[unRAID 6 beta14+] Unassigned Devices [former Auto Mount USB]

A new copy of Unassigned Devices Log has been uploaded: http://gfjardim.maxfiles.org/prj0gprw1/iqw9jp

Will  have to wait until I have new drives available for testing.

So no obvious stupid user errors?

I tried to format 2 of the 3 drives. The third one is ready now. Guess I'll have to fire up my old server to format them to XFS.

No. This is about parted and gpt partitions not being aligned.

tr0910, can you please update your plugin and test it again?

Can you update and try it again?

I had the drives in the other server and you already had it updated.  Now I formatted a 3tb in the old server.

Moved them back to the production server and formatted the third one there with your lastest version.  Thanks

Last question, did you see my comments earlier in this thread about Areca?  This is the only thing I have outstanding.

So you confirm format is working for >2TB drives, right?

I'll take a look into your Areca problem.

I'll get 3tb of data onto a drive and add it to the array and let you know.  That will tell us more.  (converting from rfs to xfs and the formatting was a pain prior to today)

Getting better and better, thanks for the awesome plugin and the even more awesome support.

Did you intend for all this to show when the plugin is updated to 2015.09.18b?  This also shows up in the Unassigned Devices tab of Main.

Quick question and sorry if it's already been asked.  Is it possible that a disc that is not part of the array can still contribute to a "user share?"  I would like to have my SSD drive be part of the Media share, but not part of the array.

No.  Only array drives and the cache drive can be part of a User Share.

What are you actually trying to achieve?    You could mount the USB drive inside the User Share (using the Unassigned Devices plugin if all you want is visibility of the drive contents through the User Share.

Updated.  That problem is fixed.

I am getting a lot of messages on my console:

blockdev: cannot open /dev/sr0: No medium found

sr0 is a DVD drive.

EDIT: Unassigned Devices also shows as wanting to format the DVD.

Thanks for reporting. Will take a look into it soon.

Am I correct that this plugin is now fully 6.0 compatible?

If so, can you please edit that on the first page where the download link is.

Thanks,

Russell

As the subject of the thread says, it works on any version from 6beta14 to what is current as of this post, 6.1.2. It's in the 6.1 verified subforum. What other notation are you wanting? Either it's already been changed, or I don't see what you are talking about.

So you confirm format is working for >2TB drives, right?

I'll get 3tb of data onto a drive and add it to the array and let you know.  That will tell us more.  (converting from rfs to xfs and the formatting was a pain prior to today)

I'm converting the last 2 drives from RFS to XFS.  Precleared 2 disks and using the newly available format command in unassigned devices, I made them XFS.  I now had 2 3tb drives formatted XFS with Unassigned Devices and I rsynced data onto them filling them up without issue.  Now I just needed to get them into the array and pull the RFS disks out.

I then swapped them with the 2 RFS drives that were in the array and restarted the array with these 2 new drives.

Now unRaid complains about these 2 being unmountable disks.  Unassigned devices works with them fine, but they aren't quite kosher for unRaid array devices.  Some minor format difference??
