superloopy1
Hi ... have just gone to rc4 and notice that from cold my drives are showing as 27degrees?? Surely thats not right. Ladt evening i thought that 40degrees was far too high given that the normally run at 29-30degrees. Is there a known problem here? Link to comment
trurl
I have not experienced any problem with this. It's unclear what you are asking. Are your drives colder than expected or hotter than expected? Link to comment
BRiT
What do you have the poll tunables set to? Link to comment
superloopy1
My drives are showing hotter. Poll tunables? No idea ... what are they, where are they? By my answer you can assume they are as they come with rc4. Link to comment
superloopy1
Have you checked your fans? All as was before upgrading to rc4. What are these poll tunables mentioned and wht would these possibly be an issue? Link to comment
lars
have to say, after running rc4 over rc3 now for about 2 1/2 days, the average gui displayed hdd temp is about 3-5°C hotter than before upgrade. still not getting alarming, but considering nothing else changed it is kinda strange. cheers, L Link to comment

See here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=40368.msg380848#msg380848 AFAIK there are no disk related differences between rc3 and rc4. Maybe your ambient conditions have changed? Kode
Maybe try dropping back to RC3 and see if it really does make a difference, or as bonienl suggests, it's just that the ambient temperature has increased. Link to comment
enetec
I don't want to open a new topic only for askin' this one... So... Is there a way to customize high temperatures warning levels? Link to comment
itimpi
I don't want to open a new topic only for askin' this one... So... Is there a way to customize high temperatures warning levels? Yes - under Settings->Display Settings. May not be the obvious place to look - I feel notifications would be more intuitive but I suspect that it is under Display Settings as that was where it was put before the notifications settings option was available.
