I used to do this on my Old G1 T-Mobile Android phone when it first came out. Advantages was I was able to seriously stretch the battery life of my phone and when applications needed the CPU it would ramp back up to normal. Have zero clue how the coding exactly worked, but it worked well.

I'm attempting to get my ipad to connect to the Calibre server and it never seems to connect. Is there a magic way to make this work or could you give me some insight? I'm attempting to use the Calibre Companion on my ipad.
This is my mappings from the Docker.
I attempted to connect via 192.168.1.127 using ports 8081, 8001, 8002 and 8003 which is the cops one. Lol
I'm using Medusa docker and its 8081 which is why I can only imagine why it can't connect with that one. In Calibre it gives me the ip of 172.17.0.8 port 8081

Monthly
My Build in my profile which is using a 4TB Parity drive running all 5400 drives takes around 14hours. Starts at Midnight and I normally expect it to stop around 1pm/2pm. I use User Scripts and have my scripts setup only to run 2nd-31st of every month and Dockers they just do what they do whenever.
Personally I like Monthly so I'm more aware of issues if any ever arises and I don't forget to run it since its setup to run automatically.
Also I never schedule any Hardware changes or upgrades until after the end of the month since I know a parity check is going to be done.

XBMC v 9.11 on my Big Screen in my Living room. Its on an older AsRock ION 330 with XboxDongle. It works so I never updated it.
Plex on everything else. When I say everything else I mean. Our iPads, iPhones, Xbox's, ChromeCast and Chrome Browsers.

My Last Linux server lasted over 4Years. Could of gone longer, but I had to unplug it and move into our new house. Lol
However with Unraid it does require updates now and then. Both of my machines have been up running for 38 Days and 42 Days. Had to reboot both of them to swap around some Hardware other wise who knows how long they would of been running for.

I've deleted a Docker or (3) in past and found it was rather easy after botching up (2) installs to find the previous installed button in Community Applications. I guess its why I'm sold on Dockers now. Even I can mess things up and have somebody save my butt once or twice. lol
Glad you got it figured out. Can you add (SOLVED) to the beginning of your topic? Lets others know you solved your problem.

Sorry to be a total n00b here, but I'm looking to run the backup on the 1st Sunday of every month at 5am. I understand that this requires a custom cron.
I thought I'd use one of the many different cron syntax generators online, but they all seem to give different outputs! Worse, the many different validators also give differing opinions on the validity of the cron I entered.
So I thought I'd take a look on the forums to see if anyone recommended a particular cron syntax generator, but I have found none.
So here I am. Can anyone confirm if my cron syntax is correct?
0 0 5 ? * 0#1 *
Again, I'd like it to run at 5am on the 1st Sunday of every month.
Many thanks.
I've tried to look into this and honestly I can't find a solution without running some kind of custom scripting.

Same site that's linked to in user scripts
EDIT: Albeit user scripts goes to http://www.corntab.com which used to work. Now it doesn't. Only http://corntab.com works
Yep I know it is. That's how I found it.

Even if you setup unRAID to be ITS OWN syslog server, and log to a disk instead of to RAM, it would be useful in problem solving scenarios.
Exactly this. I have a SSD sitting there anyways. Fill it up some.

Thanks, I've looked into this.
I don't have a dvd-player in my server, so I can't really use the MakeMKV docker for this.
I just copied the VIDEO-TS directory that is on the disc from another computer to the Handbrake input folder.
Most dvd's I have just convert correctly, but some just end up with the artifacts due to encryption (I guess).
Totally makes sense.

Is the libdvdcss package included in this docker? I tried to convert some dvd's and some of them were encrypted so I've got strange video and audio artifacts in the encoded files.
I probably would of tried to use his MakeMKV docker first to grab an image and then run Handbrake. Its at least an idea.

Does the putting a . in front of a directory not still work?
Here is some talk about disabling the Mover Script. Of course its part of the OS, so keep good notes of what your changing incase you want to restore things.
I do exactly what @itimpi Posted about. I use different shares and User.Scripts to automate my moving of files to other shares with either something Automated or via a clickable button.

See, that's where you and I differ, I'm guessing you're the boss in your household, whereas.... I am very much not. (Although the office and garage are mine! Rest of the house I'm just allowed to occupy)
Boss? Hardly. I normally end up in my office watching things on my 37" or in our other room similar sized TV. Never mind the 58" Plasma and complete surround system is in the room shes claimed as her reading area.
And for the record she doesn't like Game of Thrones so I know exactly how you feel. Lol I'm just glad I was smart enough to have network access in most of the rooms and access to Plex or I'd be seriously mad half the time.

I was going to watch it, but my wife beat me to it and watched it first whilst I was at work, now I can't watch it in the evening as she's already seen it.....
Lol, That's when I would say... "Sorry Honey, but guess what your going to suffer through and watch with me again"

My first system was a 2 core Pentium Processor with 8 GB RAM that actually served me quite well for 4-5 years. But once Plex started to become used a bit more, things were much flakier.
Now that I'm running with a more commercial level system, I'm trying to find extra ways to better utilize the power it has.
Because my Primary machine is my machine I'm currently running and then I'm transitioning to my Secondary and I will be retiring Athlon.
I don't have time/money to throw into this newer machine at the moment so its baby steps. So in the mean time I'm utilizing my second machine for things so I don't hammer the tar out of my primary machine. What am I doing? I'm ripping 1400 movies. lol
-
A. My Primary which is in my Signature
1. Plex Server
2. Data backup of my network, (essential data backed up offline and to a toaster style nas)
3. I rip lots of Movies and then use a HandBrake Docker to rip on a schedule
B. Backup than Faster than Primary Machine - Xeon E3-1225
1. Backup Plex Server
2. Ripper for Movies that isn't on a schedule more or less constant that dumps to Primary and allows primary to keep a low CPU and do other things
3. Soon to be used for Security Footage when I finally decided on system
4. I'm sure more and more eventually.

Awwwweeeee Yeahhhhhhh
My favorite FTP, SFTP app.
Thank you for doing this.

No, the popup when you click on it showed Handbrake like it should, but when you clicked on the download button it presented Folding.
Why Blasting the Docker.img fixed it I have no idea. I'm thinking we should probably take this convo to CA lo so we don't drive Djoss and others batty over something that was a fluke or some how my mistake. lol
-
No, I know it wasn't his fault. It was CA... Lol Just appeared that way at first, but I knew something was up when I compared two machines and they both showed different results so it was instantly a "Ah-Ha" Moment. I just wanted to follow up with a reply/edit on his topic since that is where I first posted up a comment and didn't want to leave him/somebody else hanging. I just blasted the docker.img and oddly enough magic happened and all is well again. I was just totally perplexed why it was trying to install Folding@Home or something of the sort on his Docker. Lol
It just took some backyard mechanic trouble shooting to figure out my problem. Bulding a new machine and wanted to kick the tires some and HandBrake is a good Test seeing I wanted to compare speeds of old machine to new machine.
-
Not sure why, but when I click on the Apps tab and select HandBrake I get FoldingAtHome when I select your HandBrake Docker. Either I'm going nuts or something else is... Lol
This is the URL Community Applicatons is sending me to.
192.168.1.46 is my PC's IP.
http://192.168.1.46/AddContainer?xmlTemplate=default:/var/lib/docker/unraid/templates-community-apps/45.xml
*******************************Mind Blown**********************************
If I try it on my new machine I get FoldingAtHome, but on my Regular Server it pulls up Handbrake. I'm really confused here. lol
Took blasting my Docker.img and restoring it to bring back the correct install. Not sure why it wanted to install folding. Lol. I am installing this on a Xeon so maybe it thought it could crank out some numbers or something.

Yep very true. Especially since hes very egar to help out its even better.

Spent some time this weekend and swapped out my Mother Board, Processor, Ram and all the cabling.
I dropped in the following:
- E3-1225 v3 from a Dell T20 box
- AsRock Z87 Extreme 6
- Removed the AOC-SASLP-MV8. I'll eventually pick up a LSI Card, but for now I'm using the 10 on board Sata connections
- Dropped in a bunch of 11 inch 6GB Sata Cables, yeah I know I should of gone a little shorter now that its all stuffed in there. Lol
- 8 GIG of Non ECC Ram
- Some Cheap Video Card I had laying around for Output. I'll eventually switch to On Board, but I don't want to deal with HDMI or DVI at the moment
My Reasons for doing this was simple. I wanted to update my Budget box and get a bit more current with the times. The 4Core Athlon was cutting it pretty well and was very stable. I just wanted more Horse Power and thought I was for sure it was on borrowed time. Things do feel much snapper when I'm running Plex and it does Transcode much faster.
I'll eventually update my first post and my signature.
