November 5, 20241 yr I may have asked this somewhere before, but could not find it in this thread. Is there any reason why this container stops for like 20-30min on Quote [INF] [1] Jellyfin.Networking.Manager.NetworkManager: Filtered subnets: [] during startup? I have tried different jellyfin containers and it seems to only happen with this one. Why do I keep using this one? Because its the one I have had less problems with
December 18, 20241 yr How can I update the binhex container to 10.10.3 ? update in the unraid container leads to uninstallation of the container. TV app and firetv stick need jellyfin 10.10.3 thanks

December 20, 20241 yr The docker was always deleted when searching for and installing updates. I deleted the docker completely and reinstalled it. Seems to be up to date now. Now I can no longer log in for it. Jellyfin starts my server but shows me “We are currently unable to connect to the selected server. Please make sure it is running and try again.” Forgotten password does not work “Reset password in network” no idea how ?! Edited December 20, 20241 yr by Benco
December 30, 20241 yr Hi, I am using your Jellyfin container on an Unraid server that runs v7.0.0-rc2. The other day, I tried to activate Tailscale inside that container, as I had done with a few others. Unfortunately, with your container, that did not work. I opened a ticket with Unraid support that ended in a thread here on the forum. The gist of what I got from the ticket and the thread was, that the activation of Tailscale within your Jellyfin container did not succeed because of the tool 'which' missing from your container. Would it be possible for you to update your container with said tool included? Edited December 30, 20241 yr by linuxdevil addition

December 31, 20241 yr Works as expected now. Thanks for updating the container in such a timely manner. I think, making containers available in a Tailnet is a great idea and will continue to further Unraid fame. I am a tech journalist. I have covered Unraid before and will write an article for a German Linux print magazine on Tailscale in Unraid.
January 12, 20251 yr Anyone here tried to setup "jellysearch" with Jellyfin? I think I have setup everything right but I get the error "SQLite Error 14: 'unable to open database file'." Edit: Got it to work Had to set the path to "/appdata/binhex-jellyfin/data/" Edited January 13, 20251 yr by isvein solution
January 21, 20251 yr I’m troubleshooting why Jellyfin stopped working and came across similar issues with Quick Sync Video (QSV). Hoping this helps someone or maybe someone can help me. Jellyfin was working fine but started showing errors. The logs include: [AVHWDeviceContext @ 0x555eb74ecbc0] Failed to get number of OpenCL platforms: -1001. Device creation failed: -19. Failed to set value 'opencl=ocl@va' for option 'init_hw_device': No such device Error parsing global options: No such device This seems related to the OpenCL runtime. After some digging, I found intel-compute-runtime supports Gen12, but my GPU (UHD Graphics P630, Gen9.5) isn’t compatible. Installing intel-compute-runtime-legacy from the AUR improved things slightly, but performance is worse than before. It seems some API/SDK/driver doesn’t fully support my hardware, especially for tone mapping (that's why it used openCL). Compiling intel-compute-runtime-legacy (and dependencies) took ages on my Unraid server (4 cores, -j 4) and used a lot of Docker volume space. I’ll check the Jellyfin forums but wanted to share here in case it’s related to Arch's cutting-edge packages. Edited January 21, 20251 yr by bpie

I am trying to enable JellyFin/Plex hardware transcoding on my new Unraid 7.0.0 server, but get the same exact error. My CPU is Intel N5105 so with iGPU onboard. Installed both plugins "Intel GPU TOP" and "GPU Statistics". They list the device, but always with zero utilization. I also tried the i915 modprobe commands, but after a reboot these files are gone .. I suspect this method is deprecated but am not sure. There are many explanations online on how this should be configured, sporting various contradicting instructions since 2018. I suspect a lot has changed, and I wonder what todays "normal" route to enabling HW transcoding is.
February 7, 20251 yr Hi Binhex, fantastic job on this Docker image! I have a question: How can I change the favicon and title of Jellyfin? I googled it and found this: https://github.com/BobHasNoSoul/jellyfin-mods. I tried to follow "Method 1" and looked in `\\MINIMAX\appdata\binhex-jellyfin`, but I can't find the .html file. Additionally, I can't figure out where to place the `title.sh` as suggested in "Method 2 (The old way)." Edit 1: Eventually I found this guide and modified it a bit: https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/1eyh84b/comment/ljd674a/ From the "Docker" Tab, I opened the console in the container by clicking on the Jellyfin icon cd /usr/share/jellyfin/web touch title.sh nano title.sh added to the title.sh file: grep -rl 'document\.title="Jellyfin"' . | while read -r file; do sed -i 's/document\.title="Jellyfin"/document\.title="TITLE"/g' "$file" done grep -rl 'document.title=e||"Jellyfin"' . | while IFS= read -r file; do sed -i 's/document.title=e||"Jellyfin"/document.title=e||"TITLE"/g' "$file" done chmod +x title.sh ./title.sh Restart container Cleared the cache of the browser Jellyfin title is now replaced with `Title` This approach seems to work, but it's a bit janky as the `Jellyfin` title still appears on load and only after a split second is replaced, does anyone have any suggestions? Edit 2: I managed to get `Method 1` to work, and I was able to append the custom script to the `index.html` using Nano. It turns out I need to learn to use Nano when I want to edit files directly in the container. Was it worth it? Eh, kinda, I was hoping for this to be a 2min job not more Have I learned something new? Absolutelly Edited February 7, 20251 yr by MassimoMx Added info about my solution, which is not great

I'm not an expert but it looks like you have Gen 11 intel GPU and this image has intel-compute-runtime (openCL runtime for intel) installed which supports Gen 12 and up. openCL is used for some operations which are not supported by eg. QSV in this example. You need to install intel-compute-runtime-legacy from AUR. Dunno if there is binary version, when i installed it i had to install some additional packages to speed up (I installed `paru` to install from AUR because this is what I use on my main system) and than I could install the legacy version of runtime, but its not binary and compilation took a lot of time and space (needed to increase docker disk size twice xD). I did this mainly to understand what is going on. Doing this every update is not the way to go. But I have no better advice so there is that. I had no more time to play with this. I'll post if I find a better way Side note: with intel-compute-runtime-legacy now jellyfin works ok for me. I have troubles on chrome, transcoding is 2x slower than on firefox (dunno why). Side note 2: Intel is dropping support for MediaSDK on linux and new sdk (don't remember the name) will support only newer GPUs so probably there will be even more troubles ahead sadly. Especially since intel thinks 4yo GPU is old... Edit: there is a intel-compute-runtime-legacy-bin package in AUR, dunno how i missed it. So I can share how to do that. It is not script ready, there will be a need for entering password (pass) or accepting (y<enter> or just enter if there is 'yes/y' starts from big letter which means it is default) commands to do (one by one) in binhex-jellyfin container's shell, DO AT YOUR OWN RISK # root pacman -S --noconfirm git pacman -S --noconfirm --needed base-devel useradd -m -s /bin/bash newuser usermod -aG wheel newuser echo '%wheel ALL=(ALL) ALL' >> /etc/sudoers echo 'pass' | passwd newuser --stdin su - newuser # newuser git config --global user.name "Your Name" git config --global user.email [email protected] cd /tmp git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/paru.git cd paru makepkg -si # MAKEFLAGS="-j 4" paru -S intel-compute-runtime-legacy # for compiled version paru -S intel-compute-runtime-legacy-bin notes: - legacy version of the package is not available in arch repositories (binhex containers are arch based) but we can install it from AUR. AUR CAN BE DANGEROUS, especially when package is not inspected properly by you. Especially bin versions. So do it at your own risk. - I use paru (to install from AUR) because I know it and it's fast. But it is not suited for scripts. - there is also (commented out) installation of compiled version. But it took many hours on my 4-core cpu. - those steps need to be run AFTER EVERY binhex-jellyfin UPDATE! One could try to make it work in cron on unraid (copy script to container and than run the script in container) but I do not know how to make paru work in a script. - I do not update repositories on purpose. If some URLs do not work while installing something (git or runtime package) update could be needed (`pacman -Syy` or `paru -Syy` probably will fix this,) Edited February 14, 20251 yr by bpie
May 24, 20251 yr spent my day figuring this out.. Why doesn't the Library Name displayed on the Thumbnail? I tried switching diffrent themes already which have this library name on the thumbnail.ImgBBScreenshot-2025-05-24-151838 hosted at ImgBBImage Screenshot-2025-05-24-151838 in Bloom Stream's images album
May 29, 20251 yr Does anyone know if the binhex template is compatible with the official or linuxserver images? I'm been having a few issues since migrating to jellyfin from Plex recently and was told a couple of them would be resolved in the next release so I'd like to give the nightly a try.
July 22, 2025Jul 22 I am new user to Jellyfin, I have set up the server app and installed media player in a client PC.I am finding both the server app and the media player very slow to populate the main page, sometimes taking 5 mins. I have also seen CPU usage spike to 100% whilst this happens. This is after the media libraries have been 100% populated. Is this related to lack to server resources, I am running Intel® Xeon® CPU E3-1230 V2 @ 3.30GHz and 16GB RAM?However I am able to view most of my media inc 4K films without transcoding.
August 12, 2025Aug 12 Issue with Path: /data/tvshowsHelp text says Container Path: /data/tvshowsContainer Path: /data/tvshowsMedia goes here. Add as many as needed e.g. '/data/movies' , '/mnt/data/tv'If I enter /mnt/disks/My_Passport/TV/ It loads the TV library from that and works fineand if I enter /mnt/user/TV/it works fine from the TV sharebut if I enter /mnt/disks/My_Passport/TV/ , /mnt/user/TV/The container starts but /data/tvshows/ is empty when it starts, and if I format it with the delimiter character show in the help text (i.e.)' /mnt/disks/My_Passport/TV/' , '/mnt/user/TV/'The container fails to start with an error message about illegal characters (specifically ' )What am I doing wrong?I'm grateful for any helpBruce
August 13, 2025Aug 13 I found a work around. I think the help text is wrong, I created another folder /data/tvshows2 and added that to the library
September 19, 2025Sep 19 Sorry if this has been covered but how do you enable GPU (Nvidia 1060) support?I have tried everything and the player crashes if transcoding is enabled.I have: NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES= allNVIDIA_DRIVER_CAPABILITIES=allExtra Parameters:I have tried:-e NVIDIA_DRIVER_CAPABILITIES=all -e NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES=all --gpus all--gpus all --runtime=nvidia--runtime=nvidia--gpus allI'm running out of ideas. I have tried all three images. Currently running the official image.Found the problem... It turns out that this particular model does not support HEVC. Another card worked.
