a different drive, which makes sense) So I am sitting in my front room, watching Plex with the kids, and then BAM, my phone blows up with unraid notifications: the last 16TB drive just got done being cleared. The next message warns me that unraid has disk errors Turns out, Unraid has disabled disk 5 (8TB) and Disk 8 (10tb) It only claims to have had errors, so I can't understand why it has shut them down and is emulating them. I downloaded the log files first, then shut the server down so I could reseat the cables (I checked them all, since I have no idea which drive is which inside the case. I just know where they are by sizes, but the Rosewill case is very crowded with wires/cabling so it could be that I bumped or pulled another cable installing the last drive in the last spot in this case. The smart reports look good to me, but I'm no expert. I can't get unraid to reactivate the drives, and since it is two drives at the same time I am VERY concerned about data loss. I was in the middle of transferring everything off Drive 8 (it's been over 24 hours of moving data) and have it down to 4tb. Can I continue to move this off to one of the 14's while emulated? Is there any way to get them to spin up? I click the red X and it doesn't do anything, they remain emulated. I have shut down all the dockers except Krusader so I can move files off the drive. I hope someone can help, as this is nerve wracking!

Saved me countless hours!

I got it working for both TV & Movies. WHAT A GOD SEND So, here is what I did: 1) I had to change to BR0 in order to assign it a unique IP onto my server so that it could reach my plex library. 2) I edited the settings for the config (Yes, I had that error before) (I moved it on my appdata drive to folder cleanarr for my own preference, you don't have to) 3) For Libary Names I put MOVIES and did all the movies. 4) When I wanted to do the TV shows, and it didn't like spaces, I renamed "TV Shows" inside Plex to "TV" and put that variable into Cleanarr for Libary name, and then it worked. Thank you to the creator, and everyone in here for helping me piece it together.

In Windows, it is common knowledge that you shouldn't fill a hard drive more than 80% of its formated capacity because when you do, the performance of the drive is negatively impacted. I'm curious if anyone has experience with filling hard drives over 80% on unraid and if it impacts the performance in a similar way to windows formating. ( I did a search here before posting, but I didn't find anything using these specific keywords)

Just an updated. I decided to reboot unraid (I don't like rebooting the server, but it had been 6+ months) and it seems to be working fine now. Damnest thing.

MagRack seems to be dead now. Bummer, anything else I can use for PDF magazines?

Going to the drive, and not through the array share worked for me, too. I was curious if I could save myself the typing and just use Krusader if I went directly to the drive. Sure enough, worked like a charm, when nothing else could delete the fuse file from share. I love this place!

All of a sudden Sonarr is downloading unmonitored shows I've had this Sonarr setup for years, and all of a sudden it is just randomly downloading episodes of older shows. Some of the shows have no seasons monitored, but the show is still monitored for upcoming seasons, but some of the shows are ended, everything is unmonitored (seasons, episodes, and show itself). Is this from an update? Did something get corruped somehow in a database or something? I even went into the profile I call "normal" and turned off upgrading, so that it would not try to get a higher quality for any show, but it doesn't work. As I sit and delete the que, it just fills up with 9 pages of random episodes of shows I already have, and do not want to waste bandwidth re-downloading to for no reason. I had to shut it down until I can get this sorted.

No else has this problem? I have no idea how to troubleshoot this.

After an update (automatic) I can't get into my Next Cloud The screen I am presented with has a white box with "New password" in it, and the button below says "Reset password" Looks like the file syncing on my PC is working, but I can't seem to message my buddy using the talk app anymore either. I was really starting to get into NextCloud.

Quick Question: Can I disable the multiple desktops? My new Logitech mouse wheel triggers this feature constantly, and it moves a random amount each time, so I can't get back to 1.

Thank you for your reply. Boy, this is really scary. I was planning to move my server to a rack mount case in the future, but if I shutdown the machine, and move the hardware into a new case, would that mean I would have to connect each hard drive up to the same positions on the controllers? I am running 2 parity drives, and getting full, was considering going down to 1 parity drive until I found a good sale on a 10TB+ drive, but this had changed my mind. I'm always staying with 2 parity drives now. Just in case.

I was looking in my case to see if I have more room for another hard drive and I must have bumped the power from one of the cables. When I saw the error and the red X disabling disk 5, I inspected the tower, reattached the power that had fallen off (it was obvious) but it did not make the drive available. So I stopped the array, restarted it, and it was still red X'ed I rebooted (I don't really need log files since I know what happened) and the drive has not been automatically placed back into the array. With the array stopped, I can use the pull down to put the drive back into it's spot, but there is a warning to the right (in red) that says "All existing data on this device will be OVERWRITTEN when array is Started" Which sounds to me like it is going to rebuild that drive from parity, which will probably take a long time, and seems more risky than if it would just allow it to go back into place. Surely, this can't be the case, I mean, what if I had accidentally bumped three drives off, the array wouldn't even be able to be rebuilt. So how do I insert this drive back into the array, no data has been written or changed?

My VM manager under setting is set to "NO" But yes, I tried changing enable docker to "NO" when I left it overnight.
