saarg
Hello guys. Im trying to set the http_url argument for this docker, i have tried and edit /var/run/s6/services/tvheadend/run and adding the following argument --http_root /tv But everytime i restart the container the run file is reset back to default. Is there any way that i can modify this without it resetting That's because you edit the wrong file. The one to edit is /etc/services.d/tvheadend/run. That should stick until you update. There might come an option to set this as an variable some time in the future. Quote Link to comment

alturismo
just as small update here with DVB-C adapter, found another small USB adapter and its working fine, so looks like a driver issue with my twin tuners card, may a hint where to ask about this issue ? using LibreELEC DVB Edition as described before. and may someone here knows howto get this TVH version running behind apache reverse proxy, seems there has been changes from 4.09 to here, i guess the HTTP CORS Origin: could be helpful ? ... thanks ahead for an tip. Dvb driver issues should go in chbmbs thread for the unraid dvb build, but if its a driver problem, he can't really fix it unless its a misdin firmware file or similar. He is not the developer of the drivers. For reverse proxy you should look at the post above yours. Quote Link to comment
alturismo
thanks for the info, i didnt recognize if thats the point to get it running behind a proxy, the file /etc/services.d/tvheadend/run is inside the docker ? so i have to run the docker and then "docker exec ..." ? root@AlsServer:~# cd /etc root@AlsServer:/etc# cd /services.d -bash: cd: /services.d: No such file or directory root@AlsServer:/etc# docker exec -ti apache bash root@AlsServer:/# cd /etc/services.d bash: cd: /etc/services.d: No such file or directory root@AlsServer:/# thanks ahead Quote Link to comment

s.Oliver
hey guys. sorry, i need help. totally crashed here, can't think straight anymore. wanted to move my tvheadend-solution from an old pc-box running 6.1.9 to my newer server-box with 6.2.4. that includes a usb-card reader & tbs card dvb-c. the devices are recognized on 6.2.4, the unRAID DVB-Edition does report all detected right, but: a) oscam can't initialize the usb-device; despite passthrough and recognizing the correct usb-device b) tvheadend doesn't recognize the tuner card when the setup assistant is run (i tried both TBS driver packs official & open source) everything which came to mind i tried, but know i'm left empty handed here. guess i need a coffee first, i'll come back later. maybe someone has an idea...? thx. s.Oliver
hey CHBMB! thx. for the hint – i was in "Basic View" (didn't look at that corner space) and it didn't show the (known from v6.1.9) field "Extra Parameters", so i thought, ok, define a device… it seems to be alright now, i can see my tuners now. another question to this: i read awhile ago, that in the future, or at least starting from unRAID built 6.3 onwards. just the open source drivers are supported; is that so? and thanks! s.Oliver
How did you pass through the reader? solved – it was the same misconfiguration as with tvh. the basic view of the docker setup didn't provide/show the extra parameters field. i had set it up manually, but that didn't work. now with advanced view ticked, i could enter the data into that field and it starts up correctly. BUT: back to tvh – all seems to work fine, except that i can't record anything. i never ever see the button to click for record. i provided the default mapped path to several different shares, even an unassigned devices one. it simply doesn't matter, i can't record. but why? jevans04
BUT: back to tvh – all seems to work fine, except that i can't record anything. i never ever see the button to click for record. i provided the default mapped path to several different shares, even an unassigned devices one. it simply doesn't matter, i can't record. but why? Are you logged into Tvheadend with a user that has permission to record? Quote Link to comment
CHBMB
hey CHBMB! thx. for the hint – i was in "Basic View" (didn't look at that corner space) and it didn't show the (known from v6.1.9) field "Extra Parameters", so i thought, ok, define a device… it seems to be alright now, i can see my tuners now. another question to this: i read awhile ago, that in the future, or at least starting from unRAID built 6.3 onwards. just the open source drivers are supported; is that so? and thanks! I'm not sure at the moment, what to do, I'd encourage everyone to try the opensource drivers and if they work, stick with them, as that's where TBS are concentrating their development. Closed source now as far as I can tell are just getting fixes when kernel upgrades break them. I've heard the dev for the closed source left the company. Quote Link to comment

Yeah, I know what you mean. I just skip the wizard and then you can do it manually outside of the wizard. It's because TVH only allows 5/6 tuners in the wizard and the way the OS TBS drivers present the cards screws it up. Quote Link to comment

SOLVED! well, couldn't get it running with new installs, then tonight copied my appdata from the old install (6.1.9er unRAID) and thought: hurray, the recording button is back! but, it didn't record and i saw errors with unix permissions for directories (it tried to set the internal /recordings to 775 and couldn't). changed them accordingly and now it runs as it should. eProDarkAngel
Hi guys having a bit of trouble setting up the EPG I have run the command docker exec -it -u abc tvheadend /usr/bin/tv_grab_uk_tvguide --configure and followed the on screen directions in a telnet shell. However when I run the re-run internal grabbers command from within the Web ui I get this error and no EPG data. 2017-01-23 21:58:23.000 xmltv: /usr/bin/tv_grab_uk_tvguide: grab /usr/bin/tv_grab_uk_tvguide 2017-01-23 21:58:23.001 spawn: Executing "/usr/bin/tv_grab_uk_tvguide" 2017-01-23 21:58:23.209 spawn: XMLTV::Supplement: Failed to read from /config/.xmltv/supplement/tv_grab_uk_tvguide/tv_grab_uk_tvguide.map.conf. 2017-01-23 21:58:23.213 xmltv: /usr/bin/tv_grab_uk_tvguide: no output detected 2017-01-23 21:58:23.213 xmltv: /usr/bin/tv_grab_uk_tvguide: grab returned no data Quote Link to comment

Sounds like tvheadend doesn't get any data. Are you sure you configured it correctly? What is the output of ls - la in the folder of the map file? Quote Link to comment
