Thats a little more than I paid for mine, so the price isn't ridiculously low or anything. However, that seller has all of their listings set to private, so you cant tell what their feedback was on. Edit: upon further investigation, that is the same seller I bought mine from. Mine seems legit and its been working for a while now.

Definitely disk IO as my parity checks are almost half the speed they were under 6.6.

I have an X10SRA-F, but it should be quite similar. I run Micron 36ASF2G72PZ-2G1A2. Hynix HMA82GR7MFR4N-UH are on the "Tested" list and can be had for only $45/module.

Which is less than a single 8TB hard drive! In the grand scheme of things, its a tiny portion of the overall cost of a server.

Unfortunately, I do not have version history. That would be nice to have in the Parity Check History. But, I usually update fairly shortly after an update is released, with the exception of 6.7. That one took me a while, IIRC. I was using "tuned" settings, but reverted to defaults with 6.8. For a couple of years, I have had the same size array: 2 x Parity + 13 x Data. All HGST 8TB HDN728080ALE604.

FYI - I am having quite a bit of difficulty getting open-vm-tools to compile on the new kernel in 6.8.0-rc1. Hopefully I will have time to work on it again next week.

Ummm.... your very ancient controller card is SATA, not SAS.

I think I’m the only one who passes through a USB controller for the license on USB, but actually boots off a vmdk. Everyone else seems to prefer PLOP.

1 - Are there performance impacts doing this, if so what? None 2 - Is there a trick to setting up shares in ESXi for the unRAID disks? You need to pass through a controller or two and access the disks directly. You do NOT want to set up disks on a datastore. 3 - Is it difficult to migrate to a bare metal unRAID instance from unRAID on ESXi? (ya know... after the panic sets in) I can boot my unRAID either baremetal or under ESXi. This is important as you will get zero support from Limetech and others running virtualized. 6 - Is there a version of Open-VMware-Tools for the latest version of unRAID 6.7.2? Yes. However, there are problems with 6.7. I recommend 6.6.7. 7 - Are the custom Open-VMware-Tools available in the Community Applications? Yes. It was recently added to CA. I try to release an updated version of Open-VM-Tools within a couple of days of a new unRAID release. Search for "openVMTools_compiled" 10 - Is viewing and managing VMs on unRAID as easy as using VM Remote Client (VMRC) and VMware vCenter Server Appliance (vCSA)? I wouldnt run VMs on a virtualized unRAID. I use a few Dockers, but no VMs.

So, I'm guessing a new kernel fixes this problem? I see similar speeds on 6.6.x, but not on any version of 6.7.x.

But the only change from rc1 to rc2 was a docker version. It was specifically targeted at users with SQLite corruption.
