    6.6.0 GUI

Not a big fan of all the orange either but I can deal with it. I’m running 4K and 1440p monitors so the larger fonts are great.

    Unraid OS version 6.6.3 available

6.6.3 was very erratic for me when copying files from my ssd cache to my main array. I ended up rolling back to 6.6.2 and everything is fine again. I'm running a xeon e3 haswell cpu so plenty of power there. Anyway I tested 6.6.3 for quite a few days and it just wasn't good for me.
  3. Enterprise drives are claimed to have better vibration resistance, and in a 36 bay server it might make a difference, or it might not... If it were me I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just buy the flavor you like that you think will be reliable. Wd reds are good drives and should work fine. I've got about 10 of them in my server and they've been flawless for me so far.
  4. Hgst definitely. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Help with APC UPS - SMT vs SMC?

SMT will give you longer runtime. It's more of an enterprise grade model than the SMC. Also with the SMT you can add that network management card into the back of it.

All my Reds show 5400 rpm under the unraid drive identity tab. That's one thing about Seagate though they do make some fast drives.?

I wouldn't buy Seagate unless it was their enterprise capacity drives. Don't trust their desktop or nas drives. Barracuda, etc. Iron wolf pro might be OK though too.

I've got a bunch of WD reds. Like around 20 or so. They're great. Never had one fail. I've started buying HGST Ultrastar He drives though and they are great too They are 7200 rpm but they run just as cool as the 5400 rpm reds. WD Gold is probably real good too. I haven't had one yet but I imagine they are very similar to HGST Ultrastar He drives.

    Managed Switches

Right now i'm using a 24 port HP Procurve but thinking about changing it out for a Ubiquiti 48 port POE edge switch soon. I'm running out of ports plus I need POE, SFP+..

    New Router

Ubiquiti edgerouter pro. Way overkill for my internet connection but I wanted a rack mounted router so I bought one. I use 2x Unifi AP AC Pro for my wireless. 3500 sq ft home.
  12. Yes you will still need to flash it with IT firmware. You should read through this thread it should explain everything.
  13. The LSI controller needs to be in IT mode. You can flash it with or without the bios though. Bios is mainly for if you need to run a bootable drive from the controller. Unraid won't need this since you're booting from a USB flash drive.

    Unraid and WIndows 10

I reinstalled windows 10 yesterday and I was pulling my hair out for a few hours trying to connect to my unraid server. I ended up getting it working finally but I had to go into windows credentials and enter my unraid user name and password manually. After that I got right in.
