TBH: I just had no time yet to test the plugin on Unraid OS 7. I think my PlayTime server is still on some first beta and the basics were working. I cannot guarantee that there was some changes reagrding update API inside webgui scripts. The debug should reveal this. If not, I can check this the next days on my PlayTime server. Should not be a big issue.

I think all/some of your update-available containers are set to "Skipped? YES". This excludes them from any update action. The initial update-check does not test if a specific container should be skipped, thats the reason its announced but never done. I should change that detail.

 

You could set Skip? To no and enable "Skip backup" (advanced container settings)

Tautulli backup failed because the Plex log is opened in Plex Media Server. Create a group with containers sharing volumes. Currently you backup one by one. When both (and any other using this volume(s)) are in one group, all members getting shut down during backup resulting in a non-conflicting backup.

Not really. Time is the limiting factor. It isnt that much have to change imho. Just create a snapshot and work from there should be enough, I guess. I bring my dev server up to date the next days and try to make some progress.

I've been using this user script for Appdata.Backup for the past six months with no issues. It does everything that I need with ZFS. I hope that it helps. 👍

I shared my log file 7011fff2-cd04-4e2a-8272-94931c737811. I am getting the message "Destination is unavailable or not writeable. Did you create a destination folder?" Yes its pointed to the path and I ran the script to set shares to the default access, and ran into the same error.

 

Interesting when I click the save button the backup directory changed to /mnt/download/appdatabackup which did not exist. I created that directory and then the backup will run but it will not save the backup location I specify.

I believe that all of your errors come from empty folders at their original locations. Is the error always the same?

 

I cannot see why photoprism is that big. The log states it only backups the path "/mnt/user/appdata/photoprism" which seems legit. How big is it?

@KluthR It looks like the grouping function isn't working correclty, When I double click it does not show me a list to select from.

If its the 1st group, there is nothing to show. If its nit the 1st group: an initial save after defining groups is needed. If still not shown: yes, something is wrong 😅

AppData backup notification, backup folder failure indication, logs are all the same.

 

Photoprism docker capacity is large! I will check this in Photoprism and reduce it!

@KluthR Not looking for a fix, but wanted to note something strange that happened this week.

 

I run a weekly appdata backup of ~30 Docker containers.  A very plain vanilla config: Stop all - backup - start all, standard appdata locations, only exclusion is the Plex Cache folder.  I consistently end up with ~33GB with 107 files.  Usually completes in 24 minutes.

 

No major changes made on the server or any Docker.  The only change was installing the Unraid Patch the other day.  (Server still on 6.12.10).  All plugins and (most) Dockers up to date.  Appdata backup ran yesterday and took just over 4 hours.  No errors in Appdata Backup log.  File is the same 33GB/107 files.  No other activity going on at the time of the backup.  I get Telegram notifications for many of my maintenance activities.

 

Very strange that that it took 10x longer than it has done for many months.  Seems as the Plex verification is what added all the additional time.

 

I'll see what happens at next week's scheduled appdata backup.  Just wanted to pass this along, in case you find yourself hunting this issue down.

Photoprism Cache directory holds several thumbnail files for each photo in your library.  It makes up almost the entire appdata directory for the app.  This is one of the reasons I moved on to Immich.  Photoprism just doesn't scale well with large photo libraries.

Wow, thank you. So now I am trying to move sidecar or thumbnails to array in photoprism. It doesn't work well for inputting variables.
 

The reason I use photoprism is to back up my photos from my iPhone and view them in my photo album. When I come home with photosync, they are automatically uploaded to the iphone folder in the array on the server, and then automatically indexed in photoprism.
Also, when I delete unnecessary photos from photoprism, the corresponding photos in the iphone folder are deleted.
 

Can Immich use the same process I am doing?
 

Also, can you tell me what program is attached? or docker? It looks very useful because it has a GUI and you can check the capacity of the folder!

The Immich iOS app can automatically upload photos (can turn on/off this in app).  Like many iPhone apps, you need to actually open the app for it to start this task - an issue for most Apple apps, it doesn't like running things in the background.

 

I don't believe Immich will remove photos from your phone, so they likely would upload again if removed from the Immich photo directory.

 

The screenshot is from QDirStat docker.  A very useful tool when trying to figure out what is using your storage space.

My thoughts exactly.  If there was some other drive activity that was taking that long, it would be something which I would had received a Telegram notification (backups, media downloads, parity checks, etc all go to my phone via telegram).

 

I will see what happens next week.  Maybe just a head scratching, one off glitch in the Matrix.  Just thought I would toss it into this thread, to document and save some data about it, in case it comes up again for me or someone else.

So, two weeks in a row now, the backup has randomly had a near 5 hour long pause. Last week, it took 5 hours to backup a container that usually only takes about 2 minutes, and now this week it took 5 hours between confirming the backup directory and listing the containers to backup.

I never uploaded last weeks log as I thought it might've been a one off (though I do still have a partial version I saved in a notepad file that I apparently never closed), but I do have the one that ran this morning.

I didn't realise it was still running until I realised Plex was down and tried to boot it back up again (which created an unrelated error in the backup log) but I don't really have an explanation for these gaps, nor why it's been almost 5 hours on both occasions. i'm hoping you could give me some insight in what might be causing this. No, not really at all. I see, that plex backup was running from 11:08:05 to 12:30:57. A "file changed as we read it" occured and the lsof (which file is open within given path) took from 12:30:57 to 12:43:55.

 

While writing I realize, that the cotainer listing (from dockerMan) took from 05:00:05 to 09:55:21. Thats nothing special and loaded during backup initialization. Seems like Unraid had an issue.

Hmmmm... Perhaps this is related to what I recently posted above?  🤔

Slighty different. @Retribution's issue happened during other states of backup. But I don’t want to rule it out.
