Kernels?

Basically the driver is installed on every reboot and if you set the prefered driver version to latest then it will also check if there is a newer version available and download it on boot, so the boot can take a little longer. But it shouldn't take too long since the package for the Nvidia Driver is about 130MB in size, if there is no newer version available then it will simply install the driver and continue boot, will take about 20seconds...

I need the info from the troubleshooting section in the first post of this thread. The first picture is helpful but it really depends on what you’re getting from the main PHP routine. That’s the one where you run gpustatus.php manually in the console. My guess is it’s reaching an error.

I changed the Vendor from Nvidia, to change me, and back to Nvidia and its working now

Can you try to start a transcode and see if you got the same messages, I think Nvidia eventually changed something in the newer drivers that this warning is displayed in the system log...

It stops filling the log when a transcode is in progress & when the transcode is done it starts filling the log again.

Ok, then this is completely related to nvidia-smi

You should also see this behavior if you for example got to the Nvidia-Driver Plugin to see your UUID, but you will only see one message appearing because I only query nvidia-smi when the page is loaded/reloaded.

All we're doing is running a utility that comes with a driver.  The error you're getting is a kernel mode error and we have no control over that at the layer that we're developing these plugins.  You can try my recommendations in this post but there's no guarantees it will fix.  Specifically I would try to update your BIOS/UEFI firmware and hope for the best.

 

What's the approach to add more app icons to this plugin? My Unraid box has both Shinobi and t-rex miner dockers utilizing my GPU - GPU stats plugin obviously shows there are two apps using it, however there isn't a little icon like we have for Plex transcoding.

 

Would be great to get a list together of the popular apps that use the GPU and get icons for them into the plugin?

So 1 small nag (maybe a feature request) and an actual enhancement request:

Transcoding using handbrake NVENC, but the icon not showing in the UI. From an at-a-glance standpoint, would be nice to have that included.

The other "issue" I have is my GPU name is stupid long "Nvidia TITAN Xp COLLECTORS EDITION" - is there a way to make that editable so the characters don't overwrite/overlap each other?

Adding them is pretty simple.  Little bit of code work, but in order to do it I need two to get two things:

A square image (e.g. 512x512 pixel) of the application and I need the exact process name that nvidia-smi shows when the app is using the GPU.  Not all apps have specific processes.  Some of them just run ffmpeg for example and they can't be distinguished from other apps.  I can't do anything about those.  Plex is easy because the process that runs is called 'Plex Transcoder' and that's what nvidia-smi shows for example.

 

Best way to get these added is to open an enhancement request.  Feel free to open as many as you like on the plugin Github repository issue page.

That is a funny problem to have.  I think most cards are identifiable within three words.  I can probably manipulate it so that if it exceeds a certain length to only take the first three words or something like that.  File an issue on Github so I can remember to include in the next release.

AMD GPU Support Released along with some requested fixes.  Update should hit Community Apps shortly.  Remember to install the RadeonTop plugin from @ich777 before this plugin for AMD support.

Ah, yeah.  I see the problem.  I had a parenthesis misplaced.  I'll push a fix later today after any other issues are identified.

Question. I have a Ryzen 5 3400G APU and I've installed the GPU Stats and Radeon TOP plugins (Radeon TOP installed first) - I can see some activity when in the CLI and running radeontop but there is no activity on the dashboard. Am I missing a step or is this due to the APU?

I'm guessing you weren't able to select the APU device in the Settings page.  It's because the regex I'm using to capture the inventory doesn't expect non-numeric characters in the Bus ID (yours is 0a).  I will add this to my fixlist and release an interim update shortly.
