Ive actually got a copy of the High Sierra installer but no way to send it to you that i can see. Its about 5 GB.
Well, I guess I’ll be the first to put in a request. It’s a Rosewill RSV-L4411 4U rackmount case. This one has the front cover removed for easier access.
This isn’t really an answer to your questions, but I wanted to point out that preclear is no longer required for adding a drive to your array (some people do use it for stress testing drives though). UnRAID will now clear the drives in the background. The plugin hasn’t been updated in a while and quite a few people have reported issues. The scripts you mention may also be outdated.
I’m not sure why you think this is a problem with the container rather than the new version of Deluge, but if you choose to you can revert to the previous version of the app.

Downloads normally go to /data which you have configured to be in your appdata folder. This is configured inside the Deluge app.
When you say “the downloads just sit there”, exactly what does that mean? They are downloaded but never moved? Or your indexer adds the download to the queue but it never starts downloading.
Short answer, clear preclear and format will “erase” the drive. With format there are processes to possibly recover the data since formatting just changes the indexing. This is usually rather expensive though.
With clear and preclear your only choice would be to restore from a backup probably since these processes actually overwrite every sector.
Clear or preclear will write zeros to the entire drive overwriting all existing data on the drive. This is done so that the parity knows exactly what is on the drive when it is added (zeros) and can maintain an accurate computation of parity. You can’t add data to a parity protected share by adding a drive that already contains the data. You’ll need to copy the data to the share first probably.
You can only add a cleared disk to a parity protected array. If the disk contains data that you want on your server you’ll need to move the data to the server first and then go through the process to add the disk to the array. You can use the Unassigned Devices plugin to mount the disk outside the array and transfer the data.
Just to be sure you know, there is no necessity to preclear drives. Some people like to use this plugin to test new drives before installing them in their array, but UnRAID will clear new drives when they are added to the array.
