  1. Confirmed the softlink alone doesn't work. Have to remove plugin and then reinstall plugin and adjust any settings to get mover working after reboot.
  2. This is really great. Was looking for a way to keep certain *arrs from running wild and downloading too many very high quality linux ISO downloads daily. Was trying to do this in sabnzbd as it isn't native in most of the *arr apps. This might be the ticket. Thanks
  3. Ordered two of the pictured units to test. These are found on eBay/Aliexpress. Blue PCB Brass/Gold colored hardware features Can confirm that the units pictured do contain ASPM1153e chip. They do not contain unique GUID/UUID. Creation tool fails outright. Default ID is full of zeros. THE FOLLOWING UNITS DO NOT CONTAIN A UNIQUE IDENTIFIER. THEY DO NOT MEET CURRENT REQUIREMENTS. THEY ARE REJECTED BY MEDIA CREATION TOOL.
  4. To clarify, tested on Windows 11 Pro Hosts and VM Guests. Virtualization is not a requirement to reproduce. Tried Firefox, Chrome and Edge. All give the same result of the borders missing when I use Unraid Gui and run corefreq-cli from the Unraid Gui Terminal window. Doesn't happen if I use MobaXterm and ssh in.
  5. Came here for this for VMs. Will knock about with it this weekend. Thanks.
  6. Appreciate all of the effort provided by the devs to improve this script and your consideration for multiple firmware versions. It seems I have to reinstall and reconfigure the Mover Tuning plugin after boot with 6.12.8 in order for it to work. A minor inconvenience and worth it to get the full power of Mover Tuning. If the soft link is the only issue, was thinking of putting a section of your post-install script in 'User Scripts" at 'Startup of Array'. Does this seem a reasonable temporary workaround? #!/bin/bash echo "The 'post-install' script" echo "Backup current mover binary, command may fail depending on version of unRAID" echo "" echo "Creating Soft link for 6.12 RC8 or newer since /usr/local/sbin/move is now lcoated in /usr/local/bin/move" if [[ ! -e /usr/local/sbin/move ]]; then ln -s /usr/local/bin/move /usr/local/sbin/move; fi echo "Done"
  7. Interesting. Those were taking from a host RDP'd into a VM. Was thinking maybe PEBKAC on my part. So, I've attached another with the Kernal window this time. Straight from the Unraid GUI Window Terminal. Windows Snipping Tool. Tried it from Firefox and Chrome. I don't see those nice royal blue boxes like in your pic again. I tried from a few different windows system thinking maybe it was a dark mode or a browser addon. Tried on a new / fresh system and no royal blue outline still. Even tried Microsoft Edge lol. No borders. Running 6.12.8 and the plugin is installed and up to date. Second pic, with the boxes/borders is through Mobaxterm window... Boxes are there.
  8. State of the art, highly sensitive measurement tool: aka $8 KASA / TAPO Energy Plug Seems to update every second or two. Whole power consumed was measured after initial boot and all docker, VMs and HDDs were up. Tried Stock settings, AMD/Perf, AMD/Schedutil, tried all the scaling governors. All were about the same until following your process for making corefreq_tsc the clock source and properly registering all. No real stress tests other than I was working and doing too many things at once, as usual. - Drives are set to spin down on their own (Standby set to 15min). - I use the Folder Caching plugin to help keep the drives in standby. - I prevent Disk Location plugin from running Smart Queries hourly. Daily is fine. If a drive dies, it dies. No need to wake it up and ask it if it is dieing. Not saying it is but that plugin has been a little goofy lately. Love it though! - Mover Tuning plugin, with moves to array based on fullness and file age, helps keep HDDs in standby for non critical data that can easily be rebuilt. The tweaking comes in waves. It's nice sometimes to see the uptime counter hit 30 or 60 days. This isn't one of those weeks. Having too much fun right now goofing around with it. I'm prepping to consolidate another system and add its drives.

  10. Excelent advice here. Also try to use passive DACs for your short connections as it will result in significant power and heat savings.
  11. I have a pair of mSata adapters, sitting at customs right now, that also allegedly has GUID. Different board manufacturer, pcb not the same as the ones you've showed here. Has the ASM1153E Chip. Will share URL if it works out. *Already downloaded your thingiverse files. Thank you for sharing. Hoping they might fit. Clean work with an Ender 3 @Miss_Sissy
  12. And no, if you keep logging errors or having a problem, you only will need to replace the single drive that is failing.
  13. Shut down dockers and vms and 'stop' the array. Click on the disk and Run Extended Smart. Smart is a great tool but won't catch every possible drive failure scenario, even extended. Since you have already stopped the array, might as well take her all the way down and reseat the cables. Shut down and remove power. Reseat: HDD if using a backplane Power cables Data cables Reseat the HBA in the PCI slot if you have one
  14. Jorge is on target. Working as designed. The 1TB Blue 570 has a pretty small static cache, then performance drops off a cliff. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/wd-blue-sn570-review/2. Your testing seems to concur with the testing from Tom's.
  15. Sab wrench tests are meh. You arent going to get lab theoretical performance using sab wrench test behind an unraid docker. Try directly copying some files between your nvme drives using the unraid gui and observe performance. Don't use SMB as it adds overhead.
  16. Boom. Working as designed. I set a trim to run weekly or monthly on my heavy hitter NVMEs. Set to run after mover has had time time to execute. Use the Scheduler app. My download nvme take the most abuse and files aren't actually deleted from the storage cells when mover runs. They are only marked for deletion. Trim forces those marked cells available again. If your nvme workload is more static, you can set it to run less often.
  17. Have you run a trim on them lately?
  18. Really excited to try this out. Been having problems with getting mover tuning to run 12.6 or 12.8. Only standard mover seems to be triggering when forced from a share. I will take some time to try the script for sure. Love the idea of moving some data from the performance tier to the capacity tier based on age. Brilliant.
  19. Going down the rabbit hole today with a manufacturer recertified Seagate Exos X22 ST20000NM004E from serverpartdeals. Unraid 6.12.8. LSI 9211-8i running P20. Threw errors minutes after Parity build completed. Suspecting EPC / power controls etc. Appreciate the details shared by all in the thread. Update: Was not able to disable using the standard seachest utilities. Others have mentioned similar issues. Maybe removed ? Was however able to use OpenSeaChest utilities in Windows to disable EPC on this specific drive. https://github.com/Seagate/openSeaChest/releases . v23.12 on Win64. Pulled the drive out of unraid just to work on it standalone in a different system. Decided to try Windows 11 for fun. Not everybody is an expert Linux Sysadmin so here are some screenshots to try and disable EPC on Seagate EXOS in Windows 10/11. Download and unzip the contents of openSeaChest for windows. Move the unzipped file folder somewhere easy for you to manuever from command line. I moved my folder to the c:\ drive. I renamed the folder c:\openSeaChest. Open a windows command prompt terminal as admin and Change Directory to the file folder location of your openSeaChest executables. Inside you will find all of the application tools. 20. Works great on 6.12.6. Thanks Dev.
  21. Updating isn't difficult. You can do it through a flash boot disk with something like ventoy or run it from unraid. Some shared instructions in a Reddit post: Search /r/unraid for Update Samsung SSD Firmware
