I get that waiting can be bad in some circumstances. For TV Shows or Movies, it's not that bad, since the individual playtime is long. For music though, I find it problematic too. But rather than keeping my drives UP, I moved my music library to a Pool using SSDs.

I am not sure how it would work. If the OS or an app needs data from a drive that it down, it will spin it up. What happens in a model where the up/down cycle is handle by a cronjob ? The app does not have the right to spin up the drives and complains that the files are not found ? And what happen to the drives during a phase where the cron decides that it is ON time ? They cannot spin down ? For me the way it works now offer the longest possible OFF time. But you need to setup your apps or other cronjobs so that they don't spin up the drives without a reason.

This should absolutely not be part of base Unraid as it is very specific to one type of user. This is exactly the usecase for a plugin or a docker that you can install if you want. If Limetech was to add in base Unraid everything that some people can use, maybe once in a while or never, we will end up with a 5 GB OS. It would take ages to load and people would rightfully complain that it eats all their RAM.

Well, it's for Unraid V5 and older. So probably 5 to 10 years old. Not that surprising that it is not working great in 2025.

This is probably related to Unassigned Devices, not base Unraid. But you should be able to hide those with a toggle :

Maybe the automount toggle ? I can see a though process where having it disabled prevent its integration in docker paths. But I tried to deactivate it and still see the share in Docker paths. Maybe some setting of the plugin rather than the mounted remote share ? Here is the section I think would apply on my system : But I think you have more chance to receive good information in the plugin support page.

It is possible to add a remote path. When adding a path, on the host path, click on the ".." to go one step up in the tree and select "remotes"

Splitter are always a first thing to check, but did you try to change the SATA cables ?

It probably needs some airflow over its radiator, like every passive cooler. Depending on your case/fans setup, it might be fine or require a specific fan.

Because other people have a different use case a like to see different dashboard element on different devices and because different devices don't have the same screen size.
