  1. Is it important to boot as "EFI" from the new Z490 plattform???
  2. I am using a 860 PRO as Cache-SSD on an internal Intel-SATA Port since 06.2018 - no issues with the SSD. Avoid SATA-Ports other then Intel for this SSD.
  3. One request: Leave the license model as is... Linking the license to the hardware of the machine would be more than just an "iceberg problem" - that would be more of a volcano... The GUID model is not optimal, but it is still easier to use than anything else. My little Lexar USB stick has been working since 11.2012 and is still working (tap on wood)... ๐Ÿ˜‰
  4. FYI: v6.8.3 is running now for 77 days 8 hours 40 minutes without any problem - well done limetech ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
  5. What is the 1TB Apps SSD for? Normaly, all what you install is placed on the Cache-SSD...
  6. It is an EFRX with 64MB cache but the disk behaves really strange. When it goes to sleep, it makes a scratchy sound. Then suddenly I got artifacts in movies and TV series and yesterday I had stutter and sound interruptions. But the SMART values look good... maybe a "mechanical defect"...
  7. Is this for sure? My newest 4TB WD-RED (6 months old) is doing weird things...
  8. Statement from WD: All our WD Red drives are designed meet or exceed the performance requirements and specifications for common small business/home NAS workloads. We work closely with major NAS providers to ensure WD Red HDDs (and SSDs) at all capacities have broad compatibility with host systems. Currently, Western Digitalโ€™s WD Red 2TB-6TB drives are device-managed SMR (DMSMR). WD Red 8TB-14TB are CMR-based. https://www.computerbase.de/2020-04/wd-red-festplatten-smr-ohne-kennzeichnung/ What the hell... ๐Ÿ˜ก
  9. Using Win 10 Pro 1909 and all is working fine. What i did, was different. On unraid under "Settings", "SMB", "SMB-Extras", "Samba extra configuration:" i implemented the following: min protocol = SMB2 Can access my unraid-shares from every Win10 Comp on the network.
  10. Thats the point... i cant switch SATAs because of the position of the SATAs on the board, the length of the cables and the size of my Case... I have no choice... i need a SSD directly on the board on a PCIe x1 slot...
  11. ...you can see my "exact" hardware in my siganture... well - if noone has a clue , i will try it and see what happens... By the way: Speed is not the point - i dont need 1000MB/s speed on the SSD - i can life with 400MB/s as well. Reason for this is, i dont have a spare SATA3 connection for an additional SSD - only SATA2 connections remaining...
  12. ...50 views and noone knows, if a driver for a NVMe-SSD is implemented... hmmmm ๐Ÿ™„
  13. Hi folks, just a short question: Is it possible to use a NVMe-SSD with PCIe x1 adapter on this Board under unRAID? I read an article that all chipsets from intel from 6x on can handle this, BUT... The OS must provide a proper driver for the NVMe-SSD. Does someone know if unraid has this driver included? Thanks for your support
  14. Running 6.8.3 since 2 days 21 hous 39 minutes without any issue ๐Ÿ˜‰
  15. Running 6.8.2 since 9 days 1 hour 30min - no problems so far ๐Ÿ˜‰
  16. Can't confirm this... when i copy ~41GB over the 10GBit-LAN to my cache-SSD, the CPU has a load of ~18-26% It might be hardware-related...
  17. I am using sleep with my SAS 9207-8i and its working. The only thing i had to do was this: Under Settings, Sleep Settings, Custom commands after wake-up, implement this: sleep 120; hdparm -y $(ls /dev/sd*|grep "[a-z]$") >/dev/null 2>&1 2nd Point: If you push the Sleep-Button or the time for sleep is reached, the server takes aprox. 60-120sec to really go to sleep - so be patient.
  18. Did a new test and gave my PC the ip 192.168.2.250 - no connection to the router... So its not an unraid-problem, its an IPFire-problem... EDIT: Found the problem... The ARP-Cache from the linux-router needs to be flushed, then it works and the ip 250 is usable again ๐Ÿ‘
  19. FYI: I did a test and changed the ip from 192.168.2.250 to 192.168.2.150 and guess what - it works!!! So is there a restriction if the NIC is changed to not use the "old" ip? This seems strange because why? Should not be... or is there somewhere a misconfig under the hood?
  20. Yep - its late - thanks for your help and a good night ๐Ÿ‘
  21. I am not sure, if i understand. I boot in safe mode and then take the diagnostics again? I remember, i had a simmilar problem with the old board and the onboard realtek NIC - i was never able to get a inet connection...
  22. So - did a reboot in safe mode but still cant ping the router under 192.168.2.253 - all other devices are reachable - all are connected at the same LAN-segment 192.168.2.x... what can i do next?
  23. Thanks bonienl - thanks for your help - strange... ok, will test it.
